Abstract

Snakehead (Channa sp.) was one of the superior freshwater fish species native to Indonesia that has been successfully domesticated. The increasing demand for snakehead fish on the market has resulted in the addition of cultivated land and water use. Aquaponics technology was a combination of fish farming and plants that grow without soil media. The aim of this research was to determine the best composition of probiotics that can be used in aquaponic technology to optimize growth rate and feed conversion of snakehead fish (Channa sp.). This research used an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with four probiotic combination treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system resulted in a spesific growth rate that was not significantly (P>0.05) different between treatments. The highest value of spesific growth rate were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 4.11%/ day. Awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system results in significantly (P<0.05) different feed conversion ratio values. The best feed conversion ratio values were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 1.78. The conclusion of this study was the composition of probiotic Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae was the best probiotic composition to increase the spesific growth rate and feed conversion ratio of snakehead fish.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of administration of activated charcoal, zeolite, and manganese greensand on survival Oreochromis niloticus. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatments are P1 = without administration (control), P2 = administration of activated charcoal 10 gr/l P3 = administration of Zeolite 10 gr/l and P4 = administration of manganese 10 gr/l. The parameter observed in this study was survival Oreochromis niloticus. The results showed that administration of activated charcoal, zeolites, and manganese greensand significantly affected the survival of Oreochromis niloticus. The best value is obtained at treatment P1; P2; and P3, each with the best average survival value of 96%; 91%; and 91%. The lowest cost incurred is the treatment P1 Rp. 66.200, - with SR 96% transportation.

Abstract

Snakehead fish (Channa sp.) was one of Indonesia's native freshwater commodities that has been successfully domesticated by fish cultivators in Indonesia. However, domesticated snakehead fish cultivation still has obstacles, namely the high value of the feed conversion ratio and the low growth rate of local snakehead fish. Overcoming this problem requires a technology that can optimize the feed conversion ratio and growth rate of domestic snakehead fish. One technology that can be applied is the used of probiotic technology. This study aims to test the provision of different probiotics through feed to optimize the feed conversion ratio and growth rate of domestic snakehead fish. This research was conducted using experimental methods. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The treatments were treatment without probiotics / control (P0), treatment of the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus spp. and Nitrosomonas sp. (P1), treatment of the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (P2), treatment of the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Acetobacter, Rhodobacter sp., Yeast (P3). The results showed that giving different probiotic compositions through feed on the parameters of feed conversion ratio and growth rate did not give results that were not significantly different (P> 0.05) when compared to control, but the highest treatment value was found in the probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Abstract

Income of fishers in West Aceh District usually fluctuating, indicate by the small of number of catches of fisherman. Another thing that has a negative impact on the economy fishermens households is the Covid-19 pandemic. Limited land is a problem for fishermen’s families, previously fishermen’s wives drying salted fish to increase their income. One of the tips is to apply fish cultivation technology on limited land with the Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) system. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge to a group of fishermen’s wives about fish farming based on the IMTA system. The method used is the socialization of IMTA system fish farming, IMTA system fish pond construction training, production management guidance, training on production performance analysis and marketing strategy, monitoring and evaluation. Integrated fish cultivation training activities for groups of fishermen’s wives received positive support and response from group partners. This activity is very beneficial for houswives because they get new skills to increase economic income. This program is a solution for fishermen’s families during uncertain economic conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This group activity will be an inspiration and model for other fishermen’s wives to do fish farming in limited land and water sources.

Abstract

Beutong District is one of the sub-districts in Nagan Raya Regency with an area of 1,017.32 Km2. The topography of Beutong District supports the cultivation of freshwater fisheries. The purpose of this service activity is to educate and apply the provision of probiotic technology made from local ingredients to increase production performance and the health status of economically important freshwater aquaculture fish. The method used in this activity is an educational method and application of probiotic technology made from local raw materials for economically important freshwater fish. The program begins with educating about the concept of using probiotic technology made from local ingredients, how to make probiotics made from local ingredients, methods of giving probiotics made from local ingredients and ending with training on good fish farming. Monitoring and evaluation will also be carried out to see the level of independence of fish farmers in applying the science and technology that has been taught and the sustainability of the program as well as the obstacles during this program. The result of this service activity is that probiotic technology made from local ingredients is effectively applied to economically important freshwater fish farming.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat tingkat efektifitas tomat dalam pakan buatan terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan tawes (Puntius javanicus). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Kontrol (P0), ekstrak tomat (1,25 mg) + pakan FF 999 4% (P1), ekstrak tomat (2,75 mg) + pakan FF 999 4% P2) dan ekstrak tomat (3,75 mg) + pakan FF 999 4%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan panjang mutlak tertinggi diperoleh P3 (4,44 cm) dan terendah P0 (2,38 cm), pertumbuhan bobot mutlak tertinggi diperoleh P1 (18,75 gr) dan terendah P0 (11,56 gr), laju pertumbuhan spesifik tertinggi diperoleh P1 (2,96%) dan terendah P0 (2,48%), serta kelangsungan hidup tertinggi diperoleh P2 dan P3 (93,33%) dan terendah diperoleh P0 (46,66%). Kata kunci: Puntius javanicus, Solanum lycopersicum L, pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui dosis hormon 17α-metiltestoteron yang optimal untuk pembentukan kelamin jantan ikan lele sangkuriang (Clarias sp). Metode penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Pada benih lele sangkuriang yang berumur 20 hari direndam dengan hormon 17α-metiltestoteron dengan dosis 0, 4, 6 dan 8 mg/l air selama 8 jam. Wadah penelitian adalah stoples dengan volume 15 liter air sebanyak 12 unit yang dilengkapi dengan heater dan aerasi. Jumlah benih yang direndam sebanyak 30 ekor per perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P3 (dosis 8 mg/l) mendapatkan persentase jantan tertinggi yaitu sebesar 71,11% dan uji statistik menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (Fhitung > Ftabel 0,05), kelangsungan hidup tertinggi pada P0 (kontrol) yaitu sebesar 82,22%, uji statistik menunnjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (Fhitung > Ftabel 0,01) dan pertumbuhan bobot harian tertinggi pada P0 (kontrol) yaitu sebesar 1,928%, uji statistik juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (Fhitung > Ftabel 0,05).Kata kunci: Sex reversal, 17α-metiltestosteron, Clarias sp.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan gonad ikan serukan yang diberikan pakan tepung kunyit. Metode penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Empat dosis tepung kunyit dicampur ke dalam pakan yaitu 0, 0,2, 0,4, dan 0,6 %/kg. Induk yang digunakan dalam percobaan adalah induk betina ikan serukan sebanyak 120 ekor (10 ekor/wadah) berukuran panjang 12-14 cm dan bobot 30-40 g hasil tangkapan dan penangkaran kelompok petani ikan di Kabupaten Nagan Raya. Parameter yang diamati yaitu pertumbuhan (bobot dan panjang), gonadosomatic index (GSI) dan hepatosomatic index (HSI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung kunyit dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan mempercepat proses perkembangan gonad ikan dengan dosis terbaik yaitu P4 (0,6%/kg pakan).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat motilitas dan viabilitas sperma ikan serukan dengan suplementasi mineral Seng (Zn) Anorganik ZnSO4.7H2O. Metode penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Empat suplementasi yaitu 0, 100, 200, dan 300 mg Zn Kg-1 pakan. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah induk ikan serukan jantan sebanyak 120 ekor (10 ekor/wadah) dengan bobot rata-rata 40-50 gr. Ikan dipelihara dalam keramba jarring tancap berukuran 1 m3 selama 60 hari. Parameter yang diamati yaitu volume (ml), motilitas (%) dan viabilitas sperma (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi mineral Seng (Zn) anorganik ZnSO4.7H2O memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap volume, motilitas dan viabilitas sperma ikan serukan (P>0,05). Suplementasi 200 mg Zn Kg-1 pakan menunjukkan hasil terbaik dibangdingkan perlakuan lainnya. Keseluruhan parameter terlihat meningkat dengan selisih volume 0,3 ml, motilitas 20% dan viabilitas sebesar 13% dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol.
