Abstract

Proses hemodialisis menyebabkan individu mengalami distres. Kronisnya sakit, pengobatan yang menyakitkan serta perawatan yang menuntut perubahan pola hidup memicu timbulnya distorsi kognitif dan perilaku maladaptif terhadap sakit. Distorsi kognitif dan perilaku maladaptif merupakan penyebab timbulnya distres. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy merupakan intervensi yang dapat menurunkan distres dengan mengubah distorsi kognitif dan perilaku maladaptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui proses distres pada proses hemodialisis serta mengetahui efektivitas CBT dalam menurunkan distres pada proses hemodialisis. Desain penelitian ini adalah one group pretest-posttest dengan jumlah partisipan tiga orang. Proses penelitian dibagi menjadi dua tahap, yaitu tahap asesmen dan tahap intervensi. Data yang dikumpulkan pada tahap asesmen digunakan sebagai dasar pembuatan rancangan intervensi. Teknik pengumpulan data tahap asesmen dilakukan dengan wawancara dan Haemodyalisis Stressor Scale. Hasil asesmen menunjukkan terdapat dua kelompok stresor, yaitu stresor berkaitan dengan proses hemodialisis, seperti penerimaan sakit, proses dan dampak hemodialisis, diet hemodialisis serta ketakutan terhadap kematian dan stresor di luar proses hemodialisis, seperti kondisi finansial dan hubungan perkawinan. Penelitian ini berfokus terhadap stresor yang berkaitan dengan proses hemodialisis. Tahap intervensi dilakukan untuk mengetahui keefektivan CBT dalam menurunkan distres. Teknik yang digunakan adalah restrukturisasi pikiran, positive self talk, tugas rumah, mental distraction, relaksasi, stimulus-kontrol, chunking dan here and now focus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CBT menurunkan distres akibat proses hemodialisis yang terlihat dari perubahan distorsi yang lebih positif pada primary appraisal dan secondary appraisal serta perubahan perilaku coping yang lebih adaptif.

Abstract

Facebook is one of the most popular social media among the public. Facebook is one of the online social networking or social networking sites created to provide technological facilities with the intention that users can socialize or interact in cyberspace. Someone addicted to making Facebook an important cause that can't be given up. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a significant association between narcissistic behavior and Facebook addiction among students at State Vocational High School 2 Kupang City. The participants in this study were students from Kupang City State Vocational High School 2, a total of 226 respondents. This study uses correlation analysis. The result of the analysis shows that there is a correlation coefficient between the variable’s narcissistic behavior and Facebook addiction of 0.771 with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

. Anxiety is one of the emotional problems experienced by young offenders in LPKA (Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak/Juvenile Detention Center) Kupang and this condition has a negative impact on their rehabilitation process. The condition requires psychological intervention. This research aimed to understand the impact of the Beta Rasa Program in reducing anxiety. Beta Rasa Program focuses on improving young offender’s emotional regulation ability. This research was a quasi-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. In total, there were 20 young offenders participating in this program for 4 sessions. Paired sample t-test was used to analyze data in this research. Young offender’s anxiety was measured by Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). The research showed a significant decrease in young offenders’ anxiety (t = 2.116, p = 0.02) after they joined Beta Rasa Program. The effect size of this program was 0.41. The result indicates that Beta Rasa Program has a moderate effect to reduce anxiety.

Abstract

Dysfunctional families are the originators of complex problems, so it is important for individual survivors of dysfunctional families to have self-compassion in themselves. This study aims to describe and provide an overview related to self-compassion in dysfunctional family survivors, and can provide an overview related to self-compassion by looking at aspects: self-kindness, self-judgment, common humanity, isolation, mindfulness, and over-identification. This study uses a qualitative method. The data collection technique used in this study was using the Photovoice method (photos tell stories). After that, participants were given digging questions in the form of interviews. The interview method used is in-depth interviewing. while the data analysis technique used by researchers in this study is Thematic Analysis. Participants were 5 survivors of dysfunctional families with inadequate parenting types, authoritarian parents, parents with violent behavior, controlling parents, and alcoholic parents. As a result, three main themes were found, namely vulnerabilities experienced by survivors of dysfunctional families, psychological wounds, and self-compassion. Participants in this study tend to have good self-compassion. This is illustrated by the ability of self-kindness, mindfulness, forgiveness and common humanity that have been developed by the participants of dysfunctional family survivors.

Abstract

Criminal acts in Indonesia have increased. These acts are triggered by social and emotional factors that make someone designated as a prisoner. Being in prison triggers feelings of loneliness, which is an emotional and cognitive response to the situation of someone who has few social relationships because they do not match what they want. Loneliness is caused by a lack of support, personality, relationships and isolation of the inmates, and this has an impact on the level of loneliness. This research aims to determine the level of loneliness among inmates at the Class IIb Women's Penitentiary in Kupang City. The type of research is descriptive quantitative. Participants in the research were 48 participants. The research results show that loneliness is in the high category at 48%. Loneliness aspect scores viz Social Desirability 52% is in the high category. The research results are expected the Class IIb Women's Penitentiary in Kupang City can maximize programs already running by building innovations in each program to reduce loneliness among inmates.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how meaningful the lives of nuns who serve lepers at the Bunda Pembantu Abadi Naob Hospital, East Noemuti District, Timor Tengah Regency. This study used 5 subjects with the criteria of nuns serving lepers. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, with two data collection methods, namely observation and interviews. The data that was obtained was analyzed using thematic analysis techniques and produced three main themes, namely, 1) self-view 2) service dynamics 3) challenges and solutions. The choice of life to become a nun with the task of serving lepers is a form of responsibility to God, oneself and others. The choice of life to become a nun leads participants to discover their self-concept and self-esteem through serving vulnerable people, namely lepers. In service, participants encounter challenges, but participants are also able to find solutions to each challenge, namely spiritual activities and an attitude of self-acceptance.

Abstract

Interventions related to forgiveness have a positive impact on individuals' positive emotions. Forgiveness is important for victims who experience bitterness. There is still little research that discusses forgiveness among juvenile offenders. Juvenile offenders are 'victims' of other offenders, thus causing juvenile offenders have negative emotions towards other people and themselves. The aim of this research is to know effectivity of 'Beta Pulih' program to help juvenile offenders reduce negative emotions. The Beta Pulih program is designed based on Enright's forgiveness process. The design of this research is quasi-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design. Participants were selected using random sampling from children detention center in Kupang. The number of participants was 16 people. Participants take the program for four sessions. The research results show that the Beta Pulih Program can reduce the negative emotions of juvenile offenders with a value of t = 9,188 and a significance of 0.000, which shows that there is a difference in negative emotions before and after the program is implemented. Juvenile offenders are also aware of the hurt they are experiencing, but find it difficult to express positive emotions in an adaptive way. The implication of this research is to design private sessions with juvenile offenders to help juvenile offenders be able to express positive emotions.

Abstract

Data on sexual violence againts children in NTT Province continues to increase yearly. Most cases of sexual violence against children occur at home and are commited by those closest to the child, often leaving the child feeling powerless to report the abuse. As a result, the sexual violence can persist for a long time. The challenges in uncovering the sexual violence experienced by children make it essential for adults around them to proactively engage in preventing such cases and to equip themselves with the skills to assist children who experience sexual violence. This community service aims to (1) increase knowledge regarding sexual violence for teachers at child development centers on Rote Island and (2) Provide skills in assisting children who are victims of sexual violence to teachers at child development centers on Rote Island. This community service activity was attended by 15 child development center teachers, 3 men and 12 women. The analysis showed an average increase in pre-test and post-test scores of 17.6 points. The mentoring skills of the participants also improved. This service activity produced several outcomes, such as leaflets on the issue of sexual violence, journal articles, online media publications, and videos of community service activities.

Abstract

This study explores the forms of revictimization experiences of sexual violence survivors who decided to report their cases through legal process and examines the impact on their mental health. The study utilized a multi-method design involving interviews and DASS-42. Qualitative data were analyzed thematic analysis, while quantitative data were presented using descriptive statistics. The study involved 10 female participants aged 13 to 17 years. Findings reveal several forms of revictimization, including power dynamics between perpetrator and victim, negative family reactions, and verbal abuse from the environment. Revictimization led to self-blame, self-isolation and intrusive sexual thought, and supported by quantitative data indicating high levels of anxiety (90%), depression (70%), and stress (40%) among participants. Consequently, there is a critical need for awareness among families and neighborhoods. Psychological support should be provided from the time of disclosure to the legal process in order to facilitate recovery and minimize further harm.

Abstract

The number of suicides increases every year. In 2023, 11 students will be recorded and published in mass media and social media. This service aims to enable students to understand the symptoms of people with suicidal tendencies (OKBD) and carry out prevention through early psychological support. The methods used in this service are lecturing, group discussions, games and role play. The training participants are student representatives from universities in Kupang City. The number of participants was 22 participants. The results of the service show that there is an increase in the average score before and after the service. Before the service the average value of participants' knowledge was 37.9, while the average value of participants' knowledge after attention was 54.4. This service has not optimally changed the participants' skills, because time is limited.
