Abstract

Quality of Service is a mechanism of network that enables applications or service to operate as expected.This journal discusses about the performance analysis of wireless LAN consisting of some parameters i.e.throughput , packet loss , delay , and jitter. Method used in the research was action research. Overall, themeasurement of wireless LAN best average performance at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riauwas obtained in access point Akademika _ 04 at daytime measurement (13.00-15.30) at a distance of 5meters by throughput 383 kbps, packet loss 4 % , delay 96 ms , jitter 19 ms and signal strength -43 dbm. Theworst average performance was obtained in access point Akademika _ 01 at morning time measurement (09.00-11.30 ) at a distance of 20 meters by throughput 110 kbps , packet loss 48 %, delay 433 ms , jitter 72ms and strong signal -67 dbm..Keywords : wireless LAN, Quality of service.

Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a very efficient high speed data transmission technique in wireless communication technology. This paper discusses the performance of OFDM system using Hamming Code. OFDM system using BPSK modulation schemes, operating under various channel conditions. To imitate the practical applications in the real world Rayleigh channel, Rician channels are also considered in addition to the AWGN channel. The simulation is done to investigate the performance of the coded OFDM system over the uncoded OFDM system. It is seen that coding improves BER performance of OFDM system and hence in this work, Hamming Code is used as single error correction.Keywords : OFDM, BER, Hamming Code, AWGN, rayleigh and Rician channels.

Abstract

Video chat is a communication that allows users to chat and can see the other person's face directly. Video chatting requires a good network to transmit audio and video data in a short time. This paper examines the performance of three mobile network provider (Provider A and Provider B Provider C) in a video chat in the area Marpoyan and the effect of time when doing video chat on the performance of each provider. The method used is the method using packet sniffing software wireshark to see Quality of Service (QoS) generated by each provider. QoS parameters analyzed such as delay, jitter, packet loss and throughput. Analysis results of data from experiments conducted showed that the best time to do video chat for three provider is at early morning (at 00:00 to 06:00), while the worst time to do video chat on Provider A and Provider B at daytime (12:00 to 18:00) and Provider C at night time (18:00 to 00:00).Keyword: Video chatting, QoS, Packet sniffing

Abstract

FM modulator is a device used for the modulation process. Modulation is a process to lay the information signal on carrier signal for reduce interference and noise when signal ispropagated. The information signal has 3,4 KHz in frequency , and will be modulated with 19 KHz (carrier signal). FM modulator is designed with PLL (Phase Locked Loop) method, itused the concept of phase signal locking . FM modulator with PLL method consist of four blocks, that is oscillator colpitt, phase comparator, second orde LPF butterworth and VCOwienbridge. Design of FM modulator trainer begins with calculate to determine the component value which suitable with cut off frequency. The next process to make the layoutof the pcb board, dissolution layout, pcb board drilling, mounting the female connectors to pcb board, installation of component connectors to the header, and make a box to placetrainer FM demodulator. The results obtained at each signal fm demodulator block is different. Abstract

Universitas Riau menggunakan media Fiber Optik (FO) untuk mendukung penggunaan internet dan intranet. Saat ini, UR menjalin kerja sama dengan PT. Telkom yang menyediakan koneksi internet dengan bandwidth 90 Mbps. Sementara untuk jaringan backbone local, yang menghubungkan antar gedung di lingkungan UR dan terhubung ke gateway internet, digunakan FO dengan topologi star. Sistem multimode dengan topologi star yang tidak memiliki jalur cadangan yang berbeda dari jalur utama dan telah berumur 15 tahun lebih, tidak akan mampu untuk mendukung kebutuhan bandwidth, performa yang diinginkan dan reliability dalam waktu mendatang. Perancangan jaringan baru dengan estimasi bandwidth, peforma dan reliabity yang mendukung berbagai layanan ke depannya dilakukan dengan memperhitungkan power budget, risetime budget dan bandwidth. Demi mendukung kebutuhan bandwidth dalam 30 tahun lebih ke depan, dialokasikan bandwidth 1 Gbps.

Abstract

Saat ini, koneksi antara Universitas Riau Panam dan Universitas Riau Gobah hanya menggunakan fiber optic (FO) dalam komunikasi data. Perlu adanya komunikasi lain yang berfungsi sebagai koneksi cadangan apabila suatu saat komunikasi fiber optic(FO) tidak dapat di operasikan. Analisis Link Budget ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi sebagai langkah awal dalam perencanaan pembangunan perangkat radio WLAN antara universitas Riau Panam dan Universitas Riau Gobah. Pada penelitian ini, akan membandingkan hasil perhitungan Link Budget untuk koneksi radio WLAN 2,4 GHz antara metode perhitungan menggunakan software Radio Mobile version 9.5.0 dengan metode perhitungan secara teoritis. Analisis Link Budget yang diperoleh ditunjukkan oleh System Operating Margin (SOM) yang bernilai 26,6 dBm. Hasil ini telah melebihi batas minimal nilai SOM yang baik dalam suatu perancangan komunikasi radio yaitu 15 dBm.

Abstract

Kombinasi Frekuensi Radio dan Fiber Optik telah menghasilkan transmisi berkapasitas tinggi dengan biaya komponen yang lebih rendah dan menjadikan Radio over Fiber sebagai trend komunikasi broadband besar saat ini. Di bidang Fiber optik, penggunaan Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) telah diusulkan dalam penelitian terbaru dengan tujuan penggunaan yang berbeda. Namun, kompensasi metode dispersi Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) dapat meningkatkan kinerja sistem secara signifikan. Teknik Modulasi Optik pada Sistem RoF dapat dilakukan secara langsung maupun eksternal. Teknik modulasi langung memberikan keuntungan biaya yang lebih murah, namun dengan kinerja yang kurang baik. Jurnal sebelumnya telah menyelidiki peningkatan kapasitas kinerja sistem Radio over Fiber adaptif dengan modulasi eksternal. Pada jurnal ini, dilakukan Analisa kinerja sistem Radio over Fiber adaptif dengan modulasi langsung. Penganalisis diagram mata menunjukkan peningkatan yang dapat diterima karena penggunaan Fiber Bragg Grating sebagai kompensator dispersi. Dari hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa sistem RoF dengan adaptif FBG yang menggunakan modulasi langsung mempunyai nilai BER dan Q – Faktor yang masih memenuhi standar.

Abstract

Media information has a very important role in efforts to attract prospective students to join. A website needs to be improved in the era of large technological developments. One of the new information media that utilizes the latest technology is a virtual tour. If you look at some of the previous ones, making a virtual tour can be made using panoramic photos made with image stitching techniques from many photos and can also use 3-dimensional engineering results. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages. In this study, we will combine panoramic photos and 3D engineering to create a virtual tour of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Riau University. Virtual tour created using an equirectangular image base. There are 10 locations included in the virtual tour which four of them use panoramic photos and the remaining six places use 3D engineering. Four panoramic photos and six 3D-engineered equirectangular shapes are combined into one virtual tour. To validate the results of combining panoramic photos and 3D engineering into a virtual tour, user experience testing was conducted using a user experience questionnaire. User experience questionnaire was  distributed to 30 respondents. As a result, four scales are in the excellent category: attractiveness, dependability, stimulation, and novelty. Then two scales are included in the good category, namely perspicuity and efficiency, which get a value of 1.78. From the user experience perspective, virtual tours resulting from a combination of panoramic photos and 3D engineering in general can be considered very good. Then this combination of panoramic photos and 3D engineering can be used as a solution for virtual tour documentation if several locations are inadequate to document

Abstract

Village Information System (SID) is an implementation of e-government by the village government. The right of village communities to get real-time information can be hampered due to the skills and abilities of human resources and out-of-date information. The activity is focused on updating Village data and facilities through survey primary data collection. The results of the survey are up-to-date data, are integrated, and can be accessed online. The process of entering data into the SID will be continued by the Village Government Officials who manage the SID, for this reason, there is a need for a special briefing for Village Government Officials in a training activity in updating data on village facilities and infrastructure. Workshops in the form of training, practice and question and answer were carried out with feedback in the form of questionnaires before and after the workshop to assess the success of the program. The survey data that is input to the SID includes health facilities, religious facilities, agriculture, animal husbandry, plantations, educational facilities, village tourism potential, and potential disasters along with their evacuation points. This updated data is expected to be a reference for compiling the Teratak Village Development and workshop activities have been able to improve the ability of village government.

Abstract

Communication in the world is developing very rapidly, not only limited to voice but data communication. Many techniques have been used to support multimedia services. Radio over Fiber is expected to support communication for long distances. Therefore, a Comparison of Performance Analysis was carried out using optisystem. Radio over Fiber is simulated by radio frequency signals of 10 GHz and 15 GHz. Radio over Fiber technology for long-distance communication is very vulnerable to high BER and attenuation values, so it requires a mature system design and adequate equipment specifications.
