Abstract

Forecasting is a method for estimating a value in the future or the future using past data. For forecasting in this study conducted at PT. XYZ, where this company produces fertilizers and sells it in the city and out of town, in this research the researchers discuss forecasting product sales using the exponential smoothing method and also the linear regression method and re-accurate using the POM-QM application or software. The use of these 2 forecasting methods is to obtain forecasting results that have the smallest MSE value, and in this study the data were taken from the company PT. This XYZ is data in 2019

Abstract

Occupational safety and health are important factors at this time for employees so that they can do their work productively. This is done to reduce the impact of the risk of work accidents on employees and the company. The problem faced by the company is that there are work accidents that occur in mixer machines and production room areas that have an impact on employee safety and health. The HIRARC method is used in this study as a tool to identify work accidents that occur, assess how much impact is caused by work accidents, and provide control to handle so that work accidents do not occur. The purpose of this study is to reduce the occurrence of work accidents in the company to achieve zero accidents. The results of the PT ABC study showed that the activities carried out had a fairly high risk so that they could cause disorders in the human body to cause death and could be prevented by actions such as adding air ventilation and tightening the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Abstract

Karawang Regency has significant potential in coffee plantation development, particularly in Medalsari Village, Pangkalan District. The Purnama Coffee Farmers Group, as the community partner, faces several challenges, including limited production facilities, inadequate implementation of coffee quality standards, weak business management capacity, and underutilization of coffee husk waste generated during processing. This community empowerment program aimed to enhance farmers’ capacity through the production of high-quality coffee and the downstream utilization of coffee waste into biomass briquettes as a strategy for product diversification and energy self-sufficiency. The program was implemented using a participatory approach consisting of socialization, training, technology transfer, mentoring, and evaluation. Activities included training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), post-harvest handling and coffee quality control, product packaging and branding development, digital marketing, and technical training on converting coffee husk waste into biomass briquettes. In addition, farmers received assistance in operating coffee-processing equipment and briquette-making machines to improve production efficiency and product quality. The results demonstrated increased knowledge and technical skills of farmers in producing high-quality coffee, improved business management and digital marketing capabilities, and the successful development of a new value-added product in the form of coffee-waste biomass briquettes. The utilization of coffee waste as an alternative energy source not only increased economic value but also reduced environmental waste and promoted green economy principles.

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, effective machine maintenance is essential to ensure production continuity and prevent downtime. PT KHAI faces performance degradation and damage to the automatic valve parts in its soy blending tanks, leading to significant production losses. This study analyzes the maintenance of these components using the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) method. The novelty of this research lies in its specific application to piston-actuated butterfly valves within the liquid handling systems of the food processing industry, a specialized area that remains under-explored compared to heavy machinery or power plant sectors. The methodology involves system identification, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), and Task Selection. The results identify critical failure components, including actuators, bearings, seals, packing valves, solenoid valves, limit switches, and control systems. The proposed maintenance strategy consists of time-directed tasks for four components, condition-directed for one component, and finding failure for three components. In conclusion, this study provides a new framework for mitigating hidden failures in automated actuation systems, offering a replicable maintenance model for ensuring high-hygiene production efficiency in the food industry.

Abstract

Ketidaktercapaian target produksi merupakan permasalahan umum yang sering dihadapi industri manufaktur dan umumnya dipengaruhi oleh adanya pemborosan (waste) dalam proses produksi. PT Djabesmen Lemah Abang, khususnya pada lini produksi asbes FC 8, mengalami ketidaksesuaian antara rencana dan realisasi produksi pada bulan Januari 2025. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi aktivitas pemborosan serta menganalisis aliran proses produksi guna meningkatkan efisiensi melalui penerapan konsep Lean Manufacturing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Value Stream Mapping (VSM) untuk memetakan aliran material dan informasi, serta Process Activity Mapping (PAM) untuk mengklasifikasikan aktivitas ke dalam Value Added (VA), Non Value Added (NVA), dan Necessary Non Value Added (NNVA). Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi langsung, wawancara dengan pihak terkait, serta data produksi aktual perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari Total waktu proses sebesar 1.253,585 menit, aktivitas bernilai tambah mencapai 84,04%, sedangkan aktivitas NVA dan NNVA masing-masing sebesar 2,07% dan 13,89%. Pemborosan utama teridentifikasi pada aktivitas menunggu, transportasi, penanganan manual, proses curing manual, serta downtime mesin yang menyebabkan terjadinya bottleneck pada beberapa stasiun kerja. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan VSM dan PAM efektif dalam mengidentifikasi sumber pemborosan dan menjadi dasar penyusunan usulan perbaikan untuk meningkatkan kelancaran aliran produksi dan pencapaian target produksi secara berkelanjutan.
