Abstract

A community is a forum where individuals gather to form a group that takes the initiative to start a process of activities that can improve the situation and condition oneself to carry out positive actions to solve community welfare problems. In addition, the community plays an active role as a forum for distributing various information and promoting tourist attractions. This study explores tourism promotion through a community, especially cultural tourism in Ternate City, North Maluku, Indonesia. This community is called the Ternate heritage Society Community (THS). This study used an ethnographic qualitative approach, and data collection was obtained through observation,  interviews, and documentation. This study was conducted in Ternate City using Charmaz's approach. The results of this study show that THS has used a community branding strategy as a form of cultural tourism promotion in Ternate City. Based on the findings, the community covers two aspects—Branding and medium of Promotion. In terms of branding, it can be defined that branding of a cultural community refers to cultural identity, agent of change, and internalized cultural values. Six indicators formed this definition—existing role models, establishing community categories, being motivated, timelines, and character uniqueness of the community. Regarding the medium of Promotion, THS has been an agent of Promotion by optimizing digital marketing for millennials. Future studies are also suggested on promoting cultural heritage to the youth.

Abstract

Complexity and uncertainty has led organizations to sustaining the strategic operations for future challenges. Project management is expected to uplift its scope in managing complex projects into strategic level. The study aims to offer a prospective angle in realizing organization’s goals by managing a number of small projects that are reached through a competition of limited resources within an organization. Program management is suggested as methodological paraphernalia, particularly in refining pathways of strengthening an organization, including a higher education institution such as Khairun University. The study demonstrated a solution to manage small and separated projects concurrently.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: Financial technology (Fintech) has become a solution for many SMEs seeking to improve business performance in an increasingly competitive business environment. Thus, it is important to investigate the factors underlying SMEs’ decision to adopt Fintech. Background Problem: Previous studies have applied various theoretical frameworks to explore Fintech adoption. Despite this, limited knowledge exists regarding the determinants influencing the adoption of Fintech among SMEs. Novelty: By using innovation diffusion theory, this study examines the underlying elements that contribute to the adoption of Fintech by SMEs. Research Methods: Data were collected using the survey approach. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to SMEs in Indonesia using purposive sampling, yielding 273 responses. The data were then analyzed using the partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) method. Findings/Results: The results confirmed all hypotheses developed for the study. Specifically, relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, and observability positively affect attitude towards Fintech adoption. In turn, positive attitude towards the adoption of Fintech has a significant impact on the intention to use Fintech. In addition, attitude mediates the relationship between IDT factors (relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, and observability) and Fintech adoption intention. Conclusion: Innovation diffusion theory is able to explain the factors that form SMEs' attitude and adoption intention toward Fintech. The outcomes of this research provide important implications both theoretically and practically.

Abstract

Abstract Teacher performance is an important variable that determines the success of schools in realizing a quality and quality educational process. However, the achievement of expected teacher performance according to educational demands cannot be separated from the principal's instructional leadership and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) factors possessed by teachers. This study aims to examine the effect of instructional leadership on teacher performance mediated by OCB in public senior high schools (SMA/SMK) throughout Jailolo district, West Halmahera regency. This study uses a causality design with a quantitative research approach. The data in this study are primary data collected through distributing questionnaires to 75 senior high school (SMA/SMK) teachers throughout Jailolo district, West Halmahera regency. The data were then analyzed using the partial least squares-structural equation model (SEM-PLS) method with smartPLS4 software. The results showed that instructional leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, instructional leadership has a positive and significant effect on OCB, OCB has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, and OCB is able to partially mediate the effect of instructional leadership on teacher performance in senior high schools (SMA/SMK) throughout Jailolo district, West Halmahera regency. Further research is expected to address the limitations of this study.
