Abstract

Corn is an agricultural commodity being developed in Simpang Village, Bantarkalong District, Tasikmalaya Regency. However, the participation of the Waluya III Farmers Group in corn cultivation is still below standard, mainly due to obstacles in obtaining fertilizer as needed. This study aims to analyze the influence of agricultural extension workers on farmer participation in the implementation of the No-Tillage System (TOT). The method used is a survey with a quantitative descriptive approach through observation and distribution of questionnaires to farmer group members. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS through partial tests (t-test) and simultaneous tests (F-test) at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that all roles of extension workers, including facilitator, innovator, motivator, dynamicator, educator, and communicator, have a positive and significant effect on farmer participation. The significance value of the t-test and F-test of 0.000 <0.05 proves that the role of extension workers plays an important role in increasing farmer participation in the implementation of the TOT system.

Abstract

Talas Pratama (Colocasia esculenta) is one of the promising local food crops that has recently gained popularity due to its high productivity, reaching 7–8 kg of tubers per plant at eight months of age. Alongside tuber production, this crop generates substantial agricultural waste in the form of petioles, stems, and leaves. At present, these by-products are commonly used as vegetables or as supplementary feed for fish. However, to enhance their economic value, such biomass needs to be processed into fish feed in the form of pellets, thereby creating added value that can potentially increase farmers’ income. The specific objectives of this study are to determine the value addition obtained from processing Talas Pratama waste into fish pellets and to calculate the profitability for small-scale entrepreneurs. In the long term, this research contributes to the development of an agribusiness model for local food commodities in line with the researcher’s established roadmap. The study employed a case study approach with a Talas Pratama farmer in Gunajaya Village, Manonjaya District, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java. Both primary and secondary data were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics and value-added analysis based on the Hayami method. The results of the study showed that processing Pratama Taro waste into fish pellets had an added value of Rp6.400,00/kg. and the profit obtained by entrepreneurs was Rp2.400,00/kg.

Abstract

Perubahan iklim berdampak besar pada budidaya padi organik yang bergantung pada kondisi lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui karakteristik petani padi organik di Kecamatan Pagerageung, (2) mengetahui persepsi petani terhadap perubahan iklim, (3) mengetahui bentuk adaptasi petani terhadap perubahan iklim, dan (4) menganalisis hubungan antara karakteristik dan persepsi petani dengan kemampuan adaptasi. Penelitian dilakukan secara survei kuantitatif dengan teknik sensus pada 44 petani menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) karakteristik petani tergolong sedang (skor 534/880), (2) persepsi petani tinggi (skor 1.686/2.112), (3) adaptasi tergolong sedang (skor 1.548/2.112) dengan adaptasi ekonomi tertinggi, serta (4) terdapat hubungan signifikan antara karakteristik (ρ = 0,504; p = 0,000) dan persepsi (ρ = 0,431; p = 0,000) dengan adaptasi terhadap perubahan iklim. Secara simultan, uji Kendall’s W (0,506; p = 0,000) menunjukkan hubungan signifikan antara karakteristik dan persepsi petani dengan kemampuan adaptasi perubahan iklim.
