Abstract

AbstractThis research on the analysis physical, language, and legal variables on outdoor media in Bengkayang District. The object of this research is physical, language, and legal variables in outdoor media: (1) nameplate of government and private agencies; (2) nameplate of the place of trade: (3) outdoor advertising; (4) nameplate of housing and lodging; and (5) traffic and tourism instructions.The data were analyzed as many as 100 data processing objects which are the research domains, namely 20 nameplate data on government and private agencies, 20 nameplate data on the place of trading business, 20 data on outdoor advertising, 20 nameplate of housing and lodging, and 20 traffic and tourism instructions taken on several main roads in Bengkayang District.Based on the results of data analysis, there were 587 physical variable scores, 444 language variables, and 542 legal variables. After the final value of each number of variables was calculated, the total value of outdoor media in Bengkayang District, Bengkayang District showed results 497.5 which is included in the controlled criteria IV. Controlled criteria IV are areas where foreign language use is controlled by prioritizing Indonesian or regional languages.Keywords: Outdoor Media, Physical Variables, Language Variables, Legal Variables, Bengkayang District

Abstract

Abstract Research on the use of language in official letters at the Pemangkat District office in Sambas City focuses on the use of language in letters issued by the government of Pemangkat District. The use of the language in question is the Indonesian Spelling, diction, and effective sentences used in outgoing letters in May, June, and July 2018. The focus is in accordance with the formulation of the problem directly related to the research objectives, namely: (1) Describe the use of Indonesian Spelling on official letters in the pemangkat sub-office, (2) Describing the use of diction on official letters in the pemangkat sub-office, (3) Describing the use of effective sentences in official letters in the Pemangkat sub-district office, and (4) describing plans for implementing research results about official letters and class VII Indonesian language learning based on the 2013 curriculum.This research uses descriptive method and is in the form of qualitative. The data of this study are written on a letter issued by the government of Pemangkat District. The data source of this research is the letter out of Pemangkat District office in May, June, and July 2018. Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research problem is the interrogative utterance of the Sanbas Malay language in the film Jembatan Jodoh as a syntactic study. The problem in this study is how the types, markers, and interrogative sentence patterns in the film Jembatan Jodoh and drama text lesson plans in learning Indonesian in junior high school class 8. Descriptive method. Data collection techniques refer to note taking techniques and note taking techniques. Laptop data collection tools and stationery. Based on the results of the study found five interrogative utterances, namely interrogative sentences asking for acknowledgment of answers, asking for information about one of the elements (functions) of the sentence, asking for reasons, asking for opinions or ideas of others, and presenting. Two markers were found namely -lah and -kah. Four interrogative sentence patterns were found namely Intr + FN, Intr + FAdj, Intr + FNum, Intr + Adver. Abstract

Abstract This study was conducted in Malabae of Marunsu Village, Samalantan District of Bengkayang Regency. The researcher involved two speakers as the informants to collect the data related to the synonyms of nouns in Dayak Kanayatn language of Badamea dialect. This study focuses on determining distinguishing features of meaning from a set of synonymous nouns and their use in the Dayak Kanayatn dialect of Badamea. The method used in conducting this study was descriptive in the form of qualitative research.  The data were collected from the informants in the form of the synonymous nouns of Kanayatn language with the Badamea dialect. The techniques applied to collect the data were interviews, recording, and note-taking. The findings showed several lists of synonymous nouns: (1) pairs of synonymous nouns related to humans  (2) pairs of synonymous nouns related to concrete non-animate nouns and (3) pairs of synonymous nouns related to abstract non-animate nouns. Those pairs of nouns have differences in their usage context, and thus they are only close synonyms. Keywords: Synonymous Nouns, Dayak Kanayatn Language, Badamea dialects

Abstract

AbstractEuphemism is a word in another form that is refined to avoid taboo words in a language. It can be affirmed that euphemism is an expression in the form of words or phrases that are considered to be more subtle, polite, and safe to replace other expressions. The purpose of this study is describing the use of euphemisms on the news lead of Kompas TV Pontianak. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative research forms. The source of the data in this study is the news lead of Kompas TV Pontianak. The technique used in this research is documentary study technique. In this study the data collection tools used were researchers, writing instruments and supporting research instruments. The results of euphemism data analysis on the Kompas TV Pontianak news lead found five forms of euphemism including the abbreviated form (BS) of two data or 6% of the total data. Forms of eight data absorption words (BKS) or 26% of all data. Form foreign terms (BIA) one data or 3% of all data. The form of metaphor (BM) is six data or 19% of all data. Form of perifrasa (BP) fourteen data or 45% of all data. The function of euphemism is found as a tool to smooth out speech (MU) as much as twenty-seven data or 87% of all data. It functions as a diplomatic tool (AB) of four data or 13% of all data.  Keywords: Euphemism, News Lead

Abstract

This research discusses speech acts or language use in the morning market street vendors of Pemangkat city, Sambas Regency. The purpose of this study is to describe the speech acts of Sambas language used by street vendors of Pemangkat city morning market using Pragmatics Review. The method used in this research is descriptive method in qualitative form. The source of data in this research is the morning market street vendors of Pemangkat city. Data collection techniques in this study used recording and note-taking techniques by means of field observation first then going down to the field, data collection, and documentation. This research produces illocutionary speech acts spoken by Pemangkat city morning market street vendors ranging from vegetable and meat traders. Based on the data analysis, the assertive speech acts in this study are 21 speech acts in Pasar Pagi Street Vendors consisting of stating, claiming, complaining, suggesting, boasting. Therefore, this assertive illocutionary speech act is more than other speech acts. Directive speech acts are found as many as 12 illocutionary speech acts consisting of begging, recommending, and ordering. Commissive speech acts were found as many as 5 speech acts, namely offering. Expressive speech acts are found as many as 11 speech acts consisting of thanking, praising, and apologizing. Furthermore, there are 6 declarative speech acts consisting of surrendering and ostracizing.

Abstract

This study aims to record the existing lexicon in the circumcision tradition (besunat) of the Sambas Malay community, especially in the pre- implementation, implementation, and post-implementation processes, as well as produce supplementary teaching materials for Indonesian language learning based on the cultural lexicon in the circumcision tradition (besunat) in the Sambas Malay community. The theory used is the theory of anthropolinguistics. The method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative form. The source of data in this study is the Sambas Malay community. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, recording techniques, note-taking techniques, documentation. This study produced 53 data consisting of 4 pre-implementation lexicon, 1 implementation lexicon, 4 post-implementation lexicon, 23 lexicon in the form of tools used, 8 lexicon in the form of materials used, 6 lexicon in the form of food served, 4 lexicon in the form of the actors involved, 1 lexicon in the form of time, 2 lexicon of cultural objects used. The form of the lingual unit there are 29 lexicon in the form of monomorphemic form, 4 lexicon in the form of polymorphemic form, 19 lexicon in the form of endocentric phrase, the meanings found in this study were 53 in the form of lexical meaning, 27 lexicon in the form of culturalmeaning. The form of Indonesian language learning text produces descriptivetext.

Abstract

This research article aims to analyze illocutionary speech acts according to Searle's theory. The research method used is descriptive in qualitative form. The research data source is milk drink advertisements on the IKLANESIA HD YouTube channel. The collection technique is documentary, namely focusing attention through analyzing and interpreting written materials such as notes and texts expressed in videos, and writing tools. Data research tools are article researchers who act as compilers, data collectors and notification of research results. A tool in the form of a telephone grip is a tool used to watch milk drink advertisements on YouTube. Books and stationery are used to record words, sentences or advertising utterances watched on YouTube and then analyze the illocutionary speech acts. Data validity testing techniques include observation, triangulation and reference adequacy. The results of data analysis show that the types, utterances, and functions of illocutionary acts in milk drink advertisements on the IKLANESIA HD YouTube channel consist of 5 types of illocutionary speech acts according to Searle's theory, namely assertive illocutionary, directive illocutionary, commissive illocutionary, expressive illocutionary and declarative illocutionary.

Abstract

This study aims of analyzing These types of language styles are used to show the soul and personality of the author through the use of language styles. This research uses a stylistic study, descriptive method in the form of qualitative research. The data source of this research is a collection of poetry Salah Piknik by Joko Pinurbo with data in the form of quotations in the form of stanzas or lines. The data collection technique used is a documentary study with the researcher as a data collection tool. The data that has been collected is tested for validity with reader persistence and theoretical triangulation. Based on the results of data collection and analysis, it was found that metaphorical language style in 20 poetry, personification language style in 15 poetry, irony language style in 11 poetry, anaphora language style in 6 poetry, anticlimax language style in 1 poetry, simile language style in 1 poetry, hyperbole language style in 1 poetry and metonymy language style in 5 poetry. This research has a connection to the 2013 curriculum for Indonesian Language and Literature subjects at the high school level, class XII even semester. The results of this study are expected to be used by teachers as teaching materials in schools related to literature learning materials

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the Suggestopedia learning method to improve the poetry writing skills of grade 8 students of SMP Negeri 6 Sungai Raya in the 2022/2023 academic year. The research findings are based on a teacher using the Teacher Performance Assessment Tool (IPKG) and his observations of students in two learning cycles. Based on learning practice it is proven that this method can increase the value of students' poetry writing skills, with an average score of 67.62 for the first rubric of cycle I compared to the previous rubric. The previous cycle corresponded to an average value of 62. Final Results The average value of cycle II reached 74.56 above the average value of cycle I. However, in cycle II the average value was 79.82 compared to the value of cycle 1 and increased by 16 .63 compared to pre-cycle values. The percentage of completeness in cycle II has also reached an indicator of success in class learning, namely 75% of the total number of students in the class.
