Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of the English Speaking Club (ESC) organization in enhancing students' speaking skill at Hamzanwadi University. A qualitative method was adopted for the study, with ten ESC members from various programs and semester levels serving as the subjects. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Form. The results of this study indicated that the ESC organization effectively assisted students in improving their speaking skills, including pronunciation, vocabularies, fluency, and self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to understand feedback on English writing skills among high school students. Effective feedback is recognized as an important factor in developing students' English writing skills. This study adopts a qualitative approach to explore students' perceptions and experiences of receiving feedback from teachers or peers and how this affects their writing ability. The research method involved in-depth interviews with several high school students representing various levels of writing ability. The data collected was analyzed thematically to identify general patterns and differences in their perceptions of feedback and their writing abilities. In addition, questionnaires were also used to collect additional data about students' preferences and views on certain feedback. The results of the study show that constructive, specific, and directed feedback positively affect students' English writing abilities. Participants stated that supportive feedback and practical guidance were very helpful in improving the quality of their writing. In addition, this study revealed differences in feedback preferences between students with different levels of writing ability.

Abstract

Cooperative learning and online learning are two different approaches to education that have their advantages and disadvantages. The goal of the study to was find out the effects of using online learning and cooperative learning techniques at Senior High school in MUALLIMAT NWDI Pancor comprehension of EFL. The participants of this study were 31 students at MUALLIMAT NWDI PANCOR. To find out the effects of using online learning and cooperative learning faced by the data gained from observation and questioner were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The finding informs that there were three effects of using online learning and three effects of using cooperative learning at Senior High school. In online learning: 1) improve student’s problem-solving ability 2) improve student’s interaction on their learning 3) improve students’ strategies and assessment. In cooperative learning: 1) more comfortable 2) improve communications skills 3) promote social interaction. This study was qualitative research with a case study.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the impact of technology in enhancing English reading skills at the sixth semester of English education at universitas hamzanwadi. This study used a qualitative descriptive design taken by purposive sampling. There are 34 participants of this study. Observation, interview, and documentation is used to gather the data. The result of the observation showed that mostly of students are comfortable to use the new technology to increase reading skills. It is because of the new era that needs technology to learn. It is supported by the result of interview. The students said that it is easier to use e-book than books because it can apply by phone and so on. Additionally, the documentation is used to add the information from observation and interview. In conclusion, technology gives a good impact to increase students’ ability in reading skills.

Abstract

This article focused on the effectiveness of English Camp for increasing English speaking skill. The aim of the study was to improve students’ speaking skill. This study was quantitative using experimental design, the population was 22 students but the sample was 11, Purposive sampling was taken from students who had the lowest pre-test scores, the speaking rubric score was used to assess students’ speaking abilities. The research instrument uses a list of questions about the material that has been taught during one week. The average score of pre-test was 5.81 and the average score of post-test was 10.09. English camp also allowed teachers to experiment various methods in every meeting.

Abstract

By exploring how music aids in vocabulary acquisition, this study aims to determine the potential benefits of incorporating musical elements in English language classrooms. Its purpose is to assess whether pupils truly comprehend the techniques for employing students’ pronounce. The participants in this study were 50 second semester English majors at Hamzanwadi University. Because random sampling chooses samples at random, giving every member of the population an equal chance to be chosen, this study used random sampling to eliminate data bias. The investigation was qualitative. The qualitative descriptive method was employed by the researcher. To obtain competent data, the researcher conducted observations to evaluate students' ability by allowing them to recount repeated episodes and events from the past. Its purpose is to assess whether pupils truly comprehend the techniques for employing students’ pronounce.

Abstract

This article presents a study conducted at Lubna Children, Central Lombok, Indonesia. This article aims to discuss the use of role-play method in improving students' speaking skills. This study uses a qualitative research design with a case study approach. Data was collected through class observation and students' speaking tests before and after the application of the role-play method. This research has provided several significant findings related to the application of the role-play method in improving students' speaking skills at Lubna Children, Central Lombok. Role-play method in this study has proven its effectiveness in improving students' speaking skills at Lubna Children, Central Lombok. The role-play method can be considered an interesting and effective alternative for improving students' speaking skills in an educational setting.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate students' anxiety in writing journal article. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing purposive sampling with 23 participants from Englis education students at universitas hamzanwadi. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions. A prevalent theme that emerged from the data was the overwhelming pressure students feel to publish their research in academic journals. Participants expressed a sense of competition with peers and the need to meet institutional or departmental expectations for publication. This pressure often contributed to heightened levels of anxiety, as students feared the implications of not being able to publish their work. In conclusion, the analysis on students' anxiety in writing journal articles provides valuable insights into the emotional challenges faced by aspiring scholars during the publication process

Abstract

Language learning stands as a vital component of global education, fostering communication, cultural understanding, and personal growth. However, sustaining students' interest and motivation in learning a language can be a significant challenge for educators. This study explores the pivotal role of teachers' creativity in enhancing students' interest in language acquisition. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive research design with purposive sampling, the study gathers insights from language learners and teachers who have experienced the impact of creative teaching methods. Through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, the study examines how teachers' creativity influences students' engagement, intrinsic motivation, and language proficiency. The findings underscore the significance of engaging pedagogical strategies, such as gamification and storytelling, in capturing students' attention and enthusiasm. Moreover, the study highlights the importance of fostering a positive learning environment, where students feel empowered to express themselves and take ownership of their language learning journey.

Abstract

Analyzing students' involvement in teachers' teaching reflection can offer valuable insights into the effectiveness of classroom instruction. By encouraging students to participate in the reflection process, teachers can gain a better understanding of their strengths and areas for improvement. This study aimed to investigate students' involvement in teachers' teaching reflection and its impact on classroom. The participants of this study were 20 students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah NW Sikur. This study used qualitative descriptive research approach. There are two sorts of data sources in qualitative research: primary resources and secondary resources. The result revealed that students generally responded positively to being involved in teachers' teaching reflection. In conclusion, the analysis of students' involvement in teachers' teaching reflection and its impact on the classroom highlights the significant role students can play in shaping effective teaching practices and fostering a conducive learning environment.
