Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of implementing the merdeka curriculum, which emphasizes character development through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), particularly within the theme of local wisdom. Preliminary findings indicated that prior to the implementation of P5, students had limited understanding of social issues such as bullying, discrimination, and diversity. Therefore, appropriate teaching strategies are required to shape students’ character and enhance their social awareness The research questions addressed in this study are: (1) What strategies do teachers use to implement P5 material with the theme of local wisdom in Sociology learning for Grade X students at SMAN 1 Kalidawir? (2) What are the impacts of the applied strategies on the learning process? (3) What challenges do teachers face in implementing these strategies?. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research design. The aim is to explore the strategies used by teachers, their impacts on students, and the challenges encountered during the implementation of P5 materials. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the study show that: (1) Teachers implemented project-based, collaborative, and contextual learning strategies that involved the local environment as a learning resource. (2) These strategies had a positive impact on students’ understanding of local cultural values and encouraged attitudes of tolerance and social awareness. (3) Challenges faced by teachers included limited time, varying levels of student motivation, and insufficient supporting facilities. Despite these obstacles, teachers strived to overcome them through collaboration, innovative learning approaches, and student-centered methods.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of local wisdom-based Sociology learning in strengthening students' understanding of regional culture at SMAN 1 Boyolangu. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were teachers and 12th-grade students. The results indicate that the learning process integrates elements of local culture into Sociology materials through discussions, cultural site visits, and local case studies. This implementation positively impacts students by increasing their learning interest, cultural understanding, and sense of pride in local heritage. Challenges include limited local-based learning resources and insufficient teacher training. These findings suggest that a local wisdom-based approach is effective in supporting contextual and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Social Studies (IPS) teachers in implementing Pancasila values in Social Studies learning for eighth-grade students at MTs Negeri 2 Jombang. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Social Studies teachers and eighth-grade students. The results showed that the implementation of Pancasila values was carried out by integrating values such as tolerance, mutual cooperation, and social justice into Social Studies learning and students' daily interactions. Strategies included regular religious activities, moral messaging, and exemplary behavior by teachers. This implementation positively impacted character development, reduced bullying behavior, and increased awareness of diversity and unity. Challenges included students' diverse backgrounds and limited instructional time. These findings indicate that Social Studies teachers play a central role in instilling Pancasila values to shape students into individuals with strong character and a sense of national identity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parental and teacher support with geography learning achievement of grade X students at MA Ma'arif Udanawu Blitar. This research uses quantitative research and the type of correlation and relationship research. Data collection methods for parental and teacher support in this study using a questionnaire, while to obtain learning outcomes data using odd semester report card scores. This study used a sample of 96 students from a total population of 642 grade X students at MA Ma'arif Udanawu Blitar. Analysis data on hypothesis testing using product moment correlation test and multiple linear regression test. The results of this study indicate that parental support and teachers have a positive and significant relationship with geography learning achievement of grade X students at MA Ma'arif Udanawu Blitar, as evidenced by the significance value of the F test of 0.000 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Social Studies (IPS) teachers in optimizing students’ learning activeness through the implementation of the Active Learning model at SMPN 3 Srengat Blitar. The background of this study includes issues such as students’ lack of discipline when entering the classroom, classroom attitudes and habits that hinder the learning process, and the use of monotonous and less engaging teaching methods. The purpose of this research is to examine the role of IPS teachers, the impact of implementing Active Learning, the challenges teachers face, and institutional support provided by the school in enhancing student engagement. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school authorities. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and theories. The results indicate that IPS teachers actively serve as facilitators and motivators in implementing Active Learning strategies, such as group discussions, student presentations, and the use of interactive media. The application of this model increased student participation, encouraged self-expression, and enhanced classroom engagement. Despite challenges such as time constraints and varying student readiness, school support significantly contributed to the successful implementation of this approach. Thus, Active Learning is proven to be effective in creating an engaging and student-centered learning environment, aligning with the theory proposed by Bonwell and Eison.

Abstract

This study explores women's citizenship practices and their role in shaping social power dynamics within community-based development programs in Blitar Regency, East Java. Focusing on the KOTAKU (City Without Slums) and Desa/Kelurahan Berseri (Radiant Village) programs, the research examines how women contribute to inclusive and sustainable development through active participation in both planning and implementation stages. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was gathered through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Findings indicate that women participated in the rembug (community consultation) stage, voicing needs and shaping development priorities. This early engagement enabled more inclusive and representative decision-making. During program implementation, women provided vital logistical support, such as preparing meals and refreshments for workers, demonstrating care, ownership, and solidarity. These roles, though often perceived as informal, were integral to program success and reflect meaningful expressions of civic agency. The study argues that recognizing women’s contributions—both strategic and supportive—is essential to redistributing social power and fostering gender equity. By highlighting women’s active citizenship, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how gender-inclusive development initiatives can transform community structures and promote more equitable and democratic outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of YouTube-based instructional videos in optimizing students' learning interaction on Sociology material in Social Studies learning for Grade VII at MTsN 2 Kota Blitar. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects consisted of a Social Studies teacher and seventh-grade students involved in the learning process using instructional videos. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the use of YouTube-based instructional videos enhances students' attention, participation, and engagement in the learning process. Visually engaging and relevant videos help students become more active in discussions, asking questions, and responding to the lesson. Teachers also find it easier to connect the material with real-life contexts through the visualizations provided by the videos. Although challenges such as limited internet access and infrastructure issues were encountered, they were addressed through careful planning. In conclusion, the use of YouTube-based instructional videos proves effective in optimizing students’ learning interaction and provides a more meaningful and enjoyable learning experience.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of social studies teachers in mitigating the negative impacts of TikTok usage among eighth-grade students at MTs Darul Falah Sumbergempol. With the rapid rise of social media use among adolescents, platforms like TikTok pose both opportunities and challenges, especially within educational and religious environments such as madrasas. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted in this study, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included social studies teachers and eighth-grade students who were active users of TikTok outside school hours. Findings revealed that the majority of students used TikTok extensively in their free time, often engaging in content consumption and trend participation for prolonged periods. The negative risks identified included a decline in academic focus, adoption of slang and behaviors inconsistent with madrasa values, and increased susceptibility to peer pressure. In response, social studies teachers played a pivotal role in addressing these issues by integrating digital literacy concepts into classroom instruction, promoting the creation of positive and educational content, and fostering open communication with parents to monitor usage outside school. These strategies contributed to increased student awareness of the potential harms of uncritical social media use. However, the study also highlighted ongoing challenges, such as institutional gadget restrictions in Islamic boarding school environments and the extended duration often required to shift entrenched behaviors and digital habits. The study concludes that social studies teachers, when supported by a collaborative framework involving parents and school policies, can significantly influence students' digital behavior. Strengthening media literacy education and promoting critical thinking are essential steps toward cultivating responsible and ethical social media use among adolescents in religious educational settings.

Abstract

This research study aims to examine the COVID-19 vaccination policy which is realized nationally in the perspective of the rights and obligations of citizens. This research method uses a normative legal approach, which combines a statute approach and a conceptual approach. The research findings show that health, including the human rights sector, is guaranteed by the constitution and legislation. The health crisis due to the impact of COVID-19 makes the fulfillment of citizens' human rights in the health sector very urgent to implement. Efforts are made to vaccinate in order to stop the spread of the virus and restore all state activities. The realization of the national vaccination program includes the fulfillment of rights and obligations in health facilities guaranteed in Law No. 6/2018 concerning Health Quarantine and Law No. 4 of 1984 regarding the Outbreak of Infectious Diseases. Citizens' rights to health insurance are stipulated in articles 28 and 34 of the 1945 Constitution. The perspective of the obligation in the vaccination program can be seen from Article 28 J paragraph 1 and also 2, the participation of citizens in vaccination is also included in efforts to provide a defense in accordance with Article 27 of the Constitution. 1945. The public may be subject to sanctions if they intentionally or unintentionally obstruct efforts to overcome the epidemic. Vaccination is expected to increase one's own immunity which will encourage the recovery of health, economy and national activities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the current decline in student learning achievement because they still carry online habits caused by Covid-19. This happens because they lack motivation and reduced discipline due to being online for too long. Therefore, it is necessary to provide motivation at the beginning of learning and it is necessary to tighten student discipline so that they can return to their original condition or be better. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between motivation in learning and the learning achievement of class VII students at MTs Ma'arif Udanawu, Blitar Regency. To find out whether there is a correlation between discipline and learning and the learning achievement of class VII students at MTs Ma'arif Udanawu, Blitar Regency. To determine the relationship between motivation and discipline on the learning achievement of class VII students at MTs Ma'arif Udanawu, Blitar Regency.This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. In this research, the subjects were class VII students at MTs Ma'arif Bakung Udanawu, Blitar Regency, totaling 373 students with a sample of 93 students. The approach used in data collection was distributing questionnaires to class VII students. Data analysis methods include research instrument tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression tests. The research results identified that 1) There is a partial positive and significant influence between motivation and learning achievement as shown by the t-count which is greater than the t-table (1.715 > 1.661). 2) Partially there is also a positive and significant influence between discipline and learning achievement as seen from the t-count results which exceed the t-table (1.843 > 1.661). 3) Simultaneously there is a positive and significant influence between motivation and discipline on learning achievement as indicated by Fcount greater than Ftable (4.835 > 3.10). 4) The contribution of the independent variable to the dependent variable is 31.8%. The conclusion of this research is that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and learning discipline and learning achievement.
