Abstract

Abstract

Adolescence is the transitional age from childhood to adulthood, and there are many changes during this period. The change that occurs is not only physical but also psychological. A lot of the stresses in the lives of teenagers make them look for ways to solve the problem. A teenager who can cope with problems well will go through adolescence well. However, there are some adolescents who are unable to cope with the problem, which will cause negative effects such as emotional instability. Because of these unstable emotions, teenagers use inappropriate ways to deal with their problems, such as self-harm behavior. This study aims to paint a picture of self-injury in adolescents. The study used descriptive analytical methods using the Self-Harm Inventory questionnaire for data collection. The research was carried out in the district of Sleman among teenagers aged 14–20 who were spread across 14 districts in Sleman. The total number of respondents was 1,362, taken using the cluster sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the majority of adolescents had low self-harm behaviors, with a percentage of 66.6%. However, attention should still be paid to adolescents who have high self-harm behaviors (a percentage of 3.4%). So further research is still needed to find out the various factors that affect self-injury behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

The popularity of social networking services has been increasing in recent years. Hundreds of millions of active users can pose a risk of information overload. These popular services have recommender systems that can capture user interests and provide users with potentially interesting information. It is different from the relatively new Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) social networking application, it does not yet have complete features, let alone a complex recommender system which causes user interest in using the application is low. Implementing this system on the YBB application will affect the flow of the existing system so that a comprehensive update is needed. The development uses the cosine similarity algorithm on the application search page. It is proven to be able to provide recommendations for users with an accuracy rate of 0.92. With this system, users are helped in expanding their network with other users who have the same interests.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Bacterial contamination in blood products can originate from the donor's body or the surrounding environment. Contamination may occur during the blood collection process. Transmission typically happens through the hands and body of the medical personnel, contaminated clothing, medical instruments, and the surrounding environment. Bacterial contamination is a highly influential parameter in indoor air populations, especially in healthcare environments. Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the presence and growth of bacteria on medical scissors and clamps in the blood collection room of the Indonesian Red Cross Sleman Regency. Method: This research employed a descriptive observational method to analyze bacterial growth on scissors and clamps collected from the blood collection room of Indonesian Red Cross Sleman Regency. A cross-sectional approach was used, in which data on potential risk factors were collected at a single point in time. Nutrient Agar (NA) was used as the culture medium in this study. Result: The results of the bacterial isolation indicated that the scissors and clamps in the blood collection room of the Indonesian Red Cross Sleman Regency can be considered sterile, as the number of bacterial colonies did not exceed the normal threshold of <30 colonies. Specifically, 2 bacterial colonies were found on the scissors and 2 on the clamps. Conclusion: The presence of only 2 colonies each on the scissors and clamps suggests that the instruments in the blood collection room of Indonesian Red Cross Sleman Regency are within acceptable sterilization standards.
