Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of production, land area, and labor on the Farmer Exchange Rate of the smallholder plantation crops subsector individually or partially and the effect of production, land area, and labor simultaneously on the Farmer Exchange Rate in North Maluku Province in 2014 -2018. The object of this study was the farmers of North Maluku Province because the agricultural sector plays an important role and contributes greatly to the economy in North Maluku Province. This study was conducted in January-May 2020. The data collected and processed in this study are data within 5 years. The population in this study was all data on the Farmer Exchange Rate, agricultural production, agricultural land area, and labor in North Maluku Province in 2014-2018. The data used in this study were secondary data obtained from the Central Agency on Statistics of North Maluku Province in 2020 and other literature related to this study. The test tool used is multiple linear regression analysis, and the analytical tool used was IBM SPSS Statistics 16.0 software. The results showed that partially production did not affect the Farmer Exchange Rate of smallholder plantation crops in North Maluku province. Partially, land areas affect the Farmer Exchange Rate of smallholder plantation crops in North Maluku province. Individually or partially, the labor did not affect the Farmer Exchange Rate of smallholder plantation crops in North Maluku province. Abstract

Investigating structural relations between sectors is important from a policy point of view. A clear perspective on cross-sectoral relations can be useful in formulating profitable and appropriate development strategies. This study compares Agricultural Demand Led Industrialization (ADLI) and Export-Led Industrialization (ELI) strategies. In making a comparison, the two strategies are used; multiplier matrix that describes the impact on endogenous variables due to changes in exogenous variables. Impact analysis with a simulation of the investment amount to see the impact on the formation of output, creation of gross value added, absorption of labor, income, and taxes. Cluster analysis aims to classify objects based on the characteristics of the observed object. The One Way Anova test is useful to determine whether there are differences in the investment simulation of each category, ADLI and ELI. The results of this study indicate that the sectors in the ADLI category have advantages in creating gross added value. In contrast, the sectors in the ELI category have advantages in creating output, income, taxes and employment. Furthermore, using the One-Way ANOVA test, it can be concluded that statistically, there is no average difference between ADLI and ELI in the output, labor, income, and tax variables.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of inflation, per capita income. The method used is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression models, which are continued by the classical assumption test. This research uses secondary data, precisely ten years of time-series data from 2010-2019 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics, books, literature, the internet, records, and other sources related. The research sample consisted of 40 data taken per quarter, from 2010-2019. The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear regressions. The results showed that inflation had a negative and insignificant effect on Human Development Index (HDI). In contrast, per capita income and unemployment had a negative and significant effect on Human Development Index (HDI). Inflation, per capita income, and unemployment significantly affected the Human Development Index (HDI) in Ternate City. The independent variable’s determination (R Square) on the dependent variable is 0.836 or 83.6%. It means inflation, per capita income, and unemployment can affect the Human Development Index (HDI) in Ternate City at 83.6%, remaining 16.4% by other factors.
