The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of kinetic sand play therapy on the fine motor skills of children aged 4-6 years at Dharma Bakti Kindergarten, Bengkulu City. This study used a quasi-experimental two-group pretest posttest with control group design with a sample size of 40 respondents. Consisting of 20 children in the intervention group and 20 children in the control group. Data collection was carried out using the Denver II sheet. Based on the results of the univariate analysis, it was known that before the intervention group was given kinetic sand play therapy, a small portion of respondents (30%) were suspects and after kinetic sand play therapy, all respondents (100%) had normal fine motor development. Bivariate analysis of normality test obtained data that is not normally distributed, namely sig.0.001 <0.05. Homogeneity test obtained homogeneous distribution data results>0.05, namely 0.898, so in this study using the Wilcoxon test to determine the effect of kinetic sand play therapy. The results of the Wilcoxon test obtained a p-value of 0.014 <0.05, this indicates that there is an effect of kinetic sand play therapy on fine motor skills of children aged 4-6 years at Dharma Bakti Kindergarten, Bengkulu City. Researchers suggest that Dharma Bakti Kindergarten educators in Bengkulu City utilize kinetic sand to improve coordination, finger muscle strength, and fine motor development of children aged 4-6 years.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children continues to be a concern in Indonesia. In 2022, there were more than 14,500 cases of sexual violence against children (KemenPPPA). That number decreased to 6,198 cases in 2023, but sexual violence remains one of the most prevalent forms of violence. As of 2024, cases of sexual violence against children, including in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu, continue to occur. This study aims to determine the effect of sexual education on increasing knowledge of fifth and sixth-grade students at SDN 104 Rejang Lebong about sexual violence prevention. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest one-group design. 38 students were selected as samples using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires filled out before and after the intervention, which consisted of sexual education using animated video media. The results showed that before receiving sexual education, most students had a sufficient level of knowledge (52.6%). After the intervention, there was an increase, with 60.5% of students achieving a good level of knowledge. The Wilcoxon test results showed p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant effect of sexual education on improving students' knowledge about sexual violence prevention. These findings indicate that sexual education through animated video media can be an effective method for improving students' understanding. Therefore, sexual education should be integrated into the school curriculum as a preventive measure to protect children from the risk of sexual violence.

Abstract

Cases of vertigo at Sawah Lebar Community Health Center increased from 68 in 2022 to 84 in 2024, with pharmacological therapy as the main treatment. Brandt Daroff Exercise is a simple and safe technique proven to reduce headache intensity in vertigo patients. This study aimed to determine its effectiveness in lowering headache pain scales among vertigo patients in the Sawah Lebar Community Health Center, Bengkulu City. The research used a descriptive case study on one 38-year-old patient. The intervention was conducted for 10 consecutive days, three times daily, lasting 20–30 minutes per session. Pain intensity was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale before and after each session. Results showed a consistent reduction in pain scale from 6 on the first day to 1 on the tenth day, with gradual improvement observed in all daily measurements. The findings indicate that Brandt Daroff Exercise effectively decreases headache levels and supports non-pharmacological management of vertigo. This exercise is easy to perform, cost-effective, and suitable for use in primary healthcare settings. It can also be taught as a home-based self-therapy for patients to improve symptom control and enhance their quality of life.
