Abstract

This article aimed to design and simulated the speed control of a three-phase induction motor using a PI controller with Space Vector Pulse width modulation technique. The induction motor  used in this article is was designed at the Electrical Energy Conversion Laboratory, Riau University, with a power of 1.1 kW, 380 V, 2-pole. Meanwhile, the PI controller constants used in designing this induction motor were determined using the Fine Tunning method to obtain KP and KI values of 3.539 and 9.526, respectively. The tests were carried out by running simulations in three conditions, namely no load, full load, and variable load at a speed of 2800 rpm. The test results showed that the use of a PI controller can improve the speed response of induction motors by eliminating the steady state error. This is in addition to increasing the rise time response of the motor speed by 0.012s and 0.046s at no load and full load, respectively, when the rise time analysis is at the same value. It can also accelerate the motor to reach a peak speed of 0.247 s and 0.166s at no load and full load. In addition, SPVWM with PI controller can maintain speed setting even though there is a load change during operation, which can be verified with load testing.

Abstract

Coal mines are generally located in very remote areas and so far from the reach of the power grid. This study designs a coal waste measurement device using solar energy as the power source. The parameter being measured for coal waste is its acidity level to determine water quality standards. The test results show that the photovoltaic (PV) system is capable of supplying power to the pH meter device for a duration of 24 hours with a battery capacity of 18 Ah. The total load of this system is 5.6983 Watts. With variations in load and different weather conditions such as clear, cloudy, and overcast, the solar panel voltage can effectively meet the load requirements within the voltage range of 16.7 volts to 20.9 volts.

Abstract

Artikel ini menggambarkan kegiatan pembangunan bendungan dalam rangka mewujudkan sistem irigasi berbasiskan pompa hydraulic ram (hydram) untuk petani sayur dan tambak ikan di Kelurahan Batu Bersurat, Kecamatan XIII Koto Kampar, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau. Pembangunan bendungan dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik setelah melewati 4 tahap utama, yaitu: pembersihan aliran sungai sebagai sumber air utama pada sistem irigasi berbasis hydram, pembuatan cekungan pada sungai yang berbibir batu cadas, membangun bendungan, dan pemasangan instalasi pipa buangan. Keberhasilan pelaksanaan seluruh tahap tersebut tidak terlepas dari kerjasama yang baik antara Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Riau dengan masyarakat selaku mitra petani sayur dan tambak ikan. Akhirnya, berhasilnya pembangunan bendungan ini dalam rangka pembangunan irigasi berbasis hydram perlu disempurnakan dengan mentransfer pengelolaan irigasi tersebut sehingga dapat beroperasi secara berkesinambungan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  As a new administrative region, Teratak Village, Rumbio Jaya, Kampar has not made the best use of the villages' potential for development. The PkM team at Riau University acts as Technical Assistance (TA), providing training and trainers for infrastructure updates and managing SID. The current infrastructure data entry in SID is used to compile RPJM-Des. Primary field data collection surveys were conducted with village officials and Kukerta students. The Teratak Village SID has been completed and is being used as a tool for new data entry in SID usage and management training. The community's aspirations, the village's vision and mission, and development priorities were used as guidelines for the preparation of the RPJM-Des. Training on using SID and simulating new data inputs as scheduled. The municipality, village officials, UMKM and administrators can enter new data and see the potential of the village in SID. RPJM-Des with participatory principles are evidence of good government (participatory, transparent and accountable). The obstacle to the preparation of RPJM-Des is the current information from the APBD district/province to prioritize village development as it must be in-line.  Keywords: Assistance; Development; Information; Infrastructure; Teratak   ABSTRAK Sebagai wilayah administratif baru, Desa Teratak, Rumbio Jaya, Kampar belum memanfaatkan potensi desa yang ada untuk dikembangkan dengan sebaik-baiknya. Tim PkM Universitas Riau berperan sebagai Technical Assistance (TA), memberikan pelatihan dan trainer untuk pemutakhiran infrastruktur dan pengelolaan SID. Entri data infrastruktur yang ada di SID digunakan untuk menyusun RPJM-Des. Survei pengumpulan data lapangan primer dilakukan terhadap aparat desa dan mahasiswa Kukerta. SID Desa Teratak telah selesai dibangun dan digunakan sebagai alat entri data baru dalam pelatihan penggunaan dan pengelolaan SID. Aspirasi masyarakat, visi dan misi desa, serta prioritas pembangunan dijadikan pedoman penyusunan RPJM-Des. Pelatihan penggunaan SID dan simulasi input data baru sesuai jadwal. Pemerintah kota, perangkat desa, UMKM dan pengurus bisa memasukkan data baru dan melihat potensi desa di SID. RPJM-Des dengan prinsip partisipatif merupakan bukti pemerintahan yang baik (partisipatif, transparan dan akuntabel). Kendala penyusunan RPJM-Des adalah informasi terkini dari APBD kabupaten/provinsi untuk memprioritaskan pembangunan desa karena harus sejalan. Abstract

Budidaya ikan lele merupakan salah satu usaha di Pondok Pesantren Markiz Daarul Qur’an Kecamatan Lipat Kain, Kabupaten Kampar Kiri dengan tujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari bagi santri yang ada di pondok. Kegiatan utama pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memanfaatkan teknologi tepat guna untuk pemberian pakan ikan lele di ponpes Markiz Daarul Qur’an sehingga kegiatan pemberian pakan ikan dapat diberikan secara teratur dan otomatis. Selain mempermudah dalam pemberian pakan juga mengurangi tingkat kanibalisme ikan lele, sehingga ikan lele dapat diproduksi dalam jumlah yang sama dengan padat tebarnya. Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan melakukan survei oleh tim pengabdian dan mahasiswa Kukerta. Kedatangan tim pengabdian disambut oleh pihak pesantren dan mengantar tim untuk melakukan pengecekan ke tempat kolam budidaya ikan lele yang menjadi tempat pemasangan alat teknologi tepat guna (TTG) pemberi pakan ikan otomatis. Kondisi kolam dalam keadaan baik. Padat tebar benih ikan lele yang dibudidayakan yaitu 750 ekor, dengan jadwal pemberian pakan pada tiga waktu yaitu, jam 07.00 WIB untuk pagi hari, jam 15.00 WIB untuk sore hari dan jam 21.00 WIB untuk malam hari. Penerapan TTG pemberian pakan ikan lele di ponpes ini secara tidak langsung telah membantu  biaya operasional dan penyelenggaraan pendidikan santrinya, karena kebanyakan berasal dari golongan masyarakat kurang mampu dan anak yatim dari berbagai usia.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim pelaksana pengabdian Universitas Riau. Lokasi kegitan pengabdian ini bertempat di Gedung Politeknik Pelayaran Sumatera Barat (Poltekpel Sumbar). Adapun kegiatan yang dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi penghematan konsumsi energi listrik pada bangunan tiga lantai di Politeknik tersebut. Secara umum, tahapa pengabdian ini terdiri atas survei awal dan survei lapangan, melakukan pengukuran system penerangan, menganalisis konsumsi energi system penerangan Gedung, dan membuat rekomendasi potensi penghematan konsumsi energi system penerangan. Program pengabdian ini telah dapat terlaksana dengan baik dimana pihak poltekpel sumatera barat teralibat aktif saat survei dan penyediaan data. Dari hasil survei dan evaluasi yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa kuat pencahayaan penerangan saaat digunakan pada malam hari masih dibawah ketentuan yang disyaratkan. Potensi penghematan konsumsi energi listrik yang dapat diterapkan adalah metode pendekatan efisiensi energi yaitu dengan cara penggantian lampu TL dengan lampu LED. Penghematan energi listrik yang didapat mampu mencapai 2.393,1 kWh/bulan.

Abstract

Distribution Network is one of the parts in a power system that has an important role because it deals directly with users, especially the users of medium and low voltage level. Therefore it needs a protection system against abnormal condition to maintain the reliability of the system. The protective equipment analyzed in this article is the overcurrent relay (OCR) and ground fault relay (GFR). The aim of the article is to determine the settings of OCR and GFR protection devices. By calculating the short circuit, the current and time settings of OCR and GFR can be determined. The short circuit current was simulated by using DigSILENT PowerFactory. It has been found from the results that time setting is influenced by value of short circuit current. The higher the fault current the the faster the trip time of the protection devices. Abstract

The increasing need for energy and the depletion of petroleum reserves forces people to seek alternative energy sources. Based on the above problems it is necessary to analyse of the availability of generating systems to generate electrical energy pekanbaru city. This study uses a HOMER simulation consisting of Solar Cell (PV), Wind, and Converter. Simulation results of the highest availability of solar energy at 12.00 for 3.86 kw, and wind energy at 16.00 for 3.79 kw.for grouping of the potential winds are in group II that is locations with an average wind speed of 2,5 – 4 m/s. the resulting solar energy can be used for small scale electrical energy conversion system.Design of wind turbine (PLTB) and solar power plants the most optimal based on net present cost of $ 53.18 and cost of energy (COE) amount 506.$/kWh. In terms of its economy, the greater the installed renewable energy capacity, will decrease fuel usage levels and cost incurred.Keywords: PV, Wind, renewable energy, HOMER, Optimazation, Sensitivity, Availability

Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the most important and often used energy in life. Therefore to keep the availability of electricity, it takes a power company that will manage the electricity needs. One of the things that affect to the reliability of the equipment is need to know the configuration of the electrical equipment protective device. As known that transmission line is very vulnerable to lightning strikes that produce a traveling wave. It can enter the substation and make the existing equipment in danger. Based on the problems we need to analyze the configuration and performance of the arrester against the impulse lightning. This study was conducted by simulating lightning strikes on equipment using ATP-EMTP software by varying the strike and the distance of the arrester protection for protected transformer in order to get the correct distance to minimize the optimum voltage. The result of the simulation by varying the distance from 3 m, 6.7 m, 9 m, 15 m, 21 m, 27 m, 28.5 m, the safer distance and the smaller peak voltage which is protected by the arrester to the transformer is 21 meters from the current variation at 10 kA, 30 kA, and 60 kA where the lowest peak voltage of phases A, B, and C are compared with other distances. Then the distance 21 m better than the distance of 6.7 m used by PT.PLN (Persero) Garuda Sakti Substation.Keywords: Arrester, ATP-EMTP, Arrester configuration.

Abstract

One of abnormal conditions that may happen when operating synchronous generator is overheating at armature winding. Therefore, this condition is needed to overcome to avoid further damage in the generator by designing and implementing smart relay based overheating protection. Temperature at armature winding is as an input of the smart relay where it was measured by using LM35DZ sensor. Magnetic contactor was used as switch, where it will open when the temperature higher then setting value. The overheat protection design was implemented successfully where it can trip (disconnect generator from the system by opening magnetic contactor) when the armature winding temperature is higher than 60° C.Keyword: Synchronous generator, armature winding, Smart Relay, Temperature Sensor, Zelio Soft 2
