Abstract

Objective. The performance of athletes in sports is influenced by various factors such as their profile, anthropometry, training, equipment, management, nutrition, and the environment. This research aims to determine the potential impact of anthropometry on winning medals in the PON qualifying rounds for major sports. The primary goal is to understand the significance of anthropometry in achieving success in these sporting events. Materials and methods. This study utilizes a quantitative descriptive method with a survey research approach. The research focuses on 11 sports branches registered with the provincial KONI, comprising a total of 70 outstanding athletes. The variables studied and data collection techniques include height, weight, leg length, and arm length. The study findings indicated that one sports branch did not win any medals at the BK PON, while six sports branches did receive medals. Only 33 out of the 70 participating athletes managed to secure medals. Results. The athletes' performance at BK PON did not meet expectations, largely due to a range of individual factors. It became evident that meticulous planning was required for each athlete's training and competition experience. Areas requiring improvement included technical flexibility, tactical prowess, creativity in competition, as well as mental and emotional adjustments. Conclusion. The study gathered anthropometric data from seven different sports. Interestingly, one of these sports did not produce any medal winners. Even among the top six sports, athletes with ideal anthropometry were unable to secure medals. This is likely due to a combination of individual factors. It is essential to carefully plan each athlete's training and competitive experience, improve technical flexibility, tactics, and creativity in competition, as well as train for mental and emotional adjustments.

Abstract

Level atlet elit, sering kali diminta untuk tampil melewati batas kecepatan, kelincahan, kelenturan, daya tahan dan kekuatan, setiap menghadapi hal tersebut atlet harus dapat menjaga konsentrasinya agar dapat memenuhi taktik/mental tuntutan menghadapi lawan. Kemampuan biomotor akan mempengaruhi kondisi fisik seseorang atlet untuk dapat bersaing dari awal hingga akhir pertandingan/perlombaan, jika kondisi fisik (biomotorik) seorang atlet dalam kondisi yang baik maka atlet akan melakukan berbagai gerakan lebih cepat dalam olahraga dan menguasai teknik gerakan yang dilatih sehingga akan mempengaruhi performa atlet dalam pertandingan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui aspek biomotor atlet elit pada cabang olahraga unggulan. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei. Populasi penelitian merupakan 8 cabang olahraga yang terdaftar di KONI Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah dengan jumlah atlet 133 yang merupakan atlet unggulan dari setiap cabang olahraga. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu 133 dengan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling. Variabel penelitian dan teknik pengmbilan data penelitian yaitu biomotor yang terdiri dari Daya Tahan (Endurance), Kekuatan (Strength), Kecepatan (Speed), Kelenturan (Flekxibility) dan Koordinasi (Coordination). Hasil penelitian dilakukan maka diperoleh biomotor atlet elit cabang olahraga unggulan yang terdiri dari cabang olahraga sepaktakraw yang memperoleh hasil sedang, cabang olahraga bilyard memperoleh hasil kurang, cabang olahraga paralayang memperoleh hasil kurang, cabang olahraga taekwondo memperoleh hasil sedang, cabang olahraga dayung memperoleh hasil sedang, cabang olahraga atletik memperoleh hasil sedang, cabang olahraga panjat tebing memperoleh hasil sedang, dan cabang olahraga pencak silat memperoleh hasil sedang.

Abstract

In athlete coaching, mental factors often receive less attention than physical factors, such as technique, tactics, and strategy. This study explored the use of hypnosis as a mental exercise in coaching volleyball athletes. This study was conducted on 20 PBVSI volleyball athletes in Pidie Regency using an experimental one-group pretest-posttest design and then tested their abilities using the American Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) volleyball playing skills test. The collected data were analysed using inferential statistics (specifically the t-test) with SPSS 27 at the 0.05 level of significance. The results showed a significant improvement in volleyball playing skills after hypnosis training, indicating its potential application in athlete coaching. Hypnosis was found to significantly improve concentration, confidence, and emotional control among athletes—key elements that contributed to overall sports performance. However, limitations of this study include the small sample size and focus on one type of sport. Therefore, further research involving larger samples across different sports is recommended for wider generalisability. In addition, long-term studies are needed to assess the sustained effects of hypnosis over time. In conclusion, our preliminary findings underscore the potential benefits of integrating mental training techniques such as hypnosis into athletic training programmes to improve performance outcomes. These results highlight the importance of considering psychological aspects alongside physical aspects in athletic training.

Abstract

The fundamental skill of underhand passing in volleyball is essential, but the lack of a teaching model for this skill has resulted in students not fully grasping the basic techniques of volleyball. This research aims to describe the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of a teaching model for the basic technique of underhand passing in volleyball for middle school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this research are middle school students at SMP Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu in grade VIII. The small-scale trial involved 1 teacher and 15 students, while the large-scale trial involved 56 students. The research results indicated that the development of the teaching model for the basic technique of underhand passing in volleyball for middle school students is feasible, with a validity score of 90.03%, categorized as "very valid." This teaching model is also proven to be practical, with a practicality score of 88.76, categorized as "very practical." Additionally, the teaching model has been shown to be effective in enhancing the underhand passing skills of middle school students, with a Cohen's d effect size of 3.79, categorized as "large effect." This research provides a variety of exercises that are more fun and adaptive for students. This variation can increase students' learning motivation and help overcome difficulties experienced when learning basic techniques, especially for students with different physical abilities.

Abstract

Perubahan budaya dan gaya hidup generasi Z, yang memerlukan pendekatan baru dalam mendisiplinkan siswa tanpa menggunakan hukuman fisik atau pendekatan militer. Tujuan utama pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pemahaman kepada guru mengenai prinsip disiplin positif sebagai alternatif untuk mengelola perilaku siswa secara lebih humanis, tanpa kekerasan atau penghukuman. Metode yang digunakan meliputi lokakarya dengan teknik coaching yang diawali dengan survey lapangan dan sosialisasi, kegiatan lokakarya serta pendampingan dan evaluasi yang merupakan upaya keberlanjutan hingga tahap implementasi. Lokakarya ini bertujuan untuk mengedepankan pendekatan humanis dalam menindak perilaku siswa, serta mendorong perubahan pola pikir siswa tanpa menggunakan sanksi fisik atau kekerasan. Hasil evaluasi pemahaman guru secara skor rata-rata pada tes awal sebesar 66.47 dan meningkat pada tes akhir sebesar 72.33 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil pemahaman peserta lokakarya dalam hal ini guru PJOK di Kota Palu mengalami peningkatan mengenai konsep disiplin positif dengan  dan telah di implementasikan di sekolah masing-masing. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka hendaknya ke depan kegiatan dilakukan dengan waktu yang lebih lama sehingga dapat melihat efek terhadap siswa bukan hanya pada tataran implementasi pada guru.

Abstract

Perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini perlu dirangsang dengan berbagai media dan kegiatan agar dapat berkembang secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kognitif berhitung melalui media loose parts pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di PAUD Al-Istiqomah. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yakni observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan yakni pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penerapan media loose parts anak-anak di PAUD Al-Istiqomah dapat meningkat perkembangan kognitif berhitungnya. Anak-anak semakin terampil menggunakan material loose parts sesuai ide dan imajinasinya, juga merasa senang dan tidak cepat bosan karena loose parts mudah ditemui, digunakan, dan dapat dibongkar pasang sesuai keinginan anak.

Abstract

This research aims to identify physical education teachers' perceptions of the independent curriculum. Quantitative descriptives were used in this research with a cross-sectional study design. The population is 56 physical education teachers spread across the city of Palu. The analysis technique uses descriptive statistics. The results show that the majority of respondents provided very positive support for the independent curriculum, with many feelings interested and finding it useful. However, there are still some respondents who doubt or disagree, indicating the need for more effective communication and deeper understanding to ensure broad and effective acceptance at all levels of education. The majority of respondents showed a strong interest in following developments in the independent curriculum, although there were doubts that needed to be overcome. Challenges in getting support were also apparent, with some respondents preferring other curricula and viewing the independent curriculum as a temporary policy. This emphasizes the importance of effective communication and transparency from the government. In particular, research shows that respondents have diverse views regarding the implementation of the independent curriculum in physical education.

Abstract

Sepak sila, as the most dominant technique in sepak takraw, requires a training model tailored to player characteristics. Therefore, it is essential to develop a training model that meets these needs. This study aims to describe the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the sepak sila basic technique training model in sepak takraw for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The study's subjects were fifth-grade students from SDN Taipa, with trials involving one teacher and 28 students. The results indicate that the development of the sepak sila basic technique training model in sepak takraw is feasible, with a validity score of 91.27% in the "very valid" category. This training model is also practical, scoring 94.44% in the "very practical" category. Additionally, this training model effectively improves fifth-grade students' sepak sila skills, with a Cohen's D effect size value of 7.196 in the "very large effect" category.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (Pondok Pesantren) play a central role in creating a language-rich environment that supports language acquisition, particularly Arabic as the primary language of instruction in religious studies. This study aims to explore in depth the role of musyrif (student mentors) in developing a language environment within the pesantren and its impact on the students’ language skills. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that musyrif serve as role models in language use, introduce proper language practices, and supervise daily language interactions. The language environment created by the musyrif has been shown to significantly improve students’ language proficiency in both Arabic and Indonesian. Despite challenges such as varying student backgrounds and maintaining consistency in language policy, this study recommends enhancing musyrif training, introducing more flexible language learning approaches, and utilizing technology to support the language acquisition process in Islamic boarding schools.
