Abstract

Global technological changes have shifted the business paradigm, requiring business activities to not only be profit-oriented, but also capable of creating social value. This phenomenon requires the younger generation to not only be competent business people, but also play an active role in creating a positive social impact. This activity aims to strengthen the perspective of sociopreneurship and increase critical awareness of the importance of integrating economic and social aspects among the younger generation. The activity was carried out through a mini-talkshow, which reached audiences both offline and online. The results of the activity showed that sociopreneurship learning can be effectively internalized through an action-reflective approach, integrating managerial, entrepreneurial, and social responsibility aspects. These findings confirm that higher education has a strategic role as a space for developing the capacity of the younger generation to become competent, ethical, and socially sustainable business actors. This activity also instilled a new spirit and encouraged the younger generation to play an active role in creating positive social change in their surroundings, while strengthening their social value-based entrepreneurial competencies.

Abstract

Culinary SMEs in Makassar have significant economic potential, yet many struggle to adapt to digital marketing due to low digital literacy, limited content creation skills, and the absence of content convergence strategies. A needs assessment involving 50 SMEs confirmed these challenges and underscored the urgency of targeted digital capacity building. This program applied the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach to ensure active involvement of participants in identifying needs, designing solutions, implementing training, and evaluating outcomes. Activities included workshops on social media management, creative content production, and integrated content distribution using CapCut, Canva, and Meta Business Suite. The program led to notable improvements: 85% of participants gained a better understanding of social media algorithms, 80% mastered Meta Business Suite for content convergence, and engagement rates increased from 2% to 5%. Promotional efficiency improved by 30%, accompanied by a 25% rise in digital sales conversion. PRA-based digital literacy training effectively strengthened the promotional capacity and competitiveness of culinary SMEs in the digital ecosystem. The program also contributed to the achievement of university Key Performance Indicators (IKU) through community engagement and academic output.

Abstract

Employee performance is a key factor in the success of public infrastructure organizations, particularly in the electricity transmission sector, which operates in a high-risk and highly regulated environment. This study aims to analyze the role of workload and work motivation in shaping employee performance in public infrastructure organizations in the electricity transmission sector. The study uses a quantitative approach with a causality design and was conducted at PT PLN's Makassar Transmission Implementation Unit. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 60 permanent employees selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression preceded by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results show that workload and work motivation each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In addition, these two variables simultaneously have a significant influence, explaining 57.4% of the variation in employee performance. These findings indicate that in the context of an electricity transmission organization as a high-reliability public organization, a proportionally managed workload supported by adequate work motivation can encourage improved employee performance. This study provides empirical contributions in clarifying the mechanism of employee performance formation in the electricity sector and serves as a basis for more effective human resource management in public infrastructure organizations.

Abstract

Provide The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital marketing has grown rapidly, yet adoption levels among business actors remain varied. This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived usefulness, system quality, and algorithm credibility on the intention to use AI marketing. The research sample consisted of 100 business actors who have experience using AI marketing, distributed across Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through surveys and analyzed using simple and multiple regression to examine the effects of independent variables on the intention to use AI marketing. The results indicate that perceived usefulness, system quality, and algorithm credibility have both partial and simultaneous positive and significant effects on the intention to adopt AI marketing. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing understanding of technological benefits, system reliability, and algorithm transparency to promote AI adoption in digital marketing practices, providing strategic implications for AI developers and business actors.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of financial literacy, digital financial literacy, financial attitudes, and hedonistic lifestyles on financial behavior with self-efficacy and locus of control as mediating variables. The study used qualitative approach with survey design involving 200 students at State University of Makassar. Data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicated that financial literacy, digital financial literacy, and hedonistic lifestyle significantly influence to self-efficacy. In contrast, financial attitude does not have a statistically significant effect on self-efficacy. Furthermore, financial literacy, digital financial literacy, and financial attitude significantly influence to locus of control, while hedonistic lifestyle does not exert a meaningful influence on this construct. Concerning financial behavior, both of financial literacy and financial attitude show significant direct effect, whereas digital financial literacy and hedonistic lifestyle do not exhibit significant direct relationships. In addition, self-efficacy has a significant effect on financial behavior, while locus of control does not significantly predict this outcome. The mediation analysis indicates that only hedonistic lifestyle has a significant indirect effect on financial behavior through self-efficacy, whereas other indirect effect through self-efficacy and locus of control are not statistically significant. These findings suggest that self-efficacy functions as a more salient psychological mechanism than locus of control in connecting cognitive determinants and lifestyle orientation to financial behavior. This study's will contribute to the theoretical literature by clarifying the differential role of self-efficacy and locus of control. It offers practical implications, emphasizing that improving students’ financial behavior requires strengthening their confidence in financial decision-making and enhancing financial literacy.

Abstract

This study empirically examines how youth-driven Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Digital Literacy (DL) enhance MSME sustainability through the mediating role of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) utilization. Addressing the limited structural evidence on digital payment adoption as a mechanism that transforms internal human capital into measurable sustainable outcomes, this research contributes novel insights into the digitalization–sustainability nexus. A quantitative explanatory design was employed using survey data collected from youth MSME owners in Makassar. The structural relationships were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings demonstrate strong explanatory power (R² MSME Sustainability = 0.781; QRIS Utilization = 0.580) and confirm consistent partial mediation. QRIS utilization emerged as the strongest direct predictor of MSME sustainability and significantly amplified the total effects of both EO and DL. These results highlight the strategic importance of integrating human capital development with standardized digital payment systems to accelerate resilient and inclusive economic growth among young entrepreneurs. This study is among the first to structurally validate the sequential pathway linking EO and DL to MSME sustainability through QRIS adoption.

Abstract

Halal tourism studies have thus far been dominated by attributive and symbolic approaches, while the value dimensions underlying destination practices and sustainability have not been explored in depth. This study aims to investigate the value proposition underlying Lombok's halal tourism branding. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design in two community-based destinations. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions, then analyzed using content analysis through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that halal tourism practices in Lombok are shaped by ethical capital consisting of social dedication, understanding of halal, and obedience, which serve as the foundation of the destination's value proposition. These findings confirm that the sustainability and credibility of Lombok's halal tourism branding depend on the strength of local values that live within the business community, so that halal destination development strategies need to be directed at strengthening community values and involvement, not merely symbolic promotion.
