Abstract

This research aims to determine the development of mathematics education in Indonesia. To overcome this problem, teachers play a role in overcoming students' learning difficulties in mathematics subjects, especially in critical thinking skills. One alternative to solve this problem is to apply open ended learning. Open ended learning is learning that presents problems by solving problems in various ways and the solutions are also varied. This research aims to find out whether the critical thinking abilities of students using an open-ended learning approach are better than the critical thinking abilities of students using conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research with circle subject matter. The population in this study was all class VIII students, totaling 91 students. The location of this research is MTs Negeri 1 Solok. The sampling technique uses random sampling. The research instrument is in the form of posttest questions. The calculation obtained ????ℎ???????????????????? > ???? 0.95;41, namely 2.84 > 2.019 and ???????????????????????? = 0.983 at the significance level α = 0.05 so it is rejected. The experimental class average was 66.71 and the control class average was 54.73.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difference in learning facilities and student learning outcomes in class X of SMAN 5 Bukittinggi. Many students are found with high learning facilities, but the learning outcomes are not very satisfactory, and some are even below the KKM. The purpose of the study is to determine the significant influence between learning facilities on the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class X of SMAN 5 Bukittinggi for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This type of research is correlation research. The population in this study is 334 students in class X with a sample of 33 students. The sampling technique uses a simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is in the form of a questionnaire to find out the learning facilities at home and tests to obtain data on learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used linear regression equations, correlation coefficients, simple determination coefficients, and the significance of correlation coefficients. The results of the study were obtained from tcount  ttable, which is 2,252  1,696 which means that learning facilities have a significant effect on learning outcomes. Where learning facilities have an effect of 79.3% on mathematics learning outcomes. Where between the two variables there is a positive correlation of 0.35, with the regression equation obtained is Y= 22.8046+0.590X

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations, where students are not used to solving critical thinking problems, especially PISA questions. This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills in solving PISA questions. This type of research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. The sample in this study is 30 students of Class IX-F SMP Negeri 1 Bukittinggi. The data collection technique used is a test of critical thinking skills in PISA questions. The collected data is analyzed by the procedure of analyzing the results of the work, presenting the data and drawing conclusions. The results of the data analysis showed that students' critical thinking skills in solving PISA questions in class IX-F SMP Negeri 1 Bukittinggi as a whole were classified in the low category with a percentage of 52.6% and different for each indicator. This can be seen in the completion of students' pisa questions on 4 indicators of critical thinking ability, namely Interpretation is 67% in the high category, for the Analysis, Evaluation and Inference indicators are classified in the low category with 56.44%, 43.83% and 45.16% respectively. So it is concluded that the level of students' critical thinking ability in solving PISA questions in class IX-F SMP Negeri 1 Bukittinggi is classified as low

Abstract

Gender equality is a global trend that is a matter for discussion, including in mathematics learning. The ability to use gender-based technology is fundamental to improving the quality of learning. This research aims to describe differences in ICT use strategies by mathematics teachers and differences in students' technology use skills based on gender in mathematics learning. This research is qualitative research with a literature study approach. The indicators for mathematics teachers are viewed from the aspects of the teacher's level of knowledge of ICT, use of technology per hour per day and attitude. Meanwhile, the differences in the ability of male and female students to utilize ICT in learning mathematics can be noticed from the aspects of perception, students' experience and attitudes. The results of the discussion show that mathematics teachers in Indonesia tend to use technology not constructively or only as a learning tool. Female teachers have better strategies or approaches to teaching the integration of technology in mathematics learning while male teachers are more proficient in using or operating digital tools. On the other hand, male students' skills in using technology are better than female students. However, female students can also have the same abilities as males if they have a positive view of integrating technology into mathematics learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is very close to Islamic schools, so students are required to understand and master mathematics in order to optimize their devotion to Allah SWT. Learning in Islamic schools should be carried out in an Islamic manner and students should be able to solve mathematical problems. For this reason, Islamic integrated mathematical problem solving questions are needed in learning. This research aims to determine students' mathematics problem solving abilities (KPM) in solving Islamic integrated mathematics problems in class IV.B SDIT Haji Djalaluddin. The type of research used is descriptive research carried out using a quantitative approach. The subjects in this research were all class IV.B students at SDIT Haji Djalaluddin. The data collection used by researchers during research is by using test questions. The instrument used in this research is the Islamic Integrated Mathematics KPM test questions. Based on the KPM test, students in working on integrated Islamic mathematics questions in answering 3 problem solving questions can be seen in the form of a percentage for each question, namely for question number 1 it is 66.80% with good criteria, for question number 2 it is 54% with sufficient criteria. , for question number 3 it is 52.80% with less criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis dalam ‎pembelajaran matematika. Kenyataannya, beberapa penelitian di Indonesia menunjukkan kondisi ‎kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah. Kondisi yang serupa juga ‎ditemukan oleh peneliti di SMP Negeri 8 Bukittinggi. Faktor eksternal merupakan salah satu faktor ‎yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, salah satunya yaitu ‎pembelajaran yang diterapkan guru kurang tepat, serta kurangnya memaknai pembelajaran. Salah ‎satu solusi yang dianggap dapat menyelesaikan masalah tersebut yaitu pembelajaran dengan ‎pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini ialah untuk ‎mengetahui pengaruh signifikan dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap ‎kemampuan komunikasi matematis kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bukittinggi‎.‎ Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Pra – Eksperimen menggunakan rancangan penelitian ‎The Static Group Comparison. Populasi dari penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 ‎Bukittinggi. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu Random Sampling, dengan ‎sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII.4 sebagai kelas Eksperimen dan kelas VIII. 2 sebagai ‎kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis.‎ Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis ‎siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran ‎dengan ‎pendekatan RME lebih baik dari pada siswa yang ‎mengikuti ‎pembelajaran dengan pendekatan ‎deduktif dikelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 ‎Bukittinggi‎. Hal ini ‎dibuktikan dari perolehan nilai uji hipotesis ‎dengan nilai dan , ‎dengan demikian dengan taraf kepercayaan α = 0,05 Artinya diterima. ‎Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dengan pendekatan Realistic ‎Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP ‎N 8 Bukittinggi.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of students. This math anxiety can be an obstacle for a person to be able to understand math. This study aims to determine the influence of mathematical anxiety on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi. This type of research is correlational research. The population in this study is all grade VII students totaling 304 students of SMP N 4 Bukittinggi. While the sample in this study is class VII.A. The sampling technique is carried out randomly using cluster random sampling. The instruments used in this study are mathematical anxiety questionnaires and mathematical concept comprehension ability test questions. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression. The results of the study can be concluded that there is an influence of mathematical anxiety on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students in grade VII of SMP N Bukittinggi. This can be seen from the linear regression equation, which is Y = 30.014 - 0.209X from the result, mathematical anxiety has a negative effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts

Abstract

This research was motivated by the problems found in class VIII SMPN 1 2x11 Kayutanam, namely low student learning outcomes, lack of student knowledge about the material being taught, lack of active involvement of students in the learning process. The aim of this research is to find out that students' mathematics learning outcomes using the Active Knowledge Sharing strategy are better than student learning outcomes using conventional learning. This type of research is pre-experimental research with a research design, namely The Static Group Comparison Design. The population in this study were all students in class VIII of SMP N 1 2X11 Kayutanam. The sample in this research was class VIII.1 students as the experimental class and class VIII.2 students as the control class. The instrument used is an essay test. Based on the results of the final test analysis calculated using the t-test, tcount = 5.04 and ttable = 1.67. Because tcount > ttable. So, reject H0 and accept H1. So, it can be concluded that students' mathematics learning outcomes using the Active Knowledge Sharing strategy are better than student learning outcomes using conventional learning in class VIII SMP N 1 2x11 Kayutanam Academic Year 2022/2023

Abstract

Penelitian ini didorong oleh lemahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memecahan masalah matematika, disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan metode yang tidak beragam. Salah satu solusi yang diusulkan adalah penerapan metode pembelajaran fishbowl. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah guna mengevaluasi apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang memakai metode fishbowl lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan metode kovensional di kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek. Jenis penelitian ini ialah pra-eksperimen dengan desain The Static Group Comparison. Populasi penelitian mencakup semua kelas X di SMK Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek, dimana kelas eksperimen ialah X AKL dan kelas kontrol ialah X Busana 1. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan dan , yang berarti sehingga ditolak. Kesimpulannya, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar memakai metode fishbowl lebih baik dibandingkan yang diajar memakai metode kovensional di kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek.

Abstract

The integration of technology in mathematics education is a tangible manifestation of the rapid development of the times. Therefore, teachers must use technological devices to ensure students stay competitive in the global arena. This study aims to describe the distribution of TPACK skills among pre-service mathematics teachers and monitor their development during their microteaching experiences. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The participants in the study were eleven students at UIN Sjech M Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi who were taking a microteaching course in the even semester of 2023/2024. The instruments used were the TPACK questionnaire and observation sheets. Based on the observation, in the first session, some subjects were unable to use or operate the software they had downloaded, and many quiz applications encountered problems because they could not be opened. The challenges faced included paid software and issues operating the software on different laptops. It is suspected that one student did not attend because she was not prepared to present. Additionally, the development of skills for each TPACK aspect generally showed improvement in subsequent sessions. The subjects generally used presentation slide applications such as Microsoft PowerPointTM and CanvaTM to explain the material and conducted evaluations by giving quizzes through applications such as QuizizzTM, KahootTM, WordwallTM, and BamboozleTM. The results show that the students' skills based on the TPACK Questionnare were at a moderate level with an average score of 3.38. However, there are differences between the results of the questionnaire and the observations carried out. For instance, in the aspect of Technological Pedagogical Knowledge especially for item "I can utilize available technologies as a learning aid". The questionnaire showed a high rating 3.63. On the other hand, observations indicate that students' abilities are still lacking, indicating that students have much to learn, especially in the use of technology in the learning process to enhance the learning environment in mathematics.
