Abstract

Abstract

The module is a generalization of the vector space. The module that will be discussed is a uniserial module, which is a module that only has one composition series. A uniserial ring is a ring whose module over itself is uniserial. The uniserial ring is an Artin and local ring, but the converse is not necessarily true. In this paper, we will discuss Artin and local ring with additional properties so that it is characteristics of the uniserial ring.

Abstract

One of the sciences used in digital security systems is cryptography. Cryptography is closely related to the integer system, especially prime numbers. Prime numbers themselves have been abstracted a lot. One form of abstraction of prime numbers is the prime ideal. Previous studies have proven that an Ideal  is said to be a prime ideal on  if and only if I is constructed by a prime element. Other studies have also shown how the prime ideal develops. One of them is the research result of Dauns, where the prime ideal form is developed in the form of a prime submodule. A prime submodule is one of the objects in the module, which is an abstraction of prime numbers. Based on these things, it is exciting if the properties of the prime submodule are applied to other module forms, one of which is the integer module.

Abstract

The community engagement activity carried out by the teaching team from the Mathematics Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Mataram to SMAN 1 Selong has successfully introduced students to the importance of statistics and game theory in decision-making. Through stories and real-life cases, students are encouraged to consider factors such as averages and standard deviations in making informed decisions. They also learn about the story of John Nash, who discovered game theory, and compare it to the economic principles of Adam Smith. Students realize that collective interests can lead to better outcomes than personal interests. In the case of The Prisoner's Dilemma, students also see the importance of game theory in the context of collective decision-making. Overall, this activity helps students understand the importance of statistics and game theory in the decision-making process.

Abstract

In chemistry, graph theory has been widely utilized to address molecular problems, with numerous applications in graph theory and ring theory within this field. One of these applications involves topological indices that represent chemical structures with numerical values. Various types of topological indices exist, including the Wiener index, the first Zagreb index, and the hyper-Wiener index. In the context of this research, the values of the Wiener index, the first Zagreb index, and the hyper-Wiener index for zero-divisor graphs on the ring of integers modulo a prime power order will be explored through a literature review and conjecture.

Abstract

Graphs are an intriguing topic of discussion due to their numerous applications, particularly in chemistry. Topological indices derived from graph representations of molecules enable us to predict various properties of these compounds, including their physical characteristics, chemical reactivity, biological activity, toxicity, and atom-to-atom interactions. More recently, graphs have also been utilized to depict abstract mathematical objects such as groups. A notable example of graph representation in group theory is seen in power graphs. This research explores new graph topological indices based on vertex degrees, inspired by the Euclidean metric, particularly the Sombor index, and its application to the power graph of the integer modulo group and the dihedral group. The primary outcome of this study is the derivation of a general formula for the Sombor index and its generalization.

Abstract

Nilpotent graph of ring integer modulo is one of the graph representations in algebraic structures. This study aims to find out the shape and properties of a nilpotent graph of ring prime numbers modulo which is then generalized to a ring of integers modulo with arbitrary prime power. The method used in this research is a literature study. In the ring of integer modulo, we get the shape of a nilpotent graph as a star graph. Then, the characteristic of a nilpotent graph on a ring integer modulo with arbitrary prime power is that it contains a complete subgraph and contains a number of as a star subgraph.

Abstract

A topological index is a numerical value that provides information about the structure of a graph. Among various degree-based topological indices, the forgotten topological index (F-index) is of particular interest in this study. The F-index is calculated for the zero divisor graph of a ring R. In graph theory, the zero divisor graph of R is defined as a graph with vertex set the zero-divisors of R, and for distinct vertices a and b are adjacent if a · b = 0. This research focuses on the zero divisor graph of the commutative ring of integers modulo 2ρn where ρ is an odd prime and n is a positive integer. The objectives are to determine the set of all zero divisors, analyze the vertex degrees of the graph, and then compute the F-index of the zero divisor graph. Using algebraic techniques, we derive the degree of each vertex, the distribution of vertex degrees, and the number of edges in the graph. The general expression for the F-index of the zero divisor graph for the ring is established. The results contribute to understanding topological indices for algebraic structures, with potential applications in chemical graph theory and related disciplines.

Abstract

This research was carried out in July 2023 in Muara Sungai Dumai, Dumai City, Riau Province. This study aims to conduct depth mapping analysis using echosounders based on reference corrections to tides. Tidal analysis is performed to determine reference values such as MSL (Mean Sea level) and tidal characteristics. The methods used are survey methods and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the waters of the Dumai River Estuary were mixed tide prevailing semi-diurnal with a formzahl value of 0.29. There is tidal asymmetry with the time to the high tide faster than the time to low tide. The depth ranges from 0.28 to 7.34 m, increasing to 40 m in the Rapat Strait. The weak current and the difference in HHWL values of 3.55 m and MSL 0.14 m affect water level rise due to bathymetric changes at high tide.
