Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri di kelas XI A SMA Negeri 2 Topoyo. Penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kurt Lewin yang meliputi perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 19 siswa pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket kemandirian belajar dan lembar observasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan rumus N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemandirian belajar dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori sedang (36,85%) dan 21,05% berada pada kategori sangat rendah, dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,08 (kategori rendah). Setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada siklus II, kemandirian belajar meningkat signifikan, ditandai dengan 26,32% siswa berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dan 52,63% pada kategori tinggi. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain juga meningkat menjadi 0,47 yang termasuk kategori sedang. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri efektif dalam menumbuhkan kemandirian belajar siswa, bahkan di sekolah dengan keterbatasan sarana. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara berkelanjutan sebagai strategi mengembangkan keterampilan belajar mandiri pada jenjang pendidikan menengah.

Abstract

Biodiversity refers to the variety of living organisms, encompassing genetic, species, and ecosystem diversity within a particular area. Epiphytic orchids are orchids that grow on other plants but are not parasitic, as they only attach to the trunks, branches, or twigs of living or dead trees without deriving nutrients directly from their hosts. This study aimed to analyze the diversity and distribution patterns of epiphytic orchid species in Bukit Pasapa Kurrak and to explore their implementation as a biological learning resource. This research employed a quantitative approach using an exploratory survey method. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed by calculating several ecological indices, including the Important Value Index (IVI), Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H’), Simpson dominance index (C), evenness index (E), and Morisita’s index of dispersion (Id). The results showed that the diversity of epiphytic orchid species in Bukit Pasapa Kurrak was categorized as moderate, with a Shannon–Wiener diversity index of H’ = 1.66. The distribution pattern of epiphytic orchids in the study area was classified as random, with a Morisita index (Ip) of 0.04. Furthermore, validation results from two expert validators indicated that the developed learning resource was highly valid and feasible to implement as a biology learning resource.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore population and condition data on the Sulawesi Water Rat (Waiomys mamasae) from an ethnozoological perspective in five buffer villages surrounding Gandang Dewata National Park. Using a cluster sampling technique, 66 respondents from various professions with direct interaction with river ecosystems were selected, including hunters, farmers, and other individuals frequently active in river areas. Data were collected through questionnaire-based interviews to obtain information regarding the frequency of sightings of this species and its utilization in local communities. The results showed that 50% of respondents had directly observed the Sulawesi Water Rat, while the rest had never encountered it. In terms of utilization, local communities use this species as a protective talisman to prevent house fires, as traditional medicine, and as a source of food. Several local beliefs also describe unique abilities of this species, such as the capacity to walk on water or remain submerged for extended periods. The age distribution of respondents was dominated by individuals aged 35–48 years (32%), followed by other age groups. This study provides important insights into local knowledge and the relationship between communities and W. mamasae, which can serve as an important basis for conservation efforts and ecosystem management in the buffer areas of Gandang Dewata National Park
