Abstract

ABSTRAK Literasi media memiliki berbagai definisi, berdasarkan latar belakang seseorang yang memberikan makna. National leadership Conference On Media Literacy mengartikan literasi media sebagai kemampuan individu untuk mengakses, menganalisis, mengevaluasi dan memproduksi media dengan tujuan tertentu. Perkembangan media dalam memberikan berbagai konten semakin sulit untuk di control. Sebagian besar konten dari media adalah bersifat hiburan. Sayangnya, berbagai hiburan yang saat ini di sajikan tidak lagi mementingkan etika dan norma-norma di masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi media para ibu rumah tangga di kabupaten karawang barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, studi pustaka, wawancara mendalam dengan beberapa ibu rumah tangga, observasi dan juga FGD. Teori yang menjadi rujukan adalah Social Learning Theory dan literasi media. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada berbagai media yang banyak digunakan oleh ibu rumah tangga, diantaranya penggunaan handphone dan media sosial, namun yang paling banyak digunakan adalah Instagram. Ibu rumah tangga menghabiskan banyak waktunya untuk berselancar di Instagram, namun mereka tidak menyadari berbagai dampak buruk yang ditimbulkan oleh Instagram ini. Ada beberapa ibu rumah tangga yang memahami betul mengenai pentingnya memilih konten media yang di akses, namun belum secara mendalam memahami dampak yang dapat ditimbulkan bagi anggota keluarga, terutama bagi anak-anak mereka. ABSTRACTMedia literacy has various definitions, based on the background of someone who gives meaning. The National Leadership Conference on Media Literacy defines media literacy as the ability of individuals to access, analyze, evaluate and produce media with specific goals. The development of media in providing various contents is increasingly difficult to control. Most of the content from media is entertainment. Unfortunately, the variety of entertainment that is currently being presented is no longer concerned with ethics and norms in society. This study aims to determine the ability of media literacy of housewives in West Karawang district. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, literature study, in-depth interviews with several housewives, observation and FGD. Theories being referred to are Social Learning Theory and media literacy. The results of this study indicate that there are a variety of media that are widely used by housewives, including the use of mobile phones and social media, but the most widely used is Instagram. Housewives spend a lot of time surfing on Instagram, but they are not aware of the various adverse effects caused by Instagram. There are some housewives who understand very well the importance of choosing media content that is accessed, but have not yet deeply understood the impact that can have on family members, especially for their children.

Abstract

The role of the family is very important to improve children's literacy skills, because the family is the smallest unit in society and is the first learning environment for children. Emotional closeness between children and parents can be used to instill good habits from childhood. The National Movement for Parents Reading Books to Children (GERNAS BAKU) is a movement to support the role of families in fostering children's interest in reading through habituation at home, in PAUD or in the community. PAUD Nurul Amal is one of the PAUD institutions in the city of Bandung that seeks to promote the GERNAS BAKU program so that the Beginning Reading Ability of early childhood children is increased. Activities carried out at the Nurul Amal PAUD institution for GERNAS BAKU include (1) holding a socialization on what GERNAS BAKU is. (2) Activities for parents to read books at school. (3) Further review is carried out through Gernas Baku Activities at home. Gernas Baku was successfully carried out at the PAUD Nurul Amal institution, it is proven that the early reading ability of children is increasing. This activity aims to teach parents how to get used to reading storybooks from an early age, strengthen social-emotional relationships between children and parents, and improve early reading skills in children aged 5-6 years.Keywords: Gernas Baku, interest in reading, early childhoodABSTRAKPeran keluarga sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi anak, karena keluarga merupakan unit terkecil dalam masyarakat dan merupakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang pertama untuk anak. Kedekatan emosional antar anak dan orang tua dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menanamkan kebiasaan baik sejak kecil. Gerakan Nasional Orang Tua Membacakan Buku Kepada Anak (GERNAS BAKU) merupakan gerakan untuk mendukung peran keluarga untuk menumbuhkan minat baca anak melalui pembiasaan di rumah, di PAUD ataupun di masyarakat. PAUD Nurul Amal adalah salah satu lembaga PAUD yang berada di kota Bandung yang berupaya menggalakkan program GERNAS BAKU agar Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan anak-anak usia dini meningkat. Kegiatan yang dilakukan di lembaga PAUD Nurul Amal ini untuk GERNAS BAKU di antaranya (1) mengadakan sosialisasi apa itu GERNAS BAKU. (2) Kegiatan Orang Tua membacakan buku di Sekolah. (3) Dilaksanakan tinjauan lebih lanjut melalui Kegiatan Gernas Baku di rumah. Gernas Baku berhasil dilakukan di lembaga PAUD Nurul Amal, ini terbukti bahwa kemampuan membaca permulaan anak menjadi meningkat. Kegiatan ini bertujan untuk mengajarkan ke orang tua cara membiasakan membacakan buku cerita sejak usia dini, mempererat hubungan sosial emosional antara anak dan orang tua, serta meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak usia 5-6 tahun.

Abstract

Archives have a very important role, so an institution must have good archive management starting from archive creation to archive shrinkage. This article discusses effective efforts or strategies in archive shrinkage and archive maintenance activities at the Archival Institute of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). The purpose of this research is to find out the strategies or methods carried out by the institution in the depreciation and maintenance of archives. The research method in this article uses a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis of literature review, and data collection techniques are obtained through observation, interviews, and literature study. Interviews were conducted with related archivists. Overall, this research focuses on best practices that can be done in archive management to improve efficiency and effectiveness of sustainability. The strategies discussed include paying attention to the Archive Retention Schedule, the process of destroying archives is also certainly based on predetermined rules, as well as efforts to maintain physical and digital archives that have been carried out by the UPI "University Archives" institution. The research results from the implementation of this strategy show that the archives have proven to be well maintained, increase efficiency, and have the potential for an archive institution to get a better award or accreditation from ANRI. This article is expected to make an important contribution in sharing best practices in archival information management. Thus, related parties can jointly develop and improve problems that become deficiencies in information management, especially archives, so that in the future it can always run well in supporting activities in any archival institution, be it from government or private agencies, certain companies, to universities.
