Abstract

Indonesian is the most effective language used in communication. Language has a very important role when conveying information. In the communication process, the obstacle that often occurs in the communication process is the lack of language skills. Usually, the form of language skills is due to language errors. These language errors are very common in our environment, namely errors in newspapers, magazines, banners, television, social media, theses, and so on. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Which aims to explain a phenomenon in depth and is carried out by collecting data as depply as possible. What is meants by the descriptive method is a pr. The results of this study found many writing errors that were not based on Indonesian spelling guidelines. Of course, the error is found on social media, namely writing errors on gojek, instagram, where the writing does not use capital letters.

Abstract

Foreign language vocabulary learning can be pursued if the students have motivation and interest in which psychological factors play an important role in enacting learning strategies toward increased skills. This study aims to examine the integrated process model of the BasicPsychological Needs (BPN) variable as a behavioural phenomena in relation to autonomous and controlled motivation individually or collectively toward Vocabulary Learning Strategies (VLSs) and Vocabulary Skills (VSs). A total of 186 students of one university participated in this research. The Basic Psychological Needs of Second Language Scale (BPNSLS) was employed to assess the BPN, meanwhile the Self-Determination Theory of Second Language Scale (SDTSLS) was to assess the autonomous and controlled motivation. There are three questionnaires (BPNSLS, SDTSLS, VLSs) were adopted and adapted of the previous study. The fourth research instrument was Vocabulary Level Test (VLT) version b to assess vocabulary skills. A partial least square was used to contest the research model. The structural model of the relationship between the variables of basic psychological needs, self-determination theory, vocabulary learning strategies, and vocabulary mastery, revealed that vocabulary learning strategies play a crucial role in looking at the influence of motivational orientation on vocabulary skills described in the proposed model. This study suggests that further research can explore more on how motivation relates to learning strategies in general and comparing between autonomous versus controlled motivation.

Abstract

The problem is the rapid spread of contamination that can infect humans and can lead to infection. In addition, these infections can be devastating if not treated promptly. Moreover, regardless of the community, the absence of fake information and news can increase the number of victims of the disease. Thus, public authorities are trying to conquer this problem, one of which is through correspondence. With regards to, the motivation behind this. This study is expected to describe the government's local government advertising correspondence methodology in overcoming the chaos over the emergency Covid pandemic news in the city of Batam in 2020, seen from the clear subjective exploration in the Batam City Government Advertising section. Scientists use Middleton's hypothesis in the book Cangara (2017) to discuss PR correspondence techniques. This examination is a kind of subjective exploration that aims to subjectively explain the research strategy. Methods of data collection using interview procedures as the main source of data. The example used in this investigation is the witness from the Batam Regional Government Advertisement. Deliberate Inspection This method is used because it requires tests based on the attributes they have made so that the selected test can provide appropriate data by concentrating on the purpose. While the examination of the data used is an examination of the Miles and Huberman Strategy data starting from data reduction, show of data and reaching a conclusion. The PR from the Batam Regional Government has been great and precise in planning and conducting correspondence methodologies in overcoming the chaos of information about the Covid pandemic emergency in Batam. Abstract

The employment BPJS policy towards employees in a company in batam city is an obligation for the owner of the company to perform his obligations in managing the rights for employees who work in his company, such as in terms of managing BPJS, namely BPJS Employment and BPJS Health. This is done because, to guarantee employees against the existence of work accident insurance programs (JKK), old age insurance (JHT), pension insurance, death insurance (JKM) and health insurance. That way, company owners and the government must work together to give rights to company employees. The purpose of this analysis can be carried out because it is to be able to provide a bridge for the welfare of workers based on a program against employment social security, which will always be committed to protecting and welfare for a working employee and his family. This analysis is carried out on the basis of retrospective policy analysis methods and descriptive methods. Which, systematically, factually and accurately about the facts, and obtains information in real or based on news, magazines, and based on journals. By conducting this analysis, not only does it produce a goal, but there are also suggestions in this analysis, namely to improve employees in their work, and to be able to give confidence to their employees in ensuring the safety of their distance in the company, especially in the city of Batam. which is known as the city of industry.

Abstract

Chocolate-flavored milk drinks, including Milo, have become icons in the beverage industry with a long history that continues to grow. In Indonesia, the food and beverage industry, including dairy beverages, is experiencing rapid growth, but faces stiff competition. The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of brand image, product quality and promotion on the purchase decision of Milo products in Batam City. This study uses quantitative and descriptive, the population used is buyers or those who consume Milo products in Batam City, using the slovin formula with the results of the calculation of 100 respondents. In this study, the multiple linear regression analysis method was used with the help of SPSS 27. The results of the study can show that the brand image variable (X1) obtained a t-count value of 4.015 > t table of 1.984 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05, a product quality variable (X2) obtained a t count of 2.252 > a t table of 1.984 and a significant < of 0.05, a promotional variable (X3) obtained a t count of 4.003 > a t table of 1.984 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. Brand image, product quality, and promotion have a significant influence Purchase decisions are aimed at the value of f hutung 46.641 > t table 2.70 and significant 0.000 < 0.05. The R2 value of 58.0% and the remaining 42.0% were influenced by other variables that were not mentioned in this study.

Abstract

Kata is a significant thing in karate, the aim of this service is to form the young generation of karate and become athletes who excel, especially KATA or karate moves and to form kohai-kohai performances in playing kata, especially kata hean sandan. Kata hean sandan is the third basic kata in karate and is usually played by karateka who hold a yellow to green belt. This kata is also competed in festival and open classes. Apart from that, practicing kata to form the kihon or basic movements of an athlete, when playing this kata you will see the perfect kihon form. Besides that, kata can train and improve a karateka's concentration. The theory used in this analysis is Nakayama's theory, (1979). The method used in this analysis is the direct field survey method. This method will observe the forms of movement carried out by kohai-kohai karate. This method will also act directly and revise movements that are deemed inappropriate. The result of this method is that the kohai's movements immediately change to a better shape.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kegiatan berupa pelatihan tentang Percakapan Bahasa Inggris, Dasar bagi Siswa-siswi SMAN 27 Aviari – Batuaji – Batam. Pelatihan yang diselenggarakan oleh Prodi Bahasa Inggris dan bekerja sama dengan pihak sekolah SMAN 27 tersebut. Materi pelatihan sudah disusun sedemikian rupa sehingga mampu setidaknya memberikan sedikit solusi bagi permasalahan siswa-siswi yang terjadi di zaman mileneal sekarang ini. Permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut antara lain, Siswa-siswi SMAN 27 Aviari kurang menguasai Bahasa Inggris dan mereka merasa tidak percaya diri dalam menggunakan Bahasa Inggris dalam komunikasi sehari-hari di lingkungan sekolah ataupun rumah. Pelatihan ini dilakukan mulai bulan November 2023 dan berakhir pada bulan Januari 2024 dengan sebanyak 5 pertemuan yang dilakukan secara berkala. Dari pelatihan ini dihapkan peserta pelatihan mendapatkan penyegaran peningkatan pengetahuan tentang penerapan percakapan Bahasa Inggris, Di akhir dari pelatihan ini peserta pelatihan diharapkan mampu berbicara Bahasa Inggris lisan dengan struktur yang sederhana, serta merasa percaya diri dalam menggunakan Bahasa Inggris sehari-hari.

Abstract

Storytelling is the scope of public speaking which concerns the way and art of speaking to other people or the public/audience. Therefore, telling stories requires repeated practice so that the speaker is confident and able to control himself and his audience. There are several things included in storytelling, namely MC/Host, Speech, Rhetoric, and so on. In conveying storytelling in public, you need skills in speaking and also literacy. Therefore, it is very important for speakers to master the material and stage by carrying out various kinds of training to develop literacy and grow self-confidence. To become a good speaker, you need to practice these two things. With storytelling training, speaking skills and literacy can be improved, especially for students in Batam, Riau Islands. This service looks at storytelling in improving students' speaking and literacy skills, exploring issues related to language learning and improving education. The design used is a qualitative research method. Data is collected through students' speaking and writing skills, as well as surveys and interviews with educators and students. In addition, community service activities are held to overcome barriers to language learning. Results showed that students who participated in storytelling activities showed significant improvements in speaking fluency, vocabulary use, and ability to compose detailed and clear literary descriptions.

Abstract

Learning to write scientific articles necessitates the development of creative ideas and concepts in order to produce high-quality work that is also novel. However, learning to write scientific articles has become uninteresting among students due to a lack of interest in reading, ineffective use of digital literacy services to obtain references, and difficulties in creatively expressing ideas in scientific writing. The research goal is to create a learning model for writing scientific articles based on blended learning and creative problem solving. The Plomp model is used in the research method, which has three stages: preliminary, prototype, and assessment. The research yielded a trilogy of models: model books, lecturer books, and student books. The trilogy of models is designed based on the results of needs and context analysis, analysis of learning model characteristics to write scientific articles in universities, and prototypes by designing model books, lecturer books, student books, and assessments. The assessment results show that: (a) the model book is 89,44%, the lecturer's book is 94,44%, and the student book is 91,67% very valid. (b) A practicality test revealed that 85% of model books, 85,71% of lecturer books, and 87,27% of student books were very practical. (c) The practical 87,602% very effective. The characteristics of the blended learning integrated creative problem-solving learning model for writing scientific articles are very interesting and creative when combined with two lecture methods between online and offline (hybrid) using blended learning to improve students' creative thinking skills. The learning process incorporates technology and blended learning components to help students understand and gain new experiences in creative writing of scientific papers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh brand image, perceived quality dan country of origin terhadap minat beli skincare Some By Mi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Populasi yang akan menjadi fokus penelitian adalah individu yang membeli atau menggunakan produk skincare dari merek Some By Mi di Kota Batam pada tahun 2023 yang tidak diketahui jumlah pastinya.Teknik penentuan sampel didasari dengan Lameshow yang menghasilkan 100 responden yang ditarik dengan purposive sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda, yang kemudian diuji melalui uji kualitas data, uji asumsi klasik, uji pengaruh dan uji hipotesis. Hasil analisis regresi linier berganda menunjukkan bahwa brand image memiliki pengaruh sebesar 38,3% terhadap minat beli. Perceived quality memiliki pengaruh sebesar 40,0% terhadap minat beli. Country of origin memiliki pengaruh sebesar 25,4% terhadap minat beli. Temuan pengujian dengan menggunakan koefisien determinasi (R2) menunjukkan bahwa brand image, perceived quality dan country of origin secara bersama-sama dapat menjelaskan sebanyak 80,3% dari variasi dalam minat beli. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa brand image, perceived quality dan country of origin, baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan, berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli Some By Mi. Kata Kunci: Brand Image; Country Of Origin; Perceived Quality; Minat Beli.
