Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the accuracy of four bankruptcy prediction models, namely Altman Z-Score, Springate, Zmijewski, and Grover, in predicting financial difficulties in property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2020-2023 period. The data used in this research includes the annual financial reports of the companies selected as samples. The research method involves analyzing quantitative data from financial reports of property and real estate companies on the IDX, using purposive sampling techniques. Descriptive and statistical analysis was carried out to assess the company's condition based on the prediction model used. Research shows that the Grover model has a high level of accuracy in predicting financial distress compared to the other 3 models. The Altman Z-Score model is also considered the most suitable for this sector (Laksita Nirmalasari, 2018; Reza Prabowo & Wibowo, 2015). The research results show that the Grover model has the highest prediction accuracy (73.84%) compared to other models. The Mann Whitney test shows a significant difference between the model prediction results and the company's actual conditions, indicating the importance of choosing the right prediction model to manage the financial risk of property and real estate companies on the IDX.

Abstract

This study aims to help beginner mutual fund investors in analyzing equity funds by knowing the characteristics of fund managers who tend to manage equity funds with outperforming performance and can minimize the total risk of the equity funds they have managed. The lack of knowledge on how to manage their funds is one of the reasons why investors choose equity funds. However, there is not a guarantee that the equity fund will have a better performance than the market. So that investors can suffer losses if they choose the wrong equity fund which was managed by the incompetent investment manager. This study uses a sample of 431 professional fund managers from 68 equity funds with outperforming performance in 2019.Using the multiple linear regression analysis method, this research has the results that a fund manager who has an economic education or having a CFA certification, can increase the value of excess return. Besides, by having a background in economic education, these managers can reduce the total risk of equity mutual funds they manage. However, the more experienced fund manager tends to have a higher total risk and a lower value of the excess return.Meanwhile, there are insignificant results on the value of excess return and the risk of equity funds if the fund manager has a technical education background or completing his education in the top 10 universities in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of disclosure of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in annual reports on the financial performance of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2020-2024. Using a quantitative approach and panel data regression method, this study evaluates the relationship between the frequency of disclosure of AI-related terms (AIFREC) and financial performance indicators such as Return on Equity (ROE), Net Interest Income (NII), Price to Earning (P/E) and Total Expenses (TEXP). The results show that the frequency of AI disclosure has a significant impact on market perception (P/E ratio), and negatively affects ROE but positively affects market value. In addition, internal bank characteristics such as asset size, proportion of independent board, and bank age also influence the level of AI disclosure. This study emphasizes the importance of transparency and communication strategies in the adoption of AI technology as part of the digital transformation of the banking sector, and encourages the need for more uniform AI reporting standards to increase investor confidence and operational efficiency.
