Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a design project in a preservice biology teacher education course titled "Biology Education for Sustainability," aiming to enhance creativity while addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This work presents a comprehensive framework divided into 10 chapters, spanning approximately 16 weeks (or about three and a half months) of meetings, each corresponding to key lessons designed to empower preservice biology teachers. In addition, the project engages preservice teachers in collaborative teams to identify local environmental challenges related to specific SDGs, such as clean water, climate action, and life on land. Utilizing a design thinking framework, participants engage in brainstorming, prototype development, and iterative feedback that lead to the fostering of innovative solutions. Moreover, data were collected through pre- and post-project surveys, reflective journals, and presentations to assess the impact on creativity, understanding of the SDGs, and confidence in teaching sustainability concepts. The results indicate significant improvements in creative problem-solving skills and a deeper awareness of the SDGs, along with increased motivation to integrate sustainability into their future teaching practices. As a result, this experiment highlights the effectiveness of experiential learning in the "Biology Education for Sustainability" course, preparing preservice teachers to address global challenges through innovative and creative educational strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penulisan referensi jurnal bagi guru SMK Ketintang Surabaya dengan memanfaatkan teknologi Publish or Perish dan Chat GPT. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang dilakukan meliputi survei awal untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan peserta, pelatihan penggunaan teknologi untuk pencarian dan penyusunan referensi, serta sesi tanya jawab dan diskusi untuk memperdalam pemahaman. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam berbagai aspek keterampilan. Sebelum pelatihan, pemahaman peserta tentang cara mencari referensi jurnal hanya mencapai 40%, namun setelah pelatihan meningkat menjadi 85%. Kemampuan menggunakan Publish or Perish dan menyusun referensi sesuai format sitasi juga meningkat dari 25% menjadi 80% dan dari 35% menjadi 90%, berturut-turut. Kepercayaan diri peserta dalam menulis referensi jurnal meningkat dari 30% menjadi 85%, serta keterampilan menggunakan Chat GPT untuk mengedit referensi meningkat dari 20% menjadi 75%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berhasil mencapai tujuannya dan memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas penulisan referensi jurnal bagi guru. Penggunaan teknologi dalam pendidikan terbukti efektif untuk mendukung pengembangan profesional guru dan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran serta penelitian di lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

The use of inductive loads on a household scale, especially in electricity customers with a power of 1300 VA, often leads to low power factor values (cos φ) which degrades power quality. This study aims to design and build an Arduino-based automatic capacitor bank system capable of dynamically improving power quality in 1300 VA household electrical installations. The system integrates an Arduino Nano microcontroller with a PZEM-004T sensor to monitor electrical parameters—such as voltage, current, and cos φ—in real time and automatically controls capacitor switching through relays to provide the most suitable compensation. Experimental results show that the system successfully increased the power factor from an average of 0.75 to 0.97 under varying load conditions. In addition, the implementation reduced reactive power by up to 65% and demonstrated potential savings in electricity bills of approximately 8–12% for household consumers. These findings indicate that the proposed system not only improves power factor close to ideal conditions (cos φ ≈ 1) but also enhances overall energy efficiency and provides tangible economic benefits for household users.

Abstract

Single-phase induction motors are widely used in domestic and industrial applications, but they have the main disadvantage of significant initial current surges, which have the potential to damage components and degrade power quality. This research proposes a solution through the design and implementation of an Arduino Nano-based soft start automation system to overcome these surges. The developed system uses Arduino Nano as the main microcontroller integrated with the PZEM-004T sensor for real-time monitoring of electrical parameters, as well as relays as an efficient switching mechanism. The method applied is the manipulation of the value of the resistor to limit the initial current, with the aim of measuring the effectiveness of the system in reducing the current surge. Focusing on testing a fully functioning system, the study is expected to prove a drastic decrease in initial current spikes. The results of this study can show that the Arduino Nano-based soft start automation system is effective in improving the performance and efficiency of induction motors, as well as being a practical guide for similar applications in the industry.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis signifikansi pengaruh kepemimpinan islami, motivasi kerja islami, budaya organisasi islami terhadap kepuasan kerja islami. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu data primer. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 84 orang Guru Pondok Pesantren Imam Bukhari, Karanganyar. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuisioner dan studi pustaka. Uji instrumen penelitian menggunakan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Uji asumsi klasik menggunakan uji: multikolonieritas, heteroskedastisitas, dan normalitas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier berganda, uji t, uji F dan R2. Hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa semua pernyataan mengenai kepemimpinan islami, motivasi kerja islami, budaya organisasi islami dan kepuasan kerja islami dinyatakan valid karena p-value < 0,05 dan reliabel karena cronbach’s alpha > 0,60. Hasil uji asumsi klasik menunjukkan bahwa semua variabel telah lolos uji multikolinieritas, heteroskedastisitas, dan normalitas berdistribusi normal. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan setiap variabel berpengaruh positif. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan islami, motivasi kerja islami, budaya organisasi islami berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja islami. Hasil uji F diperoleh bahwa model regresi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sudah tepat. Hasil uji R² menunjukkan besarnya sumbangan pengaruh variabel independen terhadap dependen sebesar 76,8%, sisanya 23,2% diterangkan oleh variabel lain diluar model misalnya stress kerja, beban kerja, lingkungan kerja, dan lain-lain di luar penelitian ini
