Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide information and knowledge about crop cultivation techniques that can produce food and serve as a food source. The activity was carried out from Monday, April 21, 2025, to Tuesday, June 4, 2025, using dissemination and socialization methods about the benefits of food crops and food crop cultivation techniques. The results of the community service showed that all participants were enthusiastic and excited to participate in the entire series of activities, as evidenced by their attentiveness and participation until the end of the event. There was also a significant change in their knowledge of crop cultivation, which was 27% before the dissemination and cultivation practices, but increased to 93% after the dissemination and cultivation practices. These results were obtained from pre-test and post-test assessment forms filled out by the extension participants.

Abstract

Microcytis sp is plankton species that is detrimental in shrimp pond ecosystems. The purpose of this study was to detect the abundance of plankton and the presence of Microcystis sp. in the waters of vaname shrimp (L. vannamei) aquaculture ponds. The research method used is descriptive quantitative and qualitative with added analysis of dynamic modeling systems. The results showed that pond water quality conditions were still good enough for shrimp farming activities with details of dissolved oxygen 4.01-6.17 mg/L, pH 7.7-7.9, salinity 20, temperature 27.050-28.250C, nitrate 0.01-0.15 mg/L, phosphate 0.05-0.20 mg/L, brightness 25-35 cm. For the classification of plankton found among them are from the Bacillariophyceae class, there are the genera Skeletonema sp., Cyclotella sp., Coscinodiscus sp., and Amphipora sp., from the Chlorophyceae class, there are the genera Chlorella sp., Oocystis sp., and Clamydomonas sp., from the Cyanophyceae class. the genus Oscillatoria sp., Microcystis sp., and Anabaenopsis sp. The plankton diversity index (H') was obtained between 0.01-0.33 and the uniformity index (E) was obtained between 0.10-0.50, meaning that the condition of the pond waters is still quite good and there are minimal indications of pollution. The abundance of Microcystis sp. obtained between 0.2x104-0.6x104 cell/ml. from the results of dynamic modeling analysis it is shown that the abundance of Microcystis sp. in pond waters is influenced by the value of the productivity level of the waters and the process of grazing organisms. The results of this study can be concluded that the plankton abundance rate found in ponds ranges from 0.4x104-1.9x104 cell/ml which consists of 10 genera and 3 classes of plankton. Then Microcystis sp. its presence was found in 3 ponds with abundance rate ranging from 0.2x104-0.6x104 cell/ml.Keywords:CultivationGenusGrazingModelWaters

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) regarding an intercropping system based on sustainable agriculture in Wonopringgo Village, Pekalongan Regency. The problems faced by the community included limited understanding of intercropping cultivation techniques and the dominance of monoculture farming systems, resulting in suboptimal land utilization. The activity was conducted on September 1, 2025, at the Intercropping Demonstration Plot in Wonopringgo Village involving 25 KWT members. The implementation methods included investigation, preparation, action, extension and training, reflection through pre-tests and post-tests, and mentoring. The intercropping system applied combined maize and soybean plants. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge regarding the intercropping system and its benefits. During the pre-test, only 2 participants (8%) understood the intercropping system, while after the activity all participants (100%) understood it. Participants’ understanding of the benefits of intercropping also increased from 0% to 100% after the activity.

Abstract

SMAN 1 Kedungwuni Kabupaten Pekalongan merupakan salah satu sekolah menengah atas yang mendapatkan kepercayaan untuk mengimplementasikan program Sekolah Adiwiyata pada tahun 2025. Program ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang bersih, nyaman, dan sehat melalui pengelolaan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan, salah satunya adalah pengelolaan limbah dan sampah organik yang dihasilkan dari aktivitas sekolah. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan limbah dan sampah organik di lingkungan sekolah. Metode yang dilaksanakan meliputi diseminasi informasi tentang jenis dan dampak limbah serta sampah organik, serta praktik langsung pembuatan kompos berbasis limbah organik sekolah. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dan guru dalam mengelola sampah organik menjadi kompos yang bermanfaat. Hal ini terlihat dari antusiasme peserta selama kegiatan berlangsung serta hasil evaluasi berupa peningkatan skor pre-test dan post-test yang menunjukkan pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap materi yang diberikan.

Abstract

Wheat seeds, one of the orthodox seed types, naturally experience a decline in quality during long-term storage. This deterioration is a complex process that involves various factors throughout the seed's lifecycle. However, seed deterioration studies are based on static approaches. Therefore, moving from static to dynamic indicators, which describe changes in the state of seed biological systems over time, would be exciting. The study aimed to estimate the vigor and storability of wheat seeds based on a systems approach. The research was carried out using a systems approach, while the stages of the research were as follows: literature study and data collection from several scientific journals, preparation of flowcharts, models, simulations, and validation. The results showed that the estimation of wheat seed deterioration could be predicted through a systems approach. The estimation of wheat seed deterioration is a system that involves many variables that are interrelated and occur simultaneously. The following equations can estimate the wheat seed deterioration model: ROS(t) = ROS(t - dt) + (-H2O2) x dt; H2O2 = ROS x Changes index of H2O2; MDA = 4.62271 + (18.4012 - 4.62271) x exp (-22.2767 x H2O2 1.70613); FFA = 123.336 x exp (-10.1865 x H2O2); germination = 2.30234 + (109.524 - 2.30234) / (1 + exp (11.4657 x ln ('MDA' / 9.39342))). During storage, antioxidant enzymes that degrade reactive oxygen species (ROS) become inactive. The accumulation of ROS leads to membrane damage, resulting in decreased vigor, which is characterized by reduced germination rates.

Abstract

Pertanian merupakan sektor penting dalam menopang ketahanan pangan, namun masih menghadapi kendala berupa keterbatasan lahan, degradasi lingkungan, rendahnya adopsi teknologi modern, dan produktivitas yang rendah. Kondisi ini juga dialami masyarakat Desa Wonopringgo Kabupaten Pekalongan yang masih bergantung pada sistem monokultur. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kapasitas petani dalam mengelola sumber daya secara efisien dan memperluas diversifikasi produk pertanian melalui pengenalan sistem budidaya terpadu yaitu intercropping dan akuaponik. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 14 Agustus 2025 dengan melibatkan 23 peserta dari Kelompok Wanita Tani, PKK, Kelompok Tani, dan Kepala Desa Wonopringgo. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi investigasi, persiapan, pembuatan demplot intercropping dan instalasi akuaponik, penyuluhan, pelatihan, refleksi melalui pre-test dan post-test, serta pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran peserta mengenai sistem pertanian terpadu. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat sekaligus menjadi model pemberdayaan yang berpotensi direplikasi di wilayah lain
