Abstract

The increasing need for energy and the depletion of petroleum reserves forces people to seek alternative energy sources. Based on the above problems it is necessary to analyse of the availability of generating systems to generate electrical energy pekanbaru city. This study uses a HOMER simulation consisting of Solar Cell (PV), Wind, and Converter. Simulation results of the highest availability of solar energy at 12.00 for 3.86 kw, and wind energy at 16.00 for 3.79 kw.for grouping of the potential winds are in group II that is locations with an average wind speed of 2,5 – 4 m/s. the resulting solar energy can be used for small scale electrical energy conversion system.Design of wind turbine (PLTB) and solar power plants the most optimal based on net present cost of $ 53.18 and cost of energy (COE) amount 506.$/kWh. In terms of its economy, the greater the installed renewable energy capacity, will decrease fuel usage levels and cost incurred.Keywords: PV, Wind, renewable energy, HOMER, Optimazation, Sensitivity, Availability

Abstract

Distribution Network is one of the parts in a power system that has an important role because it deals directly with users, especially the users of medium and low voltage level. Therefore it needs a protection system against abnormal condition to maintain the reliability of the system. The protective equipment analyzed in this article is the overcurrent relay (OCR) and ground fault relay (GFR). The aim of the article is to determine the settings of OCR and GFR protection devices. By calculating the short circuit, the current and time settings of OCR and GFR can be determined. The short circuit current was simulated by using DigSILENT PowerFactory. It has been found from the results that time setting is influenced by value of short circuit current. The higher the fault current the the faster the trip time of the protection devices. Abstract

Solar energy in the form of light emitted (radiation) to the earth can be used as the main source to produce electrical energy directly by using the solar photovoltaic function (SPV) or also called the photovoltaic effect. The electrical energy generated from this SPV is in the form of a DC voltage. The energy produced by SPV needs to be researched to understand the characteristics of SPV in different places and conditions. The research conducted was to observe the SPV characteristics for weather conditions in Pekanbaru. Sunlight that radiates on the SPV was placed at an angle of zero degrees horizontally with the surface of the earth. The method that used to obtain SPV characteristics is stand alone solar photovoltaic testing by installing a rheostat (variable resistor) at the SPV output. it's value is 0-100 Ohms which will then be shifted from the largest value to the smallest rheostat value. From the tests conducted will produce SPV characteristic parameter data and can form curves I - V and P – V. The results of real-time measurements produce data to form a characteristic curve, ISC of polycrystalline solar photovoltaic type was 1.0232 V while monocrystalline solar photovoltaic ISC was 0.92912 V. The open circuit voltage (VOC) in both types of solar photovoltaics had the same value which was 20.41 Volts. Keywords: solar energy, solar photovoltaik, rheostat, curves, stand alone

Abstract

The short circuit disturbance in transmission line can cause supply to disturbance costumers. Therefore, the right protection system is needed to protect transmission line from this disturbance. Analyzed protection equipment in this reseacrh is distance relay protection. In this tool, setting of the right impedance and delay time are very important. Therefore, aim of this reseacrh is to calculate the zone setting (from 1 to 3) and time delay setting of distance relay by using DIgSILENT Power Factory. The setting results from DIgSILENT are compared with manual calculations, found that setting of zone 1, zone 2 and zone 3 are 4,253 Ω, 7,657 Ω and 18,780 Ω, respectively. The time delay settings between zone 1 and zone 2 -3 are (T 2) 0,4 s (T 3) 1,2 s, respectively. As conclusion it has been found distance relay can be operated correctly as expected.Keywords : transmission line, short-circuit, distance relay, DIgSILENT

Abstract

The continuous demand for electrical energy by industries and domestic users have stressed the electricity consumption to a high level. Because most components of domestic and industrial systems are made of power electronics devices in their designs. In addition, modern electrical power distribution networks (DNs) are subjected to major disturbances. Consequently, today’s power system is laden with power quality problems such as excessive energy losses, voltage deviations, poor power factor (PF), voltage instability and reliability issues to mentioned just a few. To forestall these disturbances, Distribution Engineers have introduced the use of Custom Power Devices (CPDs) in order to reduce power losses so as improve power quality. Amongst CPDs, Distribution Static Compensator (D-STATCOM) proves most promising in minimizing power quality issues because it generates minimal harmonics, waste less power, has small size, high regulatory capability and cost effective. Researchers in recent years have focused on methodologies required for identifying the most suitable location and rating of D- STATCOM device based on divergent views. However, to date, only one author has so far reviewed a paper on this aspect of study. This paper discusses the latest study on appropriate installation and rating of D-STATCOM techniques for balanced and unbalanced radial distribution networks (UBRDNs). The paper has also provided a comprehensive literature study on the location of DSTATCOM in RDNs for power loss reduction and power quality enhancement. Comparative analyses of various techniques for development of DSTATCOM Objective functions and constraints; Merits and Demerits are presented.

Abstract

An aerator is a device that utilized to produce dissolved oxygen in water through a diffusion process. Generally, the aerators employed by farmers are operated manually by an operator. The design and utilization of a smart device such as the Zelio Smart Relay is one of the objectives of this article. With the use of smart relays, it is expected that the presence of operator can be eliminated and able to reduce operational cost. The type of aerator discussed in this article is a dual turbine aerator. Each turbine has 6 blades. In order to have the smart relay to operate properly, at least 2 (two) sensors are needed as inputs, namely the light intensity and the temperature sensor. Furthermore, dissolved oxygen levels in water are categorized as high (30 mg / L) if the light intensity is higher than 100,000 lux and the temperature lower than 350 C. It shows in the results that the implementation of aerator has the capabilty to increase dissolved oxygen from 8 mg / L - 14.4 mg / L in 45 minutes, therefore the quantity and the quality of dissolved oxygen required by shrimp farming can be fulfilled properly.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Aerator adalah salah satu alat bantu yang berfungsi untuk memproduksi oksigen terlarut dalam air melalui proses difusi. Sampai saat ini, aerator yang dimanfaatkan oleh para petani pada umumnya masih bersifat manual dengan cara dioperasikan dan dikendalikan oleh tanaga operator (manusia). Perancangan dan pemanfaatan teknologi cerdas seperti Zelio Smart Relay merupakan salah satu bahasan pada artikel ini. Dengan adanya pemanfaatan smart relay tersebut diharapkan pekerjaan operator pada pertanian tambak udang dapat dipermudah dan mampu menekan biaya operasional. Jenis aerator yang dibahas pada artikel ini adalah aerator turbine ganda yang memiliki 6 buah sudu di tiap tiap kincirnya. Agar sistem kendali yang dirancang pada smart relay beroperasi dengan baik, maka diperlukan sedikitnya 2 (dua) buah sensor yaitu sensor intensitas cahaya dan sensor suhu yang terukur pada kolam (air). Selanjutnya kadar oksigen terlarut dalam air dikategorikan tinggi (30 mg/L) apabila intensitas cahaya > 100.000 lux dan untuk suhu < 350 C. Dari hasil penerapan aerator di kolam dapat diketahui bahwa aerator dengan penambahan Zelio Smart Relay ini dapat bekerja sesuai dengan perancangan, yaitu dapat meningkatkan oksigen terlarut dari 8 mg/L – 14.4 mg/L dalam 45 menit, dengan demikian kuantitas oksigen terlarut yang dibutuhkan oleh pertanian udang dapat dipenuhi dengan baik.

Abstract

Ketersediaan air yang cukup dan terus menerus merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan usaha di bidang pertanian dan perikanan. Selama ini usaha pertanian dan perikanan masih bergantung terhadap air hujang yang terjadi pada musin tertentu. Karena musim hujan tidak terjadi sepanjang tahun, maka usaha pertanian dan perikan di lokasi studi kasus (Desa Batu Bersurat Kabupaten Kampar) tidak dapat berlangsung secara berkesinambungan dalam satu tahun penuh. Oleh karena itu, tujuan utama artikel ini adalah membahas tentang penerapan pompa hydraulic ram pump (hydram) untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air di lokasi studi kasus mitra pertanian dan mitra perikanan tersebut. Pemilihan pompa hydram untuk menjamin ketersediaan air adalah bahwa teknik ini tidak membutuhkan sumber tenaga listrik sehingga dalam pengoperasiannya akan memberikan penghematan biaya operasional dan ramah terhadap lingkungan. Selain itu, artikel ini juga menganalisis tahapan demi tahapan pembangunan poma hydram hingga dapat beroperasi sesuai dengan rancangan yang telah dibuat. Dari hasil pengukuran yang diperoleh didapatkan kinerja pompa hydram adalah 0,5 L/menit sehingga untuk mengisi 2 buah tanki air dengan kapasitas total 2.100 L dibutuhkan waktu pengisian selama 35 jam.

Abstract

Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyraakat skema kemitraan, dosen Fakultas Teknik bersinergi dengan kegiatan Kukerta mahasiswa Universitas Riau melakukan program penambahan sistem penerangan di akses gerbang masuk dan keluar serta lingkungan Masjid yang sebelumnya redup. Direncanakan penerangan lsitriknya menggunakan lampu led berteknologi sel surya yang tingkat pencahayaan sesuai ketentuan Direktorat Jendral Bina Marga dan Pembinaan Jalan Kota sebesar 11-20 Lux. Untuk memenuhi kriteria tersebut dipilih sistem penerangan dengan tinggi tiang menyangga solar panel 6 meter, lampu led 60 W, dan daya solar panel 60 WP, dengan jangkauan penerangan dari titik bawah lampu radius 6 meter. Selama kegiatan proses pemasangan lampu penerangan yang dimulai dengan penggalian tanah untuk pondasi tiang penyangga, merakit solar panel 60 WP denganlampu LED 60 W, mendirikan tiang dan pengecor pondasi terlaksana dengan baik. Hasil pengukuran tingkat pencahayaan lampu dari titik bawah lampu radius 6 meter diperoleh 11 lux – 28 lux. Ini menunjukkan pemasangan lampu LED 60 W dengan catu daya solar panel 60 Wp dengan ketinggian lampu 7meter dari permukaan tanah menghasilkan tingkat pencahayaan yang sangat baik

Abstract

Village Information System (SID) is an implementation of e-government by the village government. The right of village communities to get real-time information can be hampered due to the skills and abilities of human resources and out-of-date information. The activity is focused on updating Village data and facilities through survey primary data collection. The results of the survey are up-to-date data, are integrated, and can be accessed online. The process of entering data into the SID will be continued by the Village Government Officials who manage the SID, for this reason, there is a need for a special briefing for Village Government Officials in a training activity in updating data on village facilities and infrastructure. Workshops in the form of training, practice and question and answer were carried out with feedback in the form of questionnaires before and after the workshop to assess the success of the program. The survey data that is input to the SID includes health facilities, religious facilities, agriculture, animal husbandry, plantations, educational facilities, village tourism potential, and potential disasters along with their evacuation points. This updated data is expected to be a reference for compiling the Teratak Village Development and workshop activities have been able to improve the ability of village government.

Abstract

Generally, solar PV Panel is constructed at fix tilted angle at different locations, such as: street light poles, rooftops, residential buildings, and canopy. The energy production from solar PV generation system is vary and influenced by site (location) and weather parameters. Solar PV generation analyzed in this research is Dual Axis Sun Tracker (DAST) Solar PV Generation. Dual axis sun tracker is a system controller to ensure solar PV panel following the sun path.  Furthermore, energy production from DAST-based solar PV generation were measured and collected using energy meter as well as by using automatic weather station for the weather parameters. From these measrument data, it can be correlated the influence of weather parameters to the energy production from DAST PV generation system. The correlation between weather parameters and energy production are analyzed by statistical analysis using SPSS software and multiple linear regression models. From the results and analysis, it can be shown the amount of energy production from DAST-based solar PV Generation are influenced by weather parameters, namely: temperature, humidity, ultraviolet radiation, and solar radiation with significant level up to 98.2%.
