Abstract

Siwakan is the prophet's sunnah which aims to cleanse the mouth and teeth using araak wood (Salvadora persica). Woodwood contains various chemicals that can prevent plaque from appearing and have the potential to be antibacterial. Siwak can also be used to strengthen memorization because it can make a loss of laziness. The purpose of this study was to determine the benefits of sunny siwakan in health sciences and memorizing power. In this study used a library research where data will be obtained from books, journals, magazines, documents, records of historical stories, or pure library research related to the object of research. The results showed that Bachtiar from the Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia said araak wood contained trimethylamine (TMA) which was able to prevent plaque from forming a nest of germs so that teeth became healthy and other results from the Ta'lim Muta'allim book showed that civet could eliminate phlegm where phlegm is one of the causes of lazy memorization.

Abstract

Every word that is mentioned by Allah in the Qur'an, is related to giving lessons to humans or inviting people to think. In Al-Qur’an, Surah An-Nur:35, explained that the nature of Allah's light in the form of a parable, something that was known to the people at that time, namely the olive tree. Indonesian scholars interpret it as a coconut tree. This research uses literature study method with phenomenological analysis, functionalism analysis and critical analysis . The results are Coconut has an important meaning in Indonesian public belief. People believe that the coconut fruit is a symbol that represents the spiritual life of humans towards the divine. The use of the coconut fruit symbol has been used by Sufi scholars in delivering advice which is full of philosophical meanings. Each part of the coconut fruit has its own meaning representing a spiritual journey to the Divine. Coconut skin and coir as Sharia. The use of green coconut fruit as a medium for Sufi education is expected to provide Sufis with good and easy to understand learning so that Sufis can take the knowledge given by their teachers.

Abstract

Public belief regarding suwuk treatment and the use of azimat is ingrained even before it is scientifically proven . Several practices of suwuk and the use of azimat in society show a connection with the belief in Islam. This phenomenon becomes a social construction of suwuk and azimat which are considered to have many benefits from various times. The aim of this research literature to decrypt how to link the religion of Islam against suwuk and fetish practices and highlight the social construction suwuk and azimat in the view of modern society. The results of this study are suwuk and azimat are related to Islam because they use prayers that come from the verses of the Al-Qur’an. This is what makes suwuk and azimat still trusted and practiced in society, besides that the existence of scientific evidence about suwuk by researchers also makes suwuk easily accepted in modern society.
