Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami dan mengeksplorasi konsep-konsep matematika yang terkandung dalam artefak, miniatur rumah adat, serta alat musik tradisional etnis melayu peninggalan sejarah di Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan terknik observasi dan dokumentasi. Model Miles dan Hubberman menjadi teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam peneletian ini. Begitu juga reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat etnomatematika pada  miniatur rumah adat dan alat musik tradisional etnis Melayu di Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara. Pada miniatur rumah adat Melayu didapati etnomatematika yaitu konsep geometri bangun datar, bangun ruang, kesebangunan, kekongruenan, simetri dan refleksi. Etnomatematika pada alat musik Melayu mencakup kecapi, arbab, dan gengong ditemukan konsep geometri bangun datar dan bangun ruang.  ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to understand and explore the mathematical concepts contained in artifacts, miniature traditional houses and traditional ethnic Melayu musical instruments from historical heritage at the North Sumatra State Museum. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection uses observation and documentation techniques. The Miles and Hubberman model is the data analysis technique used in this research. Likewise data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that there is ethnomathematics in the miniatures of traditional houses and traditional Malay ethnic musical instruments at the North Sumatra State Museum. In Melayu traditional house miniatures, ethnomathematics is found, namely the concepts of flat geometric shapes, spatial shapes, similarity, congruence, symmetry and reflection. Ethnomathematics on Melayu musical instruments including the harp, arbab, and sengong found geometric concepts of flat shapes and spatial shapes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics learning media using Powtoon on set material in class VII SMP IT AL FAKHRI. This research also aims to find out the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the media in increasing students' interest in learning. This type of research is research development or Research and Development which refers to the ADDIE development model which stands for Analysis, Design, Development Implementation and Evaluation. VII grade students of SMP IT AL FAKHRI, totaling 22 people. The instrument used in this research is a validation sheet to measure the validity of the learning media developed by the response questionnaire sheet, the rest of the teacher response questionnaire sheet. The results of the study show (1) the validity of the learning media based on the assessment of media experts is 90% and by material experts is 85% with a very feasible category (2) the practicality of learning media based on the assessment by the teacher is 89% with a very practical category (3) the effectiveness of the media learning based on student learning interest questionnaires using tons obtained 83% with very high or very interested categories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a realistic mathematical approach on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in the flat-sided geometry material at SMP Negeri 1 Stabat. This reasearch is a quantitative reasearch, with the type of experimental research. The population is all class VIII students, totaling 118 people. The sample used by the reasercher is class VIII-1 and class VIII-2 with 30 students each to serve as an experimental class determined by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques  by  giving  pre-test  and  post-test  to  determine  students’  ability  to  think critically mathematically. The data analysis technique in this reaserch is using hypothesis testing. Reseach hypothesis testing using t test. Based on the results of the research and hypothesis testing, the researcher can conclude as follows: (1) There is a significant effect on the t test, namely t count > t table with t count = (7.330) and t table = (1.669). it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the realistics mathematics approach on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in the flat-sided geometry material at SMP Negeri 1 Stabat.

Abstract

This study aims to develop student worksheets based on Higher Order Thinking Skills and real-world problems on graph topics. The type of research used is development research to produce valid and practical products in the form of HOTS-Based Student Worksheets and real-world problems. The development model used is the 4D model (define, design, develop, dissemination) by Thiagarajan. The research subjects were 40 Mathematics Education students of UIN North Sumatra, semester VII of the 2024/2025 academic year, the object of the research was the graph topic in the Advanced Discrete Mathematics course. The product quality test from Nieveen is the Validity Test and Practicality Test. The resulting product is a HOTS-Based Student Worksheet and real-world problems on graph topics consisting of 9 essay questions, with details of 4 questions for the cognitive analysis level, 2 questions for the evaluation level, and 3 questions for the creation level. The development product is declared very valid and very practical, so it can be used in Discrete Mathematics lectures on graph topics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis etnomatematika Bunga Bale Melayu pada materi Kekongruenan dan Kesebangunan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan menerapkan model pengembangan ADDIE, yang meliputi tahapan Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 peserta didik kelas IX. Didapatkan persentase 93,3%, bahwa LKPD berbasis etnomatematika ini dikategorikan sebagai sangat valid berdasarkan hasil validasi penilaian ahli. Penilaian terhadap aspek kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa LKPD memperoleh respon sangat praktis dari guru matematika dengan persentase 90,6%, serta respon positif dari peserta didik dengan persentase 88,72%, yang juga termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Sementara itu, hasil evaluasi terhadap keefektifan menunjukkan bahwa LKPD ini sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, dengan persentase mencapai 94,0%. Sehingga penerapan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika Bunga Bale Melayu terbukti efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran pada materi Kekongruenan dan Kesebangunan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan LKPD Etnomatematika dari materi bangun datar, pengembangan tingkat untuk siswa kelas VII SMP NEGERI 2 PERBAUNGAN dan untuk menentukan kualitas LKD yang dikembangkan dilihat dari aspek-aspek yaitu kevalidan, kepraktisan, Peneliti menggunakan Research and development (R&D) dengan penggunaan model pengembangan ADDIE untuk digunakan dari kevalidan suatu produk yaitu Mengembangkan LKPD. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sangat rendah di Indonesia. Sangat penting bagi siswa untuk memiliki kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika. Namun, kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika sebenarnya sangat rendah di Indonesia karena kurangnya penerapan pembelajaran matematika yang kurang menarik. Tujuan penggunaan permainan Engklek untuk belajar matematika adalah agar siswa lebih mengenal mata pelajaran tersebut. Bentuk permainan Engklek yang memiliki tampilan datar agar lebih menarik bagi siswa untuk belajar.                                                                            Kata Kunci. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah berbantuan aplikasi geogebra terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam pengerjaan soal matematika pada kelas VIII mateeri persamaan kuadrat. Penelitian ini menggunakan  metode kuantitatif eksperimen dengan populasi 3 kelas VIII berjumlah 90 siswa dan sampel 2 kelas yaitu kelas VIII KHD berjumlah 30 siswa  dan kelas VIII AD berjumlah 30 siswa dengan instrumen penelitian berupa 5 soal essay mencakup indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Didapatkan hasil penelitian adanya pengaruh  yang signifikan antara kelas VIII KHD dan VIII AD terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi persamaan kuadrat.

Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in various areas of daily life and helps develop logical, critical, and systematic thinking patterns, and problem-solving abilities. However, the mathematics learning process often experiences obstacles both from internal factors such as students' negative attitudes, low interest in learning, and weak motivation, as well as external factors such as lack of teacher focus and minimal family support. Ethnomathematics, namely mathematics integrated with local culture, has emerged as an effective method to help students understand mathematical concepts more easily and interestingly. This research was conducted on the process of making Sidikalang coffee at UD (trading business) Kopi Keke, Dairi, North Sumatra, which combines ethnomathematics with mathematics learning. Through qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach, this research identifies mathematical concepts contained in the six stages of coffee making, namely drying, pounding, roasting, grinding, packaging, and marketing. The research results show that this process includes the concepts of social arithmetic, calculation, time comparison, plane geometry, space geometry, and measurement so that it can support mathematics learning that is easy for students to understand.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning di MTS AL-Mushlihin. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan jenis quasi eksperiment (eksperimen semu) dan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen I yaitu dengan menggunakan model discovery learning dan kelas eksperimen II dengan menggunakan model problem based learning. Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa: Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning dan model pembelajaran problem based learning pada materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar dengan t-hitung = 2,59 > t-tabel = 2,009. Hal ini menunjukkan model pembelajaran discovery. ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the differences in students' mathematical critical thinking abilities through the Discovery Learning learning model and the Problem Based Learning learning model at MTS AL-Mushlihin. This research is experimental research with a quasi-experimental type (pseudo-experiment) and uses a quantitative approach. This research involved two classes, namely experimental class I using the discovery learning model and experimental class II using the problem based learning model. The results of these findings indicate that: There is a difference in the critical thinking abilities of students who are taught using the discovery learning model and the problem based learning model in the Flat-Side Building material with t-hitung = 2.59 > t-tabel= 2.009. This shows the discovery learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti efek atau pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita yang memerlukan ketrampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thingking Skills atau HOTS). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain Pre-test Post-test control group. Validasi instrumen dilakukan melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, daya beda dan taraf kesukaran soal. Analisis data menggunakan uji t untuk menguji perbedaan rata-rata hasil pre-test dan post-test antara kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan dalam kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita tipe HOTS antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontol. Nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen (83,78) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (74,81). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita tipe HOTS ABSTRACT This research aims to examine the effect or influence of implementing the CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) cooperative learning model on students' ability to solve story problems that require higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The method used in this research was a quasi-experiment with a Pre-test Post-test control group design. Instrument validation is carried out through tests of validity, reliability, distinguishability and level of difficulty of the questions. Data analysis used the t test to test the difference in average pre-test and post-test results between the two groups. The research results showed that there was a significant difference in the ability to solve HOTS type story problems between the experimental class and the control class. The average post-test score for the experimental class (83.78) was higher than the control class (74.81). These findings indicate that CIRC type cooperative learning is effective in improving the ability to solve HOTS type story problems.
