Abstract

This study aims to understand and analyze the legal implications between mahda worship and gairu mahda worship in the book of taharah Bidāyah al-Mujtahid wa Nihāyah al-Muqtaṣid. The problems that the researcher raises in this study are: first, how is the construction of the division of worship into mahda and gairu mahda; second, what is the urgency of categorizing worship into mahda and gairu mahda; third, what are the implications of categorizing worship into mahda and gairu mahda on the determination of law in the book of taharah Bidāyah al-Mujtahid wa Nihāyah al-Muqtaṣid. The type of research used in this study is library research. The approach methods used are Islamic law approach, textual approach, and comparative approach. The research findings are: first, worship based on its type is divided into two, mahda worship, namely worship whose 'illah is unknown and gairu mahda worship, namely worship whose 'illah is known. Second, with the categorization of worship as mahda and gairu mahda, a mujtahid is able to distinguish which laws can be likened because its 'illah is known and which cannot be likened because its 'illah is unknown. Third, the categorization of mahda and gairu mahda worship has implications for the book of taharah Bidāyah al-Mujtahid wa Nihāyah al-Muqtaṣid in several issues; ablution and bathing after janabah, washing hands before putting them into a vessel, wiping the head more than once, rukhsah wiping the khuf, and tayammum. The implications of this research include being able to help in determining the correct laws and practices of worship in daily life, especially in the issue of taharah. In addition, by understanding the reasons for the differences among scholars which are rooted in the different categorizations of mahda and gairu mahda worship, Muslims can be more aware in responding to differences of opinion.

Abstract

This research aims to teach Arabic about understanding the meaning of prayer readings for residents of the Manggala Makassar Governorate Housing Complex. The problem raised in this research is the extent of the public's understanding regarding prayer reading and the solution, namely the form of implementing an Arabic language training program. This type of research is qualitative research using interview and participant observation methods, starting with observing the conditions of the Manggala Makassar Governorate Housing community using SOAR analysis which then produces work programs and activities. The results of the activities show that the implementation of this research was carried out for two months with an agenda of pre-test, implementation of activities and post-test. Before attending this training, most of the participants did not know the meaning of prayer readings and a small number knew little of the meaning of prayer readings. After attending this training, participants will be able to know the meaning of prayer readings. The post test with a written test instrument from the participants showed very satisfactory grades/scores, namely that they passed the test with a minimum score of 60 to 100. Participants felt there was a significant change in their prayers. The implication of this activity is that it is recommended that activities like this should be continued in other places in general and especially around the Manggala Makassar sub-district and collaborate with religious institutions and government support.

Abstract

This study elaborated one phenomenon that occurs in Indonesia, particularly after the appeal issued by Indonesian Government and Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) for people to avoid crowded places including the mosques. People responses vary greatly so is with community leaders; of course, the response is the result of their understanding so far. This research used a descriptive qualitative method by using data related to theology that develops in Islam, namely Qadariyah, Jabariyah, and Ahlussunnah in particular in response to the policy of government and scholars on preventing the outbreak of Covid-19. The results of this study show that there are three groups who address the issue of destiny in different ways. First, Jabariyah is a group that only relies on Allah, but denies effort. Second, Qadariyyah, is a group that denies destiny, only does efforts but forget the reliance on God. Third is the middle group, Ahlu Al Sunnah wal Jamaah, which combine reliance with effort in matters of destiny. If it is analyzed carefully, among the three theological schools, the easiest one to support the maximization of government policy and the instructions of scholars in Indonesia is Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah. They combine belief in destiny with effort to maximize the achievement of the reliance process towards destiny.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the prohibition of inter-caste marriage in Ngafan Village, Southeast Maluku, and Islamic legal views on caste marriage in the customs of the Kei tribe, especially in Ngafan Village, Southeast Maluku Regency. This research is descriptive qualitative research with the type of field research (Field Research). The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews and documentation. The results showed that: 1) The prohibition of inter-caste marriage (not equal) carried out by some people in Ngafan Village is the prohibition of marriage between women from the Mel-Mel caste (highest caste) and men from Riy-Riy (lowest caste). If there is a marriage between these castes, it depends on their family, if they agree then the marriage is still safe, but if they refuse the marriage can be canceled. 2) In Islamic law the scholars differ on the issue of caste (equality) in marriage. Jumhur ulama said that the caste referred to in marriage is religion, independence, social strata and, descent. Imam Malik said that the caste in question was the religion and was free from diseases that were deemed incurable. Meanwhile, the al-Ẓahiriyyah mazhab said that only Muslims were the conditions for marriage. The scholars do not require that caste be part of the legal requirements of marriage, but caste is included in the category of luzu> m requirements, a condition that allows a female guardian to request an annulment of marriage if the male partner is not in the same caste. So the prohibition of marriage is not equal in Ngafan Village can be justified based on the opinion of some scholars. The implementation of this research is expected to contribute theoretically and practically to religious leaders, parties with special interests, and society in general.
