Abstract

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period represent natural experiences for women, with physical and psychological changes occurring during these phases. During pregnancy, there are hormonal fluctuations that can affect the mother's mood and emotions. Therefore, psychological support is needed for pregnant women because it can prevent complications during labor and postpartum. To prevent these conditions, complementary therapies are needed, such as Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) as a holistic midwifery care for the physical and emotional health of the mother. The focus of this study was to evaluate the benefits of SEFT therapy in the care of pregnant women during pregnancy, during labor, and postpartum period. The research methodology utilized a systematic literature review sourced from various databases including ProQuest, PubMed, Oxford, SCOPUS, ScienceDirect, SAGE Journal, and Google Scholar. The PRISMA protocol guided data extraction and categorization. Results Ten relevant articles identified that SEFT therapy contributes to improving maternal well-being and cardiovascular health during pregnancy. In addition, the therapy has been shown to reduce anxiety among pregnant, pre-cesarean section, and laboring mothers, and has demonstrated efficacy in reducing post-cesarean section pain and improving postpartum maternal sleep.

Abstract

Introduction: Secondary amenorrhea which caused by intrauterine adhesions is called Asherman’s syndrome. This occurs when the uterine cavity becomes partially or completely blocked, which can damage the basal layer of the endometrium and cause the formation of adhesive cicatricial tissue. The prevalence or incidence of Asherman Syndrome ranges from 2.84-5.5% in women. Case Report: A woman 33 years old had a history of amenorrhea for 2 years and three times curettage due to miscariage. Ultrasound findings showed 1.35 cm long cicatrix in the uterine cavity, and probe had only entered 3 cm. The patient underwent hysteroscopy adhesiolysis and grafting of intrauterine amniotic membrane. The intrauterine catheter was monitored for 1 month. Postoperatively the patient also received estradiol valerate therapy 3 x 2 mg for three months. Management of Asherman syndrome with hysteroscopy adhesiolysis with direct observation accompanied by grafting of amniotic membrane using intrauterine catheter tube is one of the techniques to overcome recurrent intrauterine adhesion. Conclusion:  Secondary amenorrhea in Asherman syndrome is better treated operatively with direct observation of the hysteroscopy and adhesiolysis. The using of amniotic membrane graft and supportive therapy are very helpful for the success of endometrial growth and preventing recurrent adhesions, increase the menstrual volume and chances of pregnancy. Kateter intrauterin dipantau selama 1 bulan.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Primigravida pregnant women are vulnerable to anxiety, worry, and fear during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period. If not managed properly, anxiety during pregnancy can negatively affect maternal and fetal outcomes, including pre-eclampsia, premature birth, miscarriage, impaired uteroplacental blood flow, low birth weight, congenital abnormalities, as well as postpartum stress and depression. Complementary therapies such as the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT), have been suggested as non-pharmacological strategies to alleviate anxiety. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of audiovisual-based SEFT therapy and antenatal class educational videos in reducing anxiety levels among primigravida pregnant women. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design conducted in two groups with 27 respondents in each group. Respondents were asked to fill out the Pregnancy Related Anxiety Questionnaire-Revised 2 (PRAQ-R2) before the first day of treatment and after the third day of treatment to determine anxiety scores, then compared and statistically analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney test. Results: Anxiety scores significantly decreased in the audiovisual-based SEFT group (p 0.001) and were significantly greater than in the antenatal educational video group (p = 0.046).Conclusion: Audiovisual media-based SEFT therapy is more effective in reducing anxiety in primigravida pregnant women than educational videos for pregnant women. Keywords: Anxiety, primigravida, spiritual emotional freedom technique
