Abstract

Understanding the concept of Islam in Islamic Religious Education is often hindered by a learning approach that is less engaging and non-interactive. This results in students being less motivated and having difficulty in comprehensively understanding the material.  This research aims to explore the utilization of interactive learning media as an effort to enhance the understanding of Islamic concepts among students. This study employs a qualitative approach with a literature review method, analyzing various literature sources related to the use of interactive media in religious education. The research results indicate that interactive learning media can provide a more engaging learning experience, facilitate the understanding of religious concepts, and increase student involvement in the learning process.  Therefore, the use of interactive media in Islamic Education is highly recommended to address issues in teaching Islamic concepts in schools.  This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective learning methods that meet the needs of the millennial generation in understanding Islam.

Abstract

The Local Wisdom of coastal communities has high effectiveness in maintaining the sustainability of marine and coastal ecosystems. However, challenges such as lack of legal recognition, changes in people’s lifestyles, and economic pressures are factors that hinder the sustainability of traditional fishing practices. Therefore, a strategy is needed that harmonizes government regulations with local wisdom practices in order to create a more sustainable and inclusive marine environmental management model. Local wisdom possessed by coastal communities in the archipelago is an important instrument for realizing the principles of environmental sustainability. The role of local wisdom in realizing the principle of environmental sustainability is important, especially for strengthening aspects of legal culture within the framework of an integrated legal system. Local wisdom of coastal communities describes a system that integrates knowledge, norm, culture and institutions as well as practices for managing marine fisheries resources, in line with the principles of harmony, balance and sustaibility. Cultural approaches through the application of local wisdom forms of coastal communities in the archipelago are important in order to support the effectiveness of supervision and law enforcement efforts in marine areas through a preventive approach, and have the potential to be added as one of the elements of the principles of environmental sustainability. This study uses a normative legal approach and a qualitative legal data analysis method using relevan legal interpretation methods. The formulation of a conceptual model regarding the role of local wisdom in realizing the principles of environmental sustainability is the aim of this research.

Abstract

Islamic banking has gained significant importance in the global financial landscape due to its unique foundation based on Sharia principles. The implementation of these principles within the operational framework of Islamic banks presents several challenges that need to be addressed to ensure compliance with Sharia law while maintaining financial efficiency and customer satisfaction. This study explores the challenges faced by Islamic banks in implementing Sharia principles from both managerial and customer perspectives. Using a qualitative approach, the study involves interviews with bank managers and customers of Islamic banks in Indonesia. The findings indicate that despite the growing demand for Islamic banking services, the challenges in implementing Sharia principles include issues related to regulatory compliance, employee training, product innovation, customer awareness, and the interpretation of Sharia guidelines. Managers often face difficulties in aligning operational strategies with Sharia requirements, while customers struggle with understanding the difference between conventional and Islamic banking products. This study offers insights into how Islamic banks can address these challenges through better managerial practices, enhanced customer education, and the development of more innovative Sharia-compliant products. By examining both managerial and customer perspectives, the research provides a comprehensive understanding of the barriers that hinder the effective implementation of Sharia principles in Islamic banking operations.

Abstract

Quality education in primary schools faces persistent challenges, particularly regarding the role of academic supervision and pedagogical competencies in learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the individual and combined effects of academic supervision and teachers’ pedagogical competencies on learning quality in Indonesian primary schools. A quantitative survey using ex post facto correlational design was conducted with 110 primary school teachers from 10 schools in Gugus Bawana Ageng, Tembalang District, Semarang City, selected through proportionate random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. Results reveal strong positive correlations between academic supervision and learning quality (r = 0.749) and pedagogical competence and learning quality (r = 0.619). Academic supervision contributed 56.1% to learning quality variance, while pedagogical competence contributed 38.3%. Combined, both variables explained 67.1% of learning quality variance (R2 = 0.671). The study concludes that academic supervision demonstrates stronger predictive power than pedagogical competence in determining learning quality. Implications suggest prioritizing structured supervisory systems and targeted teacher development programs. Future research should explore longitudinal relationships and investigate the remaining unexplained variance through mixed-methods approaches.

Abstract

Indonesian elementary education continues to face persistent challenges in achieving high-quality learning outcomes, particularly amid the ongoing implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. A critical issue lies in the limited empirical understanding of how teachers’ professional competence and participation in learning communities interact to influence teaching quality. This study aims to examine the effects of professional competence and learning communities on the quality of learning among public elementary school teachers in Ngaliyan District, Semarang City. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 188 teachers through validated questionnaires that measured dimensions of professional competence, involvement in learning communities, and indicators of learning quality. Statistical analyses, including simple and multiple linear regression, revealed that both professional competence and learning communities have significant positive effects on learning quality. Learning communities showed a stronger individual contribution (R² = 0.616) compared to professional competence alone (R² = 0.291), and together they explained 65.9% of the variance in learning quality. These findings highlight the importance of not only enhancing individual teacher competencies but also fostering collaborative professional cultures in schools. The study suggests that educational policies and professional development programs should emphasize the establishment of effective learning communities alongside traditional competency-based training. This integrated approach is essential to support the successful implementation of curriculum reforms and improve educational outcomes in Indonesian elementary schools.
