Abstract

A well-thought-out and flexible extension plan is crucial to promoting higher small-scale farmers' incomes. Farmers may boost agricultural output and compete in a larger market by using an appropriate extension strategy. Finding the key elements influencing young people's interest in growing organic broccoli in Sumberejo Village, Batu District, is the goal of this research. Knowledge, experience, and information are among these elements, which are often divided into two categories: internal factors (such intrinsic qualities) and external ones (like social environment, education, and familial influence). Sumberejo Village was selected due to its excellent potential for growing broccoli and Batu City's favourable soil conditions. The analytical technique known as structural equation modelling, or SEM, enables the testing of causal links between variables in the study model. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficient reliability test findings indicated that all items were valued at ≥ 0.6, suggesting that the research instrument was deemed practicable and trustworthy. To gather research data, the questionnaire was subsequently given to 60 responders

Abstract

Shallots are very good for cultivation. The demand for shallots comes from the onion-based industry and household consumption where they are used as cooking ingredients and traditional herbs. With the high market demand for shallots, it becomes an economic opportunity to improve the economy of farmers. One of the problems of shallot cultivation is the low quality of the soil in the form of soil properties such as physical properties, biological properties and chemical properties of the soil and decreasing soil fertility. One effort to improve soil properties and increase soil fertility is by adding soil conditioners in the form of biochar. The purpose of writing this journal is to review the results of previous research in identifying the effect of bamboo biochar application on the growth of shallots. The method used is the library research method. The application of biochar has an effect on the growth of shallot plant yields, in addition the application of biochar can increase the microbial population in the soil.

Abstract

Indications of pest and disease attacks during plant growth cause a decrease in fruit quality. Fungi cause local or systemic symptoms in their host, and these symptoms may occur separately in different hosts, simultaneously in the same host, or one following the other in the same host. Diagnosis and identification of pathogens on a laboratory scale in kepok banana plants in Ngada Regency have not been conducted. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the pathogens causing various disease symptoms in banana plants so that it can serve as preliminary data for further research related to pathogen disease management and information for farmers. This research aims to inventory and identify pathogens causing diseases in banana plants. This research method uses a survey method (purposive sampling) and observation in the plant disease laboratory. The results found several pathogens associated with kepok banana plants, namely Fusarium wilt disease (Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium graminearum) and bacterial wilt disease (Pseudomonas solanacearum and Ralstonia solanacearum).

Abstract

Potatoes are a potential food crop to be cultivated because they contain carbohydrates, protein, minerals and vitaminsand are able to meet people’s demand for food supply. Demand for potatoes comes from household consumption, restaurant businesses and potato based indrustries. Apart from providing food needs, potato cultivation can support the community’s economy. Therefore, potato cultivation needs to continue to be carried out optimally. One of the problems with potato cultivation is the decreasing quality of the soil due to the tendency tu use inorganic fertilizers so that soil fertility decreases. The solution implemented is the application of organic materials to improve soil quality and provide plant nutrients. The purpose of writing this article is to determine the effect to appliying organic cow dung fertilizer on changes in soil quality and potato plant growth. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with literature study techniques.

Abstract

The Ngada Regency area is one of the producers of kapok bananas on Flores Island. However, there has been a decline in kapok banana production due to the attack of blood disease and fusarium wilt. Therefore, it is necessary to address this issue. Determining the effects of applying the biological agent Trichoderma sp. to control fusarium wilt disease in banana plants, comparing the effects of different banana varieties planted on farmer fields infected with the disease, and identifying banana varieties that can interact with the mixed biological agent Trichoderma sp. and organic materials to suppress fusarium wilt disease are the objectives of this study. This study used a factorial pattern Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of two factors, namely: Banana type factor (J) consists of 4 levels and the application of Trichoderma sp mixture (D) consists of 4 levels, namely the Banana Type factor (J), consists of 4 levels, namely: J1 = King Banana, J2 = Ambon Banana, J3 = Barangan Banana and J4 = Kepok Banana. A combination of Trichoderma sp and manure application (D) is the second element. There are four levels of this combination: D0 (no Trichoderma sp), D1 (200 gr in 4 kg of manure), D2 (200 gr in 8 kg of manure), and D3 (200 gr in 12 kg of manure). The findings demonstrated that the rate of Fusarium oxysporum wilt infection was significantly influenced by banana species. Compared to plantains and banana kepok, banana barangan and banana ambon are more resilient to the rate of infection with Fusarium wilt disease (Fusarium oxysporum). The combination dose of Trichoderma Sp with manure has a very significant effect on the intensity of Fusarium wilt disease attack (Fusarium oxysporum) and the combination of Trichoderma sp 200 grams with 4 kg of organic fertilizer is better than the other 3 doses.
