Abstract

Abstract: Barongan Hamlet is part of Donorojo Village, Tegalrejo District, Magelang Regency. In October 2022, Barongan Hamlet is in the top position for the number of stunting cases in the Donorojo Village area. The number of cases of stunting was recorded in 8 children out of 15 children aged < 5 years. In addition, there were 2 pregnant women, one of whom was detected as having KEK (chronic energy deficiency), so that they have the potential to give birth to stunted babies. One of the factors causing stunting is the lack of knowledge about nutrition during pregnancy and toddlerhood. Seeing the potential and natural resources of the Barongan area which is a rural area, the PPMT Team has a program to optimize the potential for local wisdom of family medicinal plants (toga), especially highly nutritious plants and baby/toddler massage. This activity was carried out using educational methods for cadres, youth, pregnant women and mothers of toddlers in Barongan Hamlet about risk factors, causal factors, prevention and management of stunting in the community. PPMT Team will train cadres, pregnant women and mothers of toddlers in utilizing highly nutritious plants that are easily found in the surrounding environment and doing Tui Na massage for toddlers. This activity is expected to support the resolution of stunting cases and prevent the emergence of new stunting cases. The results of the education and training activities carried out are an increase in knowledge about stunting, an increase in skills in empowering highly nutritious plants as a menu variation for toddlers, and skills in practicing Tui Na massage for toddlers. Keywords: Stunting; Toga; Tui Na massageAbstrak: Dusun Barongan merupakan bagian dari Desa Donorojo, Kecamatan Tegalrejo, Kabupaten Magelang. Abstract

The continued increase in the number of people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in Indonesia is a serious problem. One of the big problems for people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is the emergence of complications of diabetic wounds. To date the strategy for treatment of diabetic wounds has been limited to the use of wound dressing, cell therapy and oxygen therapy. The problem is that the strategy is not fully successful. Thus, it is very important to look for new strategies to improve the quality of diabetic wound healing, such as by applying a combination of plasma medicine and local natural product, like the extraction of Daun sirih (Piper betle) leaves. Plasma medicine is a relatively new and multidisciplinary study involving plasma science, biomedical, pharmaceutical and other health sciences aimed at applying plasma to therapeutic health. Plasma is the fourth phase of matter, after the solid, liquid and gas phase. The medical aspects of plasma are related to the ability of plasma to produce biological molecules Reactive Oxygen and Nitrogen Species (RONS). If RONS is controlled in the right dosage it can be efficacious for health therapy. This study intends to examine the effects of combinative treatment of plasma medicine and Piper betel leaf extract for proliferation phase of wound healing in diabetic small animal model. This study used male Balb c mice with acute wounds which were divided into 5 groups, namely groups of untreated normal mice (ND-TP), groups of untreated diabetic mice (D-TP), groups of diabetic mice wounds with Piper betel leaf extract (DS ), the wound group of diabetic mice with plasma medicine (DP) and the wound group of diabetic mice with plasma medicine and Piper betel leaf (DPS). The plasma medicine was treated on wound with condition non-contact style (the plasma jet did not touch the wound) with a distance of plasma jet reactor nozzle to the surface of wound about 20 mm, for 2 minutes, every day. Macroscopic observation of wounds is carried out every day from day 0 to 7. On day 7 it was seen that the size of the wound area for D-P-S was smaller than the other groups. The results of this study indicated that Piper betel leaf extract can potentially be used to optimize the performance of plasma medicine in accelerating diabetic wound healing during the proliferation phase. Further investigation, however, is important to be conducted to study the effect for all phases of wound healing and its mechanism histo-pathologically.

Abstract

Preoperative care begins upon the patient’s arrival in the operating room and continues until their transfer to the operating table. This stage is often associated with heightened anxiety among patients. Despite the prevalence of this issue, limited research has been conducted to evaluate the effect of Holy Qur'an recitation in alleviating preoperative anxiety. This study aimed to determine the effect of listening to Qur'an recitation (Murattal) on anxiety levels in preoperative patients in the Surgical Ward. A quasi-experimental design was employed, incorporating a pre-test and post-test with a control group design. The sample consisted of 32 respondents selected through non-probability purposive sampling. The intervention involved a single 15-minute session of listening to the recitation of Surah Al-Mulk via MP3 headphones, followed by a post-test evaluation. Statistical analyses included the Shapiro-Wilk test, homogeneity test, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test, with a significance threshold set at p < 0.05. The findings demonstrated a significant reduction in anxiety levels among preoperative patients following the Murattal Qur'an therapy. This suggests that Murattal therapy is an effective method for reducing anxiety and may serve as an alternative or complementary approach to managing anxiety among preoperative patients. Abstract

Enhanced Recovery After Caesarean Section (ERACS) is a method that is currently being widely developed, one of which is for mothers undergoing cesarean sections. The use of ERACS enables postpartum recovery time to be faster, thus improving mobility, accelerating labor recovery, and providing other benefits such as enhancing the quality of care and reducing the use of consumables. However, not all mothers and hospitals use ERACS. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference in conscious recovery time in the recovery room between patients post-surgery using the ERACS method and the conventional method at RSUD Soerojo. This comparative study uses a quantitative approach, quasi-experimental, with a control group design. The population includes all post-cesarean section patients using spinal anesthesia, with the sample being post-cesarean section patients using ERACS and the conventional method. There is a significant difference between spinal anesthesia techniques with ERACS and the conventional method in terms of accelerating the recovery time of post-cesarean section patients in the recovery room, with a significance value of 0.000. The use of ERACS should be considered for all mothers undergoing cesarean sections in all hospitals if there are no contraindications

Abstract

Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease characterized by elevated blood pressure. However, studies on the use of water immersion to reduce hypertension are scarce in the literature. Therefore, this study aims to provide an overview of the application of warm water foot soaks with a mixture of salt to reduce blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension. The research design for this study utilizes a case study approach with purposive sampling. The author systematically observed hypertension patients and collected factual data. A sample of elderly patients with stage 1 hypertension, aged 56 years, was selected. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study indicates that warm water foot soak therapy with a mixture of salt can reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure after 6 sessions, with each session lasting 15–20 minutes. The application of warm water foot soaks with a mixture of salt can lower blood pressure due to the dilation of blood vessels, which reduces muscle tension and increases tissue metabolism. Warm water foot soaks with a mixture of salt appear to be an effective method for reducing blood pressure in elderly patients with hypertension. Further research is recommended to explore this therapy's long-term benefits and potential applications. Keywords: Health innovation; healthcare professionals; complementary therapy for hypertension; warm water soak; chronic illness.
