Abstract

Bencana alam tanah longsor yang melanda Tana Toraja pada tahun 2024 menimbulkan korban jiwa dan kerusakan material yang parah. Peristiwa tragis ini memunculkan pertanyaan dalam perspektif iman Kristen tentang makna teologis di balik bencana tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kemungkinan bencana tanah longsor sebagai hukuman atas dosa manusia, tanda kehadiran dan kekuasaan Allah yang agung, serta tanda akhir zaman menjelang kedatangan Tuhan Yesus yang kedua kali. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga memberikan panduan bagi umat Kristen untuk mengambil pelajaran berharga dari tragedi ini demi mendekatkan diri kepada Allah. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan sumber data utama yaitu Alkitab dan sumber-sumber sekunder terkait. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kajian pustaka, dan analisis data menggunakan model Huberman & Miles. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa bencana tanah longsor di Tana Toraja dapat dipandang sebagai hukuman atas dosa manusia, tanda kehadiran dan kekuasaan Allah, serta indikasi tanda-tanda akhir zaman. Selain itu, umat Kristen diimbau untuk semakin bergantung kepada Tuhan, menghadapi pencobaan dengan iman yang teguh, dan menyerahkan kekhawatiran kepada pemeliharaan-Nya. Dengan demikian, tragedi ini menjadi pelajaran berharga bagi umat Kristen untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah di tengah situasi sulit.

Abstract

This study's main goal was to ascertain whether the silent way method had a significant effect on the vocabulary achievement of eighth-grade students at SMPN 29 Bengkulu Tengah. In this research, a quasi-experimental design was used. In this study, there were two classes of students. The first group includes the experimental class, while the second includes the control class. The two groups were then given a pre-test and a post-test. With the two classes, various strategies were employed. The experimental class was instructed using the silent way method, whereas the control class was instructed using the direct method, as a result of the application of this strategy in classroom instruction. This study's sampling technique was a purposive sampling method. During the gathering of data, the researcher used the test as a research tool. The test consists of 20 valid multiple-choice questions that are presented in this method. The researcher tested the validity of the hypothesis using the independent sample t-test in the SPSS 22 program. According to the findings of the hypothesis test, the independent sample t-test (sig. 2-tailed) result was 0.000, which is less than 0.05, and the t-count value is 4.698, which is more than the t-table df=22 (2.07387). Therefore, it can be stated that the silent way method of teaching had a significant effect on vocabulary achievement among students at SMPN 29 Bengkulu Tengah.

Abstract

The aim of this study are: 1) To identify the kinds of parents’ support on students’ English learning process during Covid-19 outbreak, 2) To know the parents support contributes to the improvement of the students’ English achievement during Covid-19 outbreak. This study was conducted in descriptive qualitative research. Interview was used to obtain the data. Both the data was analyzed inductively based on Creswell (2008). The result of this study showed that: 1) The supports given by the parents are motivation support; facilitate support and the material support in this Covid-19 outbreak, and 2) The students have good English skill because their own motivation and supported by their parents.

Abstract

Online learning uses technology to help students and teachers with distance learning, with teachers who provide teaching materials that are easily accessible.This study aims to describe the implementation of learning carried out by teachers by using synchronous and asynchronous such as Google Meet, Google Classroom, and Whats App. This research was designed as a descriptive qualitative study using interview. The subjects of this study were teachers at SMA N 1 Bengkulu Tengah. Data analysis was carried out using the data proposed by Miles and Huberman to collect data. The results showed that online learners had barriers namely poor networks, the quality of mobile phones that did not support the students themselves and the capacity of the application used in online learning.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a correlation between the use of artificial intelligence and the speaking performance of fourth-semester English department students at Universitas Islam Negeri Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. To achieve this goal, the study selected a sample of 40 students from the same department and employed a quantitative method with a correlational analysis technique. The data was gathered through a set of questionnaires consisting of 20 questions, which were distributed to the students. The responses were rated on a Five Likert Scale to assess students' speaking performance levels. Additionally, the study conducted an oral test for five groups of students to assess their speaking skills in five aspects: grammar, vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension. The analysis of the data using the Product-Moment Pearson Correlation revealed that students did not achieve higher speaking performance scores despite using AI. The calculation yielded a total rxy of -.258, with N. sig = .109, indicating that tcount was less than ttable (-.258 < 0.312). This result supports the acceptance of the null hypothesis, suggesting that there is no significant correlation between AI use and speaking performance of fourth-semester English department students at Universitas Islam Negeri Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu.

Abstract

Teknologi terus berkembang setiap saat, sehingga harus dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk mempermudah pekerjaan pada suatu instansi, salah satunya dibidang Administrasi, Sistem informasi pembayaran administrasi di SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Kendal saat ini masih dilakukan secara manual. Data-data yang berhubungan dengan pembayaran administrasi sekolah disimpan dalam bentuk berkas/kertas, jika berkas tersebut hilang atau Gedung penyimpanan berkas terbakar makan hilang juga semua data administrasi tersebut, dan dengan adanya system data dapat tersimpan secara digital, menghemat penggunaan kertas, dan data dapat di backup sehingga data lebih aman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat sistem informasi pembayaran administrasi sekolah berbasis web agar memudahkan dalam proses pembayaran administrasi sekolah. Metode Pengembangan sistem yang dilakukan adalah menggunakan metode extreme programming. Sehingga sistem informasi pembayaraan administrasi sekolah berbasis web di SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Kendal menjadi lebih efisien, cepat dan tepat.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of persuasive leadership communication on improving student achievement in higher education. Based on the hypothesis regarding the effect of persuasive leadership communication on student achievement, the F-test results indicate that the regression model is statistically significant simultaneously, with an F value of 49.901 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Partially, the t-test results show that openness (t = 2.516; p = 0.013), support (t = 2.908; p = 0.004), positive attitude (t = 3.926; p = 0.000), and equality (t = 2.254; p = 0.026) have a significant influence on student achievement. In contrast, empathy does not have a statistically significant effect (t = 1.690; p = 0.093). The most dominant dimension is a positive attitude, with the highest beta coefficient (? = 0.259).This research employed a quantitative method involving 150 students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu, using a Likert-scale-based questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression via SPSS. The findings highlight the importance of leadership communication strategies that are open, supportive, positive, and egalitarian in building an academic environment that fosters and motivates student achievement. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of leadership communication in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the preservation of the rejung tradition as a local cultural heritage: a study of the role of customary stakeholders in Air Teras Village, Talo District, Seluma Regency. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used is symbolic interaction theory according to George Herbert Mead (mind, self, society). Mind in the research, traditional leaders conduct cultural socialization activities by using local language in explaining rejung as a symbol and language of local culture, connecting the meaning of rejung with social reality. Self (self), traditional leaders conduct direct social interactions in shaping the identity (sefl) of the younger generation by directly involving them in training activities and cultural activities. Society involves the younger generation in various cultural activities and cultural competitions that will strengthen the role of the younger generation as cultural preservationists.

Abstract

Di tengah pesatnya era digital, remaja kian rentan terhadap perundungan siber yang mengancam stabilitas mental mereka. Fenomena ini juga terjadi di SMAN 1 Bengkulu, di mana rendahnya literasi digital dan etika bermedia sosial menjadi celah terjadinya tindak kejahatan siber. Merespons kondisi tersebut, Humas Polda Bengkulu bersinergi dengan pihak sekolah menyelenggarakan program edukasi melalui metode sosialisasi, lokakarya, dan simulasi kasus. Pendekatan ini bertujuan agar siswa mampu menerapkan etika digital secara praktis. Implementasi program yang melibatkan seluruh warga sekolah ini terbukti efektif; pemahaman siswa melonjak dari 45% ke 85%, sementara kesadaran beretika meningkat dari 40% ke 80%. Hasil ini menjadi bukti keberhasilan dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman di dunia maya

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is a fundamental component in learning English as a foreign language, as it supports students’ abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. However, many junior high school students experience difficulties in acquiring sufficient vocabulary due to monotonous teaching methods and limited exposure to engaging learning media. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of using the TikTok application on students’ vocabulary mastery. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test. The population of this study consisted of eighth-grade students of SMPN 5 Bengkulu City in the academic year 2024/2025, with class VIII G comprising 33 students selected as the experimental group through purposive sampling. The treatment was conducted by integrating TikTok videos containing English vocabulary materials into the teaching and learning process over six sessions. The data were collected using vocabulary tests and analyzed using statistical analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery after being taught using the TikTok application. The findings indicate that TikTok is an effective and engaging digital learning medium that can enhance students’ vocabulary acquisition and learning motivation. Therefore, it is recommended that English teachers integrate social media platforms such as TikTok into vocabulary instruction to create more interactive and meaningful learning experiences.
