Abstract

Abstract:  This community service activity was created to find out how high school students' abilities are in working on quantitative questions quickly and accurately, this community service activity was carried out at SMK Swasta Telkom 1 Medan where the results of the service went very smoothly and had a positive impact on students. This program is also designed to help students understand mathematics in a more practical and efficient way, so that they can solve existing problems more carefully and effectively. This activity also emphasizes the importance of mastering strong basic concepts to support the application of these strategies. The implementation of this activity involves various interactive learning methods; such as discussions, problem simulations, and direct practice that discusses how to quickly solve math problems for the PTN selection stage through one of the selections, namely SNBT, using quantitative knowledge strategiesKeywords: Strategy, in Answering, SNBT Questions.Abstrak : Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini di buat untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan siswa menengah atas dalam mengerjakan soal-soal kuantatif dengan cara yang cepat dan tepat, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMK Swasta Telkom 1 Medan dimana hasil dari pengabdian tersebut sangat berjalan dengan lancar dan memberikan dampak positif bagi para siswa. Program ini juga dirancang untuk membantu siswa memahami matematika dengan cara yang lebih praktis dan efisien, sehingga mereka dapat menyelesaikan persoalan yang ada dengan lebih cermat dan efektif. Kegiatan ini juga menekankan pentingnya penguasaan konsep dasar yang kuat untuk mendukung penerapan strategi-strategi tersebut. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini melibatkan berbagai metode pembelajaran interaktif; seperti diskusi, simulasi soal, dan praktik langsung yang  membahas tentang bagaimana metode cara cepat dalam menyelesaikan persoalan - persoalan matematika untuk tahap seleksi PTN melalui salah satu seleksi yaitu SNBT dengan menggunakan strategi pengetahuan kuantitatifKata kunci: Strategi, Dalam Menjawab, Soal SNBT

Abstract

Based on the background of the problem in this research, namely the low mathematical communication skills of class VIII students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School due to their lack of mathematical communication skills to learn and participate actively in mathematics lessons, the learning model applied so far seems monotonous which is still centered on teachers and mathematics learning in The Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School, especially in terms of building materials, has not implemented the Animaker learning model and media. The aims of this research are: 1) to determine the effect of the Inside Outside Circle type cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication abilities of class VIII students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School, 2) to determine the effectiveness of using Animaker media on the mathematical communication abilities of class VIII students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School. Based on the results of test calculations at a significance level of a - 5%, it is known that the t count is (19.716 > 2.032), then Ho is rejected and H is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the Inside Outside Circle type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills with the help of Animaker. Based on students' mathematical communication skills with the help of Animaker using a student response questionnaire, each student's average score and percentage were obtained in the "Very Good" category. The questionnaire was used to determine student responses to students' mathematical communication skills using the Inside Outside Circle learning model assisted by Animaker

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid, practical and effective Canva Interactive Learning Media product based on Malay culture on the material of linear equation systems and inequalities of one variable. Also to determine the level of mathematical literacy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) development study. The subjects used in this study were 32 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. The analysis of the Canva interactive learning media value from media validator experts was 78.5% with very good or valid criteria for use. For material experts with a percentage of 78%, the category is Very valid. The classification of the teacher's practicality questionnaire meets very practical with a percentage of 94% and the student response questionnaire score gets an average of 90% categorized as very practical to use. Effectiveness is obtained from the results of the N-Gain calculation, a comparison value of 0.75 is obtained with a high or very good effective category. In other words, the development of Canva interactive learning media is said to be developing with a percentage of 90%. The level of literacy ability before being given learning media with an average value of 66.37 is classified as low, but after being given learning media, students were given a post-test so that the average score of students was 91.875. It can be concluded that the level of mathematical literacy ability in students of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin is classified as high.

Abstract

This research is part of an experimental study using Problem Based Learning model to improve junior high school students' mathematical numeracy skills based on ethnomathematics. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of Validity, Reliability, Difficulty Index, and Discriminatory Power of the ethnomathematics-based numeracy ability test instrument for junior high school students. The instrument used was in the form of essay test questions from pretest and posttest questions. The calculation of validity, reliability, difficulty index, and discriminatory power used IBM SPSS Statistics 20. The results of this study showed that the pretest and posttest questions were valid with sig (2-tailed) values 0.05. The calculation results of the pretest questions showed that the essay question instrument fell into the reliable category, because the calculation result obtained was 0.690, making it suitable for use as an instrument for data collection. The difficulty level of pretest and posttest questions fell into the easy and moderate categories. The discriminatory power criteria of the questions were moderate and good. Based on these research results, the ethnomathematics-based student numeracy ability test instrument is suitable for use.

Abstract

Training and assistance in writing scientific journal articles for students of Al Azhar Medan Superior High School is carried out as an effort to improve students' academic literacy. This activity is based on the low ability of students to write scientific papers systematically, even though they have high academic potential. The method of implementing activities was carried out through face-to-face training for three days and online/offline assistance for two weeks. The activity was attended by 25 students of grade XI, and was evaluated using pre-test, post-test, observation, and assessment of writing results. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average score from 58.2 to 82.4, the number of students who were able to compile complete articles increased from 4 to 20 people, and eight articles were declared worthy of publication. In addition, 92% of students stated that this activity was very beneficial. This activity shows that participatory training approaches and systematic mentoring are effective in improving students' scientific literacy. The program also contributes to the formation of an academic culture and sustainable scientific writing skills at the high school level.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Auditory, Intellectually, and Repetition (AIR) learning model assisted by the Kahoot application on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability and examine its effectiveness in the learning process. This experimental study used a pretest–posttest control group design. The population consisted of 55 tenth-grade students of SMKS Al Washliyah Pasar Senen 2 Medan. Probability sampling selected two classes: experimental (30 students) and control (25 students). Research instruments included problem-solving tests and learning effectiveness questionnaires. Results showed that the experimental class achieved a higher posttest mean score (46.33) than the control class (36.59). A t-test indicated a significant difference (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Questionnaire results showed a “very good” category with 87.8% and 85.28% for experimental and control classes, respectively. This proves that applying the AIR model assisted by Kahoot effectively improves students’ mathematical problem-solving ability.
