Abstract

The background of this research, there are some students who do not foster a social spirit in their environment. The purpose of the research is to find out how the Civics teaching staff in fostering social character in students. Then the method used by doing a qualitative descriptive approach. This qualitative descriptive researcher uses by observing the problems that researchers raise, the findings will later be narrated in the form of words to get a conclusion on the problems that researchers raise. To make it easier for researchers, the instrument used is an open interview in order to explore information from Civics teachers about fostering the spirit of social character in students in depth. The results of the discussion that teachers have a big role in shaping the social character of their students, especially Civics Education teaching staff because it is required that students can practice what has been stated in the values of Pancasila. The big impact of the success of the Civics Education teacher is to give birth to a generation with a religious spirit, honesty, discipline, responsibility, care, tolerance, mutual cooperation, courtesy, self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of verbal reinforcement in the form of praise on students' learning motivation in the Pancasila Education subject in class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Kampung Rakyat in the 2024-2025 Academic Year. The approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that verbal reinforcement in the form of praise has a significant effect on increasing students' learning motivation, the results of a simple linear regression equation are obtained as follows: Y = 43.345 + 0.408X1. Based on these calculations, it can be seen that the linear regression coefficient value of the Verbal Reinforcement (Praise) variable (X) is 0.408 with a positive sign at sig 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05, namely 0.000 <0.05. So, it can be interpreted that Verbal Reinforcement (Praise) (X) has a positive effect on the Pancasila Education Learning Motivation of Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Kampung Rakyat (Y). This shows that with every good Verbal Reinforcement (Praise) (X), there will be an increase in the Motivation to Learn Pancasila Education of Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Kampung Rakyat 0.408. This finding indicates that the use of verbal reinforcement such as praise can be an effective strategy for teachers in increasing student learning motivation, especially in the subject of Pancasila Education. Therefore, verbal reinforcement is recommended as part of teaching practices to create a positive learning environment and support student development holistically

Abstract

The background of this service is that there is a lot of cow dung in Wonorejo Hamlet that is not managed properly, even just piled up in the pen. The use of cow dung as organic fertilizer in the Wonorejo Hamlet environment aims to improve the economy and soil fertility in the village. The method used to achieve the targeted results by involving 6 students with the target community being Wonorejo Hamlet which has 73 Heads of Families with 13 cows. In carrying out this service, the team conducted observations to find out the problems in the community environment, continued with the division of tasks and technical implementation of the service. The results of this service are that the community knows about good farming methods by utilizing the existing cow dung so that it provides fertility to the soil and increases the income of residents. By means of fermentation through stockpiling for two weeks, it can be used for oil palm and vegetable plants.ABSTRAKPengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan kotoran sapi di Dusun Wonorejo yang tidak terkelola dengan baik, bahkan hanya menumpuk di kandang. Pemanfaatan kotoran sapi menjadi pupuk organik di lingkungan Dusun Wonorejo bertujuan meningkatkan perekonomian dan kesuburan tanah yang ada di Desa tersebut. Metode yang digunakan agar mencapai hasil yang di targetkan dengan melibatkan mahasiswa sebanyak 6 orang dengan target masyarakatnya adalah Dusun Wonorejo yang berjumlah 73 Kepala Keluarga dengan jumlah ternak sebanyak 13 ekor sapi dan di laksanakan pada bulan November 2024. Dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini tim melakukan observasi guna mendapatkan permasalahan yang ada di lingkungan warga, di lanjutkan dengan pembagian tugas dan teknis pelaksanaan pengabdian. Hasil dari pengabdian ini masyarakat menjadi mengetahui tentang cara bertani yang baik dengan pemanfaatan kotoran sapi yang ada sehingga memberikan kesuburan pada tanah dan menambah pendapatan warga.

Abstract

This article describes the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills using the Mind Mapping learning model. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Bilah Hulu junior high school, Labuhanbatu regency, North Sumatra province. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research which are divided into pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II to find a comparison of improvement through observation and test question. This result showed a very significant increase throughout the cycles. In pre-cycle activities, only seven people got the Very Creative category with a score of 28,06%; in Cycle I activities, eight people got the Very Creative category with a score of 33,3%, then in the Cycle II activity, the number of students who got the Very Creative category increased significantly with a score of 61,09%. Based on this result of increases, it can be analyzed that the Mind Mapping learning model or technique can improve students’ critical thinking skills in the aspect of communicating and collecting facts observed by observers in making concept maps. Keywords: critical thinking ability, Mind Mapping, Civic Education learning ABSTRAK Artikel ini mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui model belajar Mind Mapping. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Bilah Hulu, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu, Sumatera Utara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas menggunakan prasiklus, siklus I, dan siklus II untuk mencari perbandingan peningkatan melalui observasi dan tes soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang sangat signifikan; pada kegiatan prasiklus hanya tujuh orang mendapatkan kategori Sangat Kreatif dengan skor 28,06%, kemudian meningkat pada kegiatan Siklus I yakni 8 orang mendapatkan kategori Sangat Kreatif dengan skor 33,3%, kemudia pada kegiatan Siklus II jumlah siswa yang mendapatkan kategori Sangat Kreatif melonjak dengan skor 61,09%. Berdasarkan kenaikan pada hasil tes maupun observasi, dapat dianalisa bahwa model belajar atau teknik Mind Mappng dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam aspek mengkomunikasikan serta mengumpulkan fakta yang diamati oleh observer pada pembuatan peta konsep. Abstract

Sexual violence is an act of intentionally insulting, degrading, harassing, or physically assaulting someone, which can harm someone. This outreach program aims to increase students' knowledge of sex education and how adolescents can prevent sexual harassment. This community service program uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, a method that involves engaging with students. This activity is carried out directly, starting with observation, coordination, and obtaining permission from the local school principal regarding the activity plan. This includes arrangements regarding the availability of space, time, and participants. The material presented relates to insights into sexual violence, types of sexual violence, the impacts of sexual violence, and laws that regulate and protect victims of sexual violence. The role of schools in preventing sexual violence and protecting students' human rights has not been optimally implemented due to the lack of specific regulations and the formation of an anti-violence task force. Furthermore, school efforts also lack a structured handling process. Therefore, it is necessary to provide education and knowledge regarding the laws that regulate and protect victims of sexual violence. The results of this activity show an increase in knowledge, affective skills, and understanding regarding cases of sexual violence because preventing sexual violence is a shared responsibility that requires the active involvement of all elements of society.ABSTRAKKekerasan seksual merupakan salah satu tindakan yang secara sengaja menghina, merendahkan, melecehkan, dan menyerang fisik, secara sengaja yang dapat merugikan seseorang. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk menambah tingkat pengetahuan siswa terkait edukasi seks, serta bagaimana sikap remaja mencegah terjadinya pelecehan seksual. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode PAR (Participatory Action Research) yakni sebuah metode dengan cara pendekatan terhadap siswa-siswi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara langsung dimulai dengan melakukan observasi, koordinasi, dan perizinan dengan kepala sekolah setempat terkait rencana kegiatan. Hal ini mencakup pengaturan mengenai ketersediaan tempat, waktu, dan peserta. Materi yang dipaparkan terkait wawasan mengenai kekerasan seksual, jenis-jenis kekerasan seksual, dampak kekerasan seksual serta hukum yang mengatur dan melindungi korban kekerasan seksual. Peranan sekolah dalam upaya pencegahan kekerasan seksual dan perlindungan HAM pada siswa belum dapat dilaksanakan maksimal, disebabkan belum tersedianya peraturan khusus dan satgas anti kekerasan yang dibentuk. Selain itu, upaya sekolah juga belum memiliki alur penanganan yang terstruktur. Sehingga perlu diberikan edukasi dan pengetahuan terkait hukum yang mengatur dan melindungi korban kekerasan seksual. Hasil kegiatan ini memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, afektif serta pemahaman terkait kasus kekerasan seksual karena pencegahan kekerasan seksual merupakan tanggung jawab bersama yang memerlukan keterlibatan aktif dari seluruh elemen masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) dalam pembentukan sikap tanggung jawab siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 3 Marbau, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Utara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru PPKn berperan penting dalam membentuk sikap tanggung jawab siswa melalui berbagai strategi, seperti pemberian contoh teladan, pengintegrasian nilai-nilai moral dalam pembelajaran, serta pengelolaan lingkungan kelas yang kondusif. Selain itu, penerapan metode diskusi, studi kasus, dan proyek kelompok mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap pentingnya tanggung jawab dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan meliputi dukungan dari lingkungan sekolah dan kerjasama dengan orang tua. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya peran guru PPKn dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang bertanggung jawab sebagai bagian dari pendidikan karakter di sekolah.
