Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) are currently one of the supporting factors for the economy in Indonesia. The development of the coffee industry in Indonesia has grown very significantly from year to year. The transition from MSME shops to franchise businesses has been observed. However, good financial knowledge or literacy is also a factor that determines success in a business. Based on this, this research was conducted to examine the relationship between financial knowledge, financial attitudes, and financial behavior on the performance of MSMEs. The results of this research show that financial knowledge encompasses a positive relationship with the execution of MSMEs. Financial attitudes and financial behavior have no influence on MSME performance. And based on simultaneous testing, financial knowledge, financial attitudes, and financial behavior have a positive effect on the performance of MSMEs. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Disclosure on the financial performance of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2019–2023. This study uses a quantitative approach with the panel data regression method and the Random Effect Model (REM) model, and involves 14 banking companies that meet the ESG data criteria based on GRI standards. The dependent variables used are Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), while the independent variables consist of the combined ESG score and each component E, S, and G, with company size and leverage as control variables. The results of the study show that simultaneously ESG disclosure does not have a significant effect on ROA or ROE. However, partially, only the environmental component (E) shows a positive and significant effect on ROE. In contrast, the social and governance components do not show a significant effect. In addition, company size is proven to have a positive effect on financial performance, while leverage does not have a significant effect. These findings indicate that ESG has not fully become a determining factor in the financial performance of banking in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of leverage, profitability, liquidity, profit growth, and firm size on dividend policy in the banking sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2023 period. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression to identify the influence of independent variables on dividend policy. The population in this study consists of all banking companies listed on the IDX, with 12 companies selected as samples using a purposive sampling method. The results show that leverage (DER), profitability (ROA), and firm size (FS) have a positive influence on dividend policy (DPR). Conversely, profit growth (PG) has a negative effect on dividend policy, while liquidity (CR) has no significant effect. Based on these findings, it is recommended that management maintain stable net income to ensure the company’s ability to pay dividends. This can be achieved through income diversification, operational efficiency, and a balanced profit allocation strategy. The novelty of this research lies in the change in the sector analyzed, namely the banking sector, as well as the extension of the analysis period covering five years (2019-2023). In addition, this study replaces the growth variable with Profit Growth to more accurately describe the company's potential to generate sustainable income. The variables analyzed in this study include Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Return on Asset (ROA), Current Ratio, Profit Growth, and Firm Size.

Abstract

Company Size, Leverage, and the Anomalous Year of COVID-19 on the financial performance (ROA) of construction companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (2017-2022) using panel regression. The findings reveal that the CFO has no significant impact on ROA. At the same time, Leverage negatively affects ROA, and Company Size positively affects it. The COVID-19 Anomalous Year significantly and negatively influences financial performance, highlighting the pandemic’s disruptive effect. These findings offer insights into financial performance factors, emphasizing the importance of adaptive management strategies during uncertain economic conditions. Public interest statements This study provides insights for construction companies and the general public on how financial strategies such as leverage and company size affect financial performance, particularly during a crisis like COVID-19. The findings suggest that while larger companies may perform better, high leverage can pose risks, especially in unpredictable economic conditions. These insights can help companies develop adaptive strategies to survive economic disruptions, emphasizing the importance of balanced financial management.
