Abstract

Regular handwashing is the first 5M health protocol and is effective in preventing the transmission of viruses and diseases. However, mobility and activities cause many to neglect to always have soap on hand when travelling. For this reason, a simple innovation for the use of soap is needed, namely by using paper soap. Paper soap is much more practical in its use and easy to carry anywhere. Based on the survey of the service team, several problems were found, such as students who were often absent from school due to illness, students' low understanding of hand washing with soap, and students' lack of knowledge in making paper soap. The purpose of this community service is to improve students' knowledge and skills in applying the six steps of handwashing with soap and to improve students' skills in making paper soap with natural ingredients. This community service was carried out by providing counselling on the importance of hand washing, assistance in making paper soap from natural ingredients to students. The results obtained from this service are an increase in knowledge and creativity of students who initially did not know how to make paper soap to know, and increased student understanding of the steps of good and correct hand washing.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model in improving learning outcomes on style material in Class IV at SD Negeri 106156 Klumpang. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design was employed. The experimental group consisted of 20 students using Discovery Learning, while the control group included 20 students taught using the lecture method. A 25-item multiple-choice test was used as the instrument to measure learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using the t-test. The post-test results showed that the experimental group had an average score of 81.9, while the control group had an average of 72.2. The t-test result (tcount = 7.726) was greater than ttable (2.10092), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The improvement in the experimental group's pretest-posttest score was 19.6, compared to 9.4 in the control group. These findings suggest that the Discovery Learning model is more effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes than the lecture method.

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of the Think Pair and Share cooperative learning model on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Marindal II Elementary School, North Sumatra. The research, using an experimental method, involved 53 students divided into two groups: the experimental group applied the Think Pair and Share model, while the control group used conventional methods. Data were collected through pretest and posttest scores, as well as non-test observations, including teacher performance and student activity. Results showed that the experimental group achieved higher learning outcomes, with an average score of 84.40, compared to 69.46 in the control group. The study concluded that the Think Pair and Share model significantly improved student science learning outcomes. It is recommended that this model be adopted by teachers to enhance student engagement and performance.

Abstract

This study employed a True-Experimental Design involving all fourth-grade students at SDN 101729 Kampung Lalang, with a total of 56 participants, divided into an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 29 students. The data collection method used was a performance test, which was validated through a rater reliability test and content validation. The hypothesis was tested using the independent sample t-test. The research findings indicate that the pretest data from both the experimental and control groups were normally distributed and homogeneous. The t-value for the pretest was smaller than the t-table (0.036 < 0.05), indicating that there was no significant difference between the two groups before the intervention. However, the posttest results showed that the t-calculated value (0.729 > 0.05) was higher than the t-table, indicating a significant effect of the Cooperative Script Model on students' learning interest. The findings suggest that the Cooperative Script Model is more effective in enhancing learning interest compared to conventional methods. This model is recommended for further implementation in other subjects to increase student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between parental attention and mathematics learning outcomes in fifth-grade students at SDN 106788 Purwodadi Medan Sunggal. This research uses a quantitative approach with a total sample of 17 students, selected through total random sampling. The study focuses on the variables of parental attention and mathematics learning outcomes. Data were collected using questionnaires and tests. The validity of the instruments was assessed using the Product Moment formula, and reliability was tested using the Alpha formula. Descriptive analysis was used to present the data in tables, while parametric analysis employed product moment correlation techniques. The results indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between parental attention and mathematics learning outcomes, as shown by the correlation coefficient (r_count > r_table = 0.555 > 0.227). Thus, it can be concluded that parental attention plays a significant role in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students.

Abstract

This study employs an experimental research design to determine the effect of using the Game-Based Learning model on students' learning outcomes in spatial building materials. The research uses a True-Experimental Design with a Posttest Only Control Group Design approach. The population includes all fifth-grade students from SDN 060799 Medan Labuhan, consisting of two classes, Class V A and Class V B. Sampling was conducted using a simple random sampling technique. The results show that the average posttest score in the experimental group, which used the Game-Based Learning model, was 76, while the control group scored 70.95. Hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test yielded a t-value of 2.072, which is greater than the critical value of t-table (1.684), with a significance level of 0.044 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the Game-Based Learning model has a significantly greater impact on student learning outcomes compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif Quasy Experimental Design dengan populasi semua siswa kelas V MIN 1 Medan berjumlah 35 orang, yaitu kelas eksperimen 14 orang dan kelas kontrol 21 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data digunakan adalah tes unjuk kerja yang telah diuji cobakan sebelumnya menggunakan uji reliabilitas rater dan uji validasi isi. Sedangkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan diperkuat dengan analisis gain score (N-gain). Adapun kriteria pengujian hipotesis adalah Ha ditolak jika tidak terjadi peningkatan rata-rata pada postest dan sebaliknya, Ho ditolak jika terjadi peningkatan rata-rata pada postest.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, rata – rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen pada pretest adalah 71,81 dan pada posttest 98,19. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol rata – rata hasil pretes adalah 76.91 dan pada posttest adalah 80,52. Perbedaan kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, selisih menunjukan bahwa penguatan memberikan peningkan yang signififikan yakni dari 71,81 menjadi 98,19. Terdapat selisih 26,38. Sedangkan pada kelas control selisih menunjukkan dari 76,91 menjadi 80,52. Terdapat selisih 3,61, artinya Ha diterima. Ha diterima artinya antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol mempunyai varians yang sama pada saat pradata. Hasil posttest menunjukkan bahwa data kedua kelasa berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Berdasarkan uji 2. Analisis uji gain score kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,47 dan berada pada kategori sedang, yakni lebih besar dari 0,3 dan kurang dari 0,7 (0,7 < 0,47 ≥ 0,3). Untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh gain score sebesar 0,07 berada pada katagori rendah.Penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe pairs checks diharapkan menjadi pertimbangan bagi guru kelas V dalam  mengajarkan pelajaran IPA di kelas. Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe pairs checks terbukti dapat dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa yang pada akhirnya terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran value clarification technique (VCT) terhadap sikap nasionalisme siswa pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini dilakukan di UPT SPF SDN 106796 Bulu Cina Tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Non- equivalent control group design. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 38 siswa yang terdiri dari 19 siswa untuk kelompok eksperimen dan 19 siswa untuk kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi siswa dan angket yang terdiri dari 21 item pernyataan. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji-t, dan berdasarkan perhitungan uji t menunjukkan thitung 2,209 dan ttabel 1,688 (2,209 ≥ 1,688) atau nilai sig (2-tailed) lebih besar dari 0,05 (0,034 < 0,05) dengan resiko kesalahan 5%, maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa “Rata-rata sikap nasionalisme siswa dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial yang menggunakan model VCT lebih tinggi dari rata-rata sikap nasionalisme siswa dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional”. Dengan demikian, penggunaan model pembelajaran value clarifacition technique (VCT) berpengaruh terhadap sikap nasionalisme siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) produce Pop-Up Book learning media in the Thematic learning of food production technology development material in grade III SD Negeri 101921 Beringin, (2) find out the feasibility and practicality of Pop-Up Book learning media in the Thematic learning of food production technology development material in grade III SD Negeri 101921 Beringin which is valid from the results of feasibility validation by material experts, media experts, learning experts, and student responses. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research with a 4D model developed by Thiagarajan (1974) which includes four steps, namely: the stages of define, design, development, and disseminate. The instruments used to collect data are interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Based on the assessment of the validation results by material experts, 96% scores, media experts get 97.3% and learning experts get 93.3%, resulting in Pop-Up Book products that are very suitable for use for third grade elementary school students. Therefore, from the data from the validation results of the three validators, it can be concluded that the Pop-Up Book media in the Thematic learning of the Food Production Technology Development material was declared valid and there was no revision by experts, so it was declared very suitable to be used as a teaching material in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the jigsaw learning method on the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SDN 101900 Lubuk Pakam. The primary issue addressed in this research is the low student engagement, which necessitates innovative teaching methods to enhance learning interest. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires completed by both students and teachers. The findings reveal that the implementation of the jigsaw method significantly improved students' learning interest. This is evidenced by an average student score of 78.4% (categorized as good) and a teacher score of 3.22%, equivalent to 80% (good). The jigsaw method was deemed effective as it fosters active interaction among students and boosts learning motivation. The study concludes that this method serves as a viable instructional strategy to enhance student engagement and interest, particularly at the elementary school level.
