Abstract

This study was conducted by giving a five description test that has been validated to one of the upper classes. This research was conducted in class VII J SMP NEGRI 1 CILAMAYA WETAN with limited subject ie 6 students with high, medium, and low grade student classification. The results of the research were students' answers analyzed by the Watson error category. And the percentage of student error type in solving the problem of mathematical communication based on categories of error according to Watson is (inappropriate data/ ID) including into error which is high enough that is equal to 38%, (inappropriate procedure/IP) including into error which is quite high at 34%. (omitted conclution/OC) error is included to a fairly low error of 26%. While (ommited data/OD), (response level conflict/RLC), (undirected manipulation/UM), (skills hierarchy problem/SHP), and (above other / AO) of 0% each, including into very low errors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of solving mathematical problems of junior high school students in Kabupatan West Bandung with indicators of students' mathematical problem solving abilities that are used to identify known elements, questioned and adequacy of elements, selecting and implementing strategies to solve mathematical problems, interpret the results according to the initial problem , making a mathematical model of a situation or everyday problem, using mathematics meaningfully. This research was conducted to 31 students in one of Junior High School in Ngamprah Village, West Bandung Regency using qualitative descriptive method. Instruments used in the form of 5 items about students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the material quadrilateral and triangle with interviews to students. The conclusion of this research is the ability of mathematical problem solving of junior high school students in Ngamprah Village is still low.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical connections is an essential skill that must be mastered by high school students, as it will help master understanding of meaningful concepts and help solve mathematical problems through the interrelationship between mathematical concepts and between mathematical concepts and concepts in other disciplines even with applications in real-life students. This study aims to examine the ability of mathematical connections of students in one junior high school in Bandung on Social Arithmetic materials. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with the subject of research is 36 students of class VIII in one of the State Junior High School in Bandung. Instrument given in the form of description test as much as 3 problem each representing indicator ability and analyzed so that get data fulfillment indicator ability of mathematic connection. Based on the data analysis, the students 'mathematical connection ability is still low, so it is necessary to design the learning activities that can facilitate students' mathematical connection ability.

Abstract

This investigate is motivated by the low ability to comprehend the mathematical concepts of SMP students in KBB, so a learning approach is needed to decipher these problems. Alternative approaches are applied, namely the contextual approach. The method make use of in this investigate is an experimental method with a control group design pretest posttest. The population in this research were all junior high schools in KBB while the school sample was Kahuripan Lembang Middle School which was chosen based on school randomization. Sample class were taken randomly from the 4 classes of class 7 of Kahuripan Lembang Middle School, class 7-2 as the tentative class and class 7-4 as the control class. The tentative class uses contextual learning while the ordinary learning control class. The reason for taking class VII is because with deliberation in the semester one there are topics in the Triangle and Quadrangle that will be used in the study. The instrument in this investigation was a package of five test questions. The researcher can conclude that the achievement and repair of the capability of understanding The mathematical concept of SMP students who use a contextual approach is better than those using ordinary learning.

Abstract

This article is derived from the research result entitled “The Application of Problem Solving Approach in Improving Junior High School Students’ Mathematical Communication and Disposition Skill”. The research is purposed to see and analyze if there are some improvements in mathematical communication and disposition skill achievement of the students who have been treated using problem solving approach compared to the students who are still treated using conventional approach. The population of the research is all students at a junior high school in Subang regency. Out of these students,  40 students of class VIII D were chosen randomly as the experiment class, and 41 students of class VIII C have also been randomly chosen as the control class. The data in this research have then been analyzed using parametric and non-parametric statistic. The result of this analysis has shown that the achievement of experiment class students’ mathematical communication and disposition skill is better than the achievement of the control class students. The experiment class students’ mathematical disposition is also better than those of the control class. Lastly, the result also shows that there is some kind of correlation between the mathematical communication and mathematical disposition on the level of medium.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menelaah secara mendalam tentang kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis yang dipengaruhi kepercayaan diri siswa SMA. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA di Kota Bandung dan sampelnya sebanyak 27 orang yang ditetapkan dengan teknik purposif sampling pada salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis sebanyak 6 butir soal dan skala kepercayaan diri siswa sebanyak 33 skala pernyataan. Hasil penelitian ini memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa, kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMA dipengaruhi positif oleh kepercayaan dirinya sebesar 74,6%, sedangkan 25,4% dipengaruhi oleh faktor selain kepercayaan diri siswa. Kata Kunci: Berpikir Kritis Matematis, Kepercayaan Diri Abstract This study aims to analyze and examine in depth about the students’ mathematical critical thinking ability influenced by self-confidence. The study was designed in the form of experiments using correlational method with quantitative approach. The population in this research is high school students in Bandung and the sample as many as 27 people determined by purposive sampling technique in one of high school in Bandung. The instrument in this research is the test of mathematical critical thinking ability as much as 6 items and the scale of students' self-confidence as much as 33 scale statement. Based on the results and discussion, it is concluded that the students’ mathematical critical thinking ability influenced positively by self-confidence equal to 74.6%, while 25.4% influenced by factors other than student self-confidence. Kata Kunci: Mathematical Critical Thinking, Self-Confidence

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of student truancy behavior in SMP Kartika XIX-2. This type of research is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of class VII and VIII at SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. The sample in this study amounted to 152 students. The sampling technique in this study is saturated sampling, with the aim that each population is used as a sample. The data collection technique used was in the form of a questionnaire, which consisted of indicators of truancy behavior and factors causing truancy. From the results of the data analysis of truancy behavior there are 33% (50 students) truant behavior is categorized as high, 48% (73 students) are categorized as being truant behavior and only 19% (29 students) are declared low in truancy behavior. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it is known that there are 2 factors that cause truancy behavior, namely internal factors from within the child itself and external factors, namely from the surrounding environment, family, friends, and school environment.Keywords: : truancy behavior, truancy factor

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the achievement motivation of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Ngamprah. The subjects of this study consisted of 30 students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Ngamprah, while the sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, namely the technique of determining the sample with certain considerations, this study used quantitative descriptive research methods. The data collection technique is through interviews and observations, while the data collection tool used is the distribution of questionnaires using the grand theory indicators from Mc. Clelland. The results of the study obtained a picture of student achievement motivation, namely the need for achievement, which is 68.75% with a moderate categorization, where the need for power is 45.73% with a low categorization, and the need for affiliation (need for power). of affiliation) that is the need to obtain good social relations by 63.46% with moderate categorization. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that most of the students' achievement motivation is still classified as moderate, with an average of 64.33%.Keywords: Achievement Motivation, Students

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis permainan Word Search Puzzle terhadap pemahaman kosakata baku dan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VI di SD Negeri Jatiroke I. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental tipe non-equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VI SD Negeri Jatiroke I, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 50 siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, masing-masing terdiri dari 25 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes pemahaman kosakata baku dan angket motivasi belajar. Analisis data mencakup uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji-t, Mann-Whitney, gain ternormalisasi, serta uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PjBL berbasis Word Search Puzzle berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman kosakata baku siswa. Motivasi belajar siswa tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linear dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,565. Permainan edukatif seperti Word Search Puzzle mendorong keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran, tetapi belum mampu memberikan pengaruh statistik yang kuat terhadap motivasi belajar. Inovasi dalam penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi permainan dalam kerangka pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang menekankan pada kolaborasi, eksplorasi, dan kemandirian siswa. Model ini memberikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan sekaligus mendukung pencapaian kompetensi literasi kosakata baku. Hasil ini dapat dijadikan rujukan bagi guru untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis proyek yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan agar mengembangkan pendekatan yang mampu mengakomodasi dimensi afektif secara lebih menyeluruh.
