Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools is often teacher-centered, leading students to be less active, quickly bored, and to experience suboptimal learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of the Game-Based Learning model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Science at SD Negeri 040544 Dolat Rayat. The study used a quantitative, quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The research sample comprised 36 students: 20 in the experimental class and 16 in the control class. The main instrument was a 20-item learning outcome test that had undergone validity and reliability testing, with pretest reliability of 0.721 and posttest reliabilities of 0.681 and 0.723 for standardized items. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the homogeneity test, the paired-samples t-test, and the independent-samples t-test. The results showed that the experimental class's average score increased from 52.75 to 86.05, while the control class's average score increased from 62.19 to 76.94. The hypothesis test shows a significance value of 0.000 and 0.001, as well as the independent-samples t-test post hoc test with a significance value of 0.000, indicating a significant effect of the Game-Based Learning model on students' science learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program is a government policy aimed at improving students' nutritional needs, health, and learning readiness. However, implementing this program still requires support from schools, especially teachers, as they play a direct role in assisting students in the school environment. This study aims to determine elementary school teachers' perceptions of the 2025 Free Nutritious Meal Program at SD Swasta Masehi Berastagi. This study used a descriptive, quantitative approach with a purposive sample of 25 teachers. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, and score categories. The results showed that teachers' perceptions were in the very positive category. In the cognitive aspect, the majority of teachers understood the program's goals and benefits, with 68.10% agreeing and 14.29% strongly agreeing. In the affective aspect, teachers showed an attitude of acceptance and support for the program, with 68.78% agreeing and 20.11% strongly agreeing. Regarding psychomotor aspects, teachers were ready to act, with 71.98% agreeing and 17.67% strongly agreeing. In conclusion, the Free Nutritious Meal Program was well-received by teachers and has the potential to be implemented in schools. However, further outreach, technical strengthening, and supporting facilities are still needed.

Dengan demikian, kegiatan bermain di lingkungan terbuka terbukti memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kebugaran jasmani anak usia dini Kecamatan Simpang Empat, Karo   Abstract: This study aimed to examine the effect of outdoor play activities on the physical fitness of early childhood children in Simpang Empat District, Karo Regency, Indonesia. An experimental approach employing a one-group pretest–posttest design was adopted. The study involved all 26 children enrolled in the selected early childhood education center using a census sampling technique, with all participants meeting the predetermined inclusion criteria. Physical fitness was assessed using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia/TKJI) for six-year-old children. The findings revealed a significant improvement in children's physical fitness following an eight-week outdoor play intervention. The mean pretest score increased from 12.47 to 16.83 in the posttest, with the calculated t-value (8.42) exceeding the critical t-value (2.060) at the 0.05 significance level.
