Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the IPAS subject on the material of the states of matter in grade IV at SD Negeri 128 Palembang. This is caused because the learning process still uses conventional methods, making students less active and less able to understand the material delivered by the teacher. This study aims to determine the effect of the Examples Non Examples learning model on IPAS learning outcomes for the material of the states of matter in grade IV at SD Negeri 128 Palembang. The research sample consisted of all fourth-grade students, comprising two classes, using a total sampling technique, with class IV.A as the experimental class and class IV.B as the control class at SD Negeri 128 Palembang. This study uses an experimental research method with a Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. Data collection techniques were conducted through tests and documentation. Student learning outcomes data were obtained through multiple-choice tests. The data analysis method uses quantitative analysis with normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the Independent Sample T-Test calculation show a t_calculated value of 3.922 with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000. Because the significance value 0.000 < 0.05, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Based on the research results obtained, it shows that there is an effect of the non-example example learning model on IPAS learning outcomes in the matter of different shapes in grade IV at SDN 128 Palembang.

Abstract

Basic locomotor movement skills are fundamental abilities that elementary school students must possess because they support physical activities and motor development. However, preliminary observations at SD Negeri 006 Palembang indicated that students' locomotor skills were still not optimal, particularly in agility, balance, and speed. This study aimed to determine the effect of the traditional block-running game on improving the locomotor movement skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 006 Palembang. This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 24 students from class V.B selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included the 4 x10 meter Shuttle Run test to measure agility, the Stork Stand Positional Balance test to measure balance, and the 30-meter sprint test to measure speed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample tests with SPSS version 27. The results showed that the average pretest score of 56.921 increased to 73.558 in the posttest. The paired sample test showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the traditional block-running game significantly affects the improvement of locomotor movement skills among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 006 Palembang. The traditional block-running game can be used as an effective alternative learning activity in physical education to improve students' locomotor movement skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of fourth-grade students at SDN 53 Palembang, particularly in understanding the content of short stories, determining the main idea, and concluding the stories read. This study aims to develop a learning medium in the form of a short-story book based on the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual (SAVI) approach that meets valid and practical criteria for use in Indonesian language learning for fourth-grade elementary school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) applying the 4D model, which consists of four main stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The short-story book medium was designed using the Canva Premium application in A5 size, integrating interactive activities based on the SAVI approach, including physical-activity columns, speaking/listening instructions, coloured illustrations, and reflective-thinking challenges. The results showed that the level of product validity based on expert assessment obtained an average percentage of 93.93%, categorised as very valid, while the practicality test through one-to-one and small-group evaluations obtained average percentages of 94.44% and 89.83% respectively, both categorised as very practical. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the SAVI-based short-story book learning medium is feasible, valid, and practical for use as an innovative supporting medium to increase student engagement and reading comprehension in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level.
