Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus patients are predicted to reach 592 million in 2035 (Indonesia to grow from 9.1 million in 2014 to 14.1 million in 2035). Traditional plants and spices are easily found within society, some of which are used to control blood sugar level, eg. cinnamon. Cinnamon was known for its effectiveness in controlling blood sugar level, both on healthy and people with Diabetes Mellitus. So that blood sugar level reduction effect using cinnamon is worth to consider as a medication for Diabetes Mellitus. The goal of this research is to learn if there will be a reduction in blood sugar level with cinnamon consumption in a short period. Design that is used in this research is quasi experimental study. Respondents are given a brew of 6 gr cinnamon powder and 100 ml of hot water. Blood sugar levels are measured before and after the given cinnamon brew. 52 respondents participated in this research. Statistical analysis used is the Wilcoxon test. Blood sugar level median before given cinnamon brew is 142,71±66,11 mg/dL, while 2 hours after given cinnamon brew, blood sugar level reduced to 113,97±54,95 mg/dL. There is a reduction in blood sugar level by 28,74 mg/dL (20,14%). Wilcoxon test result indicated that there is a significant correlation with p-value = 0,0001. It is concluded that consuming 6 gram of cinnamon powder could reduce blood sugar level after 2 hours of consumption. Keywords: blood sugar; cinnamon; diabetes melitusABSTRAKDiperkirakan penderita diabetes melitus akan meningkat mencapai 592 juta orang pada tahun 2035. Indonesia diperkirakan dari 9,1 juta pada tahun 2014 akan menjadi 14,1 juta pada tahun 2035. Tanaman tradisional dan rempah-rempah mudah dijumpai di dalam masyarakat dan dapat dijadikan obat, beberapa diantaranya digunakan untuk mengontrol kadar gula darah, salah satunya adalah kayu manis. Kayu manis diketahui memiliki efektivitas dalam mengontrol gula darah, baik pada orang sehat maupun pada orang dengan diabetes melitus. Sehingga efek penurunan kadar gula darah dengan kayu manis patut dipertimbangkan sebagai pengobatan diabetes melitus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui apakah terjadi penurunan kadar gula darah sewaktu dengan Pemberian kayu manis dalam waktu yang cukup singkat. Desain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah studi kuasi eksperimental. Responden diberikan seduhan serbuk kayu manis sebanyak 6 gram dalam air panas sebanyak 100 ml. Kadar gula darah sewaktu diukur sebelum dan setelah Pemberian seduhan kayu manis. Sebanyak 52 responden berpartispasi dalam penelitian ini. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji Wilcoxon. Rerata nilai gula darah sewaktu sebelum diberikan kayu manis adalah 142,71±66,11 mg/dL. Sedangkan rerata nilai gula darah sewaktu setelah 2 jam adalah sebesar 113,97±54,95 mg/dL. Terdapat penurunan nilai kadar gula darah sewaktu sebanyak 28,74 mg/dL (20,14%).  Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan dengan p-value = 0,0001. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kayu manis dengan dosis 6 gram dapat menurunkan nilai kadar gula darah sewaktu setelah 2 jam pemberian.

Abstract

Aktivitas fisik secara teratur berdampak positif pada kesehatan terutama penderita diabetes melitus. Rendahnya tingkat aktvitas fisik di kelurahan Tomang Jakarta Barat serta pembatasan kegiatan selama pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan peningkatan sedentary behaviour dan tidak rutin berolahraga menyebabkan kadar gula darah tidak terkendali sehingga rentan untuk terjadinya komplikasi dan merupakan faktor komorbid pada infeksi Covid-19. Kelurahan Tomang merupakan daerah binaan FK UNTAR sehingga perlu upaya pemberdayaan terhadap pasien diabetes melitus serta keluarga untuk meningkatkan kesadaran melakukan olahraga dan aktifitas fisik. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta edukasi kesehatan pentingnya aktivitas fisik dalam kehidupan sehari-hari terutama bagi penderita diabetes melitus dan masyarakat Tomang yang beresiko terkena diabetes melitus. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian edukasi kesehatan Aktivitas fisik terkait diabetes melitus yang bertema “Bugar dan Aktif dengan gula darah terkontrol” dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu tanggal 26 Maret 2022 pukul 08.00-10.00, dilakukan secara daring via Zoom dan jumlah peserta yang mengikuti acara edukasi kesehatan sejumlah 34 peserta berlangsung dengan baik serta peserta mengikuti rangkaian acara hingga selesai. Nilai rata-rata pretest peserta edukasi adalah 76,51 dan nilai rata-rata pos test didapatkan hasil sebesar 91,66. Berdasarkan hasil pretest dan pos test pada kegiatan edukasi ini dapat dilihat terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta edukasi terkait aktivitas fisik dan olahraga dalam diabetes melitus sebesar 16,52%. Kegiatan ini dapat dilakukan kembali sebagai follow up dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini dengan melakukan skrining aktivitas fisik serta bekerjasama dengan kader untuk membina warganya untuk rutin berolahraga dalam pengelolaan diabetes melitus serta senam kaki.

Abstract

Hipertensi masih merupakan masalah yang cukup besar di Indonesia, sebesar 25.8% penduduk usia ?18 tahun menderita hipertensi. Perlahan mulai terjadi pergeseran ke usia yang lebih muda (18-45 tahun) pada penderita hipertensi. Namun, penelitian tentang hipertensi pada usia dewasa muda masih jarang. Sehingga peneliti ingin mengetahui berapa besar prevalensi hipertensi pada usia muda di Indonesia serta karakteristiknya. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptive, yang mengambil data dari Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) 5. Sampel yang diambil adalah penduduk usia 18-45 tahun yang memiliki data yang lengkap pada variabel yang ingin diteliti, yaitu: tekanan darah, usia, jenis kelamin, imt, merokok dan aktifitas fisik. Sehingga didapatkan total sampel sebesar 10.310 responden. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan prevalensi hipertensi pada usia dewasa muda adalah sebesar 13.59%. Dengan pembagian kelompok usia, pada kelompok usia 18-24 tahun (7.35%), 25-34 tahun (10.41%), 35-44 tahun (21.35%). Sehingga nampak jelas bahwa seiring dengan bertambahnya usia, risiko hipertensi akan meningkat sehingga pada kelompok usia 35-44 tahun memiliki risiko 2.91 kali terkena hipertensi dibandingkan kelompok usia 18-24 tahun PR: 2.91, 95% CI (2.48-3.40). Sedangkan berdasarkan jenis kelamin penderita hipertensi pada laki-laki (14.79%) dan perempuan (12.51%). Laki-laki memiliki risiko 1.18 kali lebih sering terkena hipertensi dibandingkan perempuan PR:1.18, 95% CI (1.07-1.30). Hipertensi pada usia muda tidak dapat dipandang sebelah mata karena prevalensinya yang terus meningkat, sehingga perlu dilakukan tindakan pencegahan sejak dini.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) first reported in Wuhan, China On December 31, 2019. In January 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global health emergency. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia until September 21, 2021, amounted to 4 million cases, with death rate of 140 thousand people. This study determine the correlation between the use of PPE with COVID-19 infection in midwives. Analytical research with a cross-sectional design. subjects of this study are midwives who actively treated patients and is an active members of Tigaraksa IBI branch who met inclusion and exclusion criteria totaling 153 respondents, data were collected on March 4, 2022. Average age of respondents was 29 years old. 69 respondents (45.1%) have an education level of D3 and 84 respondents (54.9%) have an education level of S1. The average work experience of each respondent is 6 years, the longest work experience is 32 years and the most recent is 1 year. majority of midwives implemented PPE. 129 out of all respondents (84.3%) implemented PPE and only 24 respondents (15.7%) did not. There were 99 respondents (64.7%) infected with COVID-19 and 54 respondents (35.3%) who were not infected. There were 13 respondents (54.2%) who did not use PPE and were not infected with COVID – 19 and 11 respondents (45.8%) who did not use PPE and were infected with COVID-19. 41 respondents (31.8%) use PPE and are not infected with COVID-19, and there were 88 respondents (68.2%) who use PPE and are infected with COVID-19. The relationship between the use of PPE with COVID-19 infection obtained a significant value of 0.061, there no relationship between the implementation of PPE and COVID-19 infection in midwives at the IBI Branch Tigaraksa secretariat

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), which first appeared in Wuhan, China and was reported in December 2019. In early October 2021, it was reported According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are approximately 233 million people in the world who have confirmed COVID-19, while the number of patients who died has been recorded at approximately 4 million people. This study was to describe the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of the importance of PPE for health workers in hospitals. This research is a descriptive cross-sectional design. In this study, all health workers at Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 169 respondents. In the study, the average age of respondents was 35 years, 135 respondents (79.9%) were women and 34 respondents (20.1%) were men. The average length of work of respondents is 10 years, the longest working respondent is 30 years and the new one is 1 year. The majority who worked in the inpatient room were 109 respondents (64.5%), outpatient room 31 respondents (18%), intensive care room 8 respondents (4.7%), emergency room 21 respondents (12.4%). The picture of the majority of good knowledge on the importance of PPE 168 respondents (99.4%), less good one respondent (0.6%), good attitude towards the importance of PPE 167 respondents (98.8%), bad attitude 2 respondents (1,2 %), good behavior on the importance of PPE 167 respondents (98.8%), bad behavior 2 respondents (1.2%). Abstract

Community diagnosis can be used to determine problems in the community, including analyzing the situation, identifying, prioritizing, and solving the problem. According to WHO, in 2017, 50% of child and infant mortality was caused by malnutrition. More than two-thirds of all children have malnutrition, especially severely wasting in Asia. Indonesia is the second country with the highest severe wasting rate in toddlers (2017 - 2021). Riskesdas 2018 shows that 3,5% of toddlers in Indonesia are severely wasted. The prevalence of wasted toddlers in Tangerang Regency 2021 is the highest compared to other districts in Banten. Data from the Cikupa Health Center showed an increase in new cases of severe wasting in toddlers between 2021 and January-June 2022. This research aims to recognize the location with the highest new case of severe wasting in toddlers that must be intervened immediately, the problems, interventions, and its results. Method community diagnosis has been used to overcome health issues in Cikupa Public Health Center. After the intervention, it showed 26 mothers with toddlers obtained a post-test score of> 80, 2 mothers with toddlers could mention a nutritious and varied food menu in one day for toddlers, and it was also found that eight toddlers with severe wasting. Talaga is the main location for the increase in new cases of severe wasting in toddlers caused by lifestyle. Interventions, such as counseling, demonstrations, and screenings, are expected to reduce new cases of severe wasting in toddlers at Cikupa Public Health Center

Abstract

One of the direct causes of maternal mortality is anemia in pregnant women. In 2020, 36.5% of pregnant women suffered from anemia, and a 50% reduction is targeted for anemia in women of reproductive age in 2025. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Tangerang Regency in 2020 was 9,652 people. In the working area of the Cikupa Public Health Center, there was an increase in the rate of anemia in pregnant women. One of the cases is when Mrs. SH's increased Hb level becomes > 11 mg/dL and knowing the risk of anemia. Mrs. SH, 32 years old, came to the Cikupa Health Center G3P2A0 with a gestational age of 23 weeks. Laboratory results of hemoglobin 9.9 g/dL and blood group AB+. The patient had an anemic pregnancy for the first time and was a high-risk pregnancy due to a history of cesarean section, obesity, and the possibility of a transverse fetus. After the intervention, the patient's Hb level increased to 11.3 g/dL, the cause of anemia in Ny. SH is the patient's nutritional intake that did not vary, and she is lazy to control her pregnancy. The risk factors for Mrs. SH experienced anemia due to a lack of nutritious food intake, especially foods containing much iron, and not routine pregnancy control due to lack of attention in the third pregnancy. After the intervention, Mrs. SH increased to 11.3 g/dL.

Abstract

Underweight is a body mass index less than 18.5 kg/m2. The prevalence of underweight in Southeast Asia from 1969 to 2017 was around 20%. The percentage of underweight in Indonesia reached 5% whilst in Banten Province in 2017 was 5.4%. Around 18,45% patients and 32,19% of patients with tuberculosis at Cikupa Health Care were underweight from January to September 2022. Mrs SH is an underweight patient with pulmonary tuberculosis. Her weight has not shown any improvement despite almost completing the intensive phase treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. Improvement in nutritional status and monitor the pulmonary tuberculosis therapy in Mrs SH. Mrs SH, 24 years old, came to Cikupa Health Center to control her pulmonary tuberculosis treatment. The patient known to have nutritional problems since her childhood. Her weight has not shown any improvement despite almost completing the intensive phase of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment. After a family medicine approach for 5 weeks, the patient's weight has increased from 34.7 to 37.1 kg. The patient has also been notified for regular treatment and promised to follow pulmonary tuberculosis treatment until it is complete. The family medicine approach has been able to increase the patient's weight even though the target weight has not been achieved. The patient also promised to follow pulmonary tuberculosis treatment until it is complete. It is hoped that by following all the interventions given, the patient's body weight can reach the ideal weight and be declared complete of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension often called a “silent killer” because it may have no symptoms. The number of hypertensions in the world has increased in 2021 and in Indonesia reaches 34.1% in 2018. New cases of hypertension at the Cikupa Health Center increased in September 2022. Due to the extensive Cikupa Health Center`s work area, the village with the highest hypertension cases must be determined. Objective: Knowing the village with the main problem of hypertension in Cikupa Health Center’s work area, find the causes, do interventions and following with the results. Methods: The activities are carried out using a community diagnosis approach. A situation analysis was conducted to determine the problem. Problem identification was carried out using Blum's Paradigm. Priority problems with Delphi non-scoring technique. Fishbone diagram to determine the root cause of the problem. Interventions plan using log frame goal. Interventions were carried out through counselling, performing hypertension screening, and demonstration of hypertension exercise. Results: Bitung Jaya village has the highest increased new cases of hypertension due to the lack of knowledge, attitude and behaviour related to hypertension. The intervention’s results showed an increase in knowledge, which 80% participants understand hypertension more, 80% participants got hypertension through screening, and they could perform hypertension exercise correctly. Conclusion: After an approach with the diagnosis community, Bitung Jaya village was the main village with the problem of hypertension, the cause was found, and intervention was carried out, so we hoped that the incidence of hypertension in the Cikupa Community Health Center would decrease. Keywords: Hypertention, Community Diagnosis, Blum Paradigm, Fishbone Diagram  ABSTRAK Hipertensi disebut “silent killer” karena penyakit ini sering tidak bergejala. Jumlah orang dewasa yang menderita hipertensi di dunia meningkat dari 650 juta pada tahun 2018 menjadi 1,28 miliar pada tahun 2021. Prevalensi hipertensi di Indonesia tahun 2018 mencapai hingga 34,1%. Jumlah kasus baru hipertensi di Puskesmas Cikupa meningkat pada September 2022. Akibat luasnya wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cikupa, maka harus ditentukan desa yang memiliki masalah utama hipertensi. Tujuan: Diketahuinya desa yang memiliki masalah utama hipertensi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cikupa, penyebab, dan intervensi yang dapat dilakukan beserta hasilnya. Metode: Kegiatan dilakukan dengan pendekatan diagnosis komunitas. Dilakukan analisis situasi untuk menentukan masalah. Identifikasi masalah menggunakan Paradigma Blum. Prioritas masalah dengan metode non-scoring technique Delphi. Diagram fishbone untuk menentukan akar penyebab masalah. Rencana intervensi dengan log frame goal. Intervensi dilakukan melalui penyuluhan mengenai hipertensi, skrining hipertensi dan demonstrasi senam anti hipertensi. Hasil: Desa Bitung Jaya memiliki peningkatan kasus baru hipertensi terbanyak di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cikupa. Hal ini berkaitan dengan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku terkait hipertensi yang masih kurang. Setelah dilakukan intervensi berupa penyuluhan, skrining, dan senam anti hipertensi, didapatkan 80% masyarakat sudah cukup memahami mengenai hipertensi, terdapat 80% masyarakat yang menderita hipertensi, dan masyarakat sudah dapat melakukan senam anti hipertensi dengan baik secara mandiri. Kesimpulan: Setelah dilakukan pendeketan dengan diagnosis komunitas, maka didapatkan desa Bitung Jaya sebagai desa dengan masalah utama hipertensi, dan telah diketahui penyebab serta dilakukan intervensi, sehingga diharapkan kasus kejadian hipertensi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cikupa akan menurun. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, Diagnosis Komunitas, Paradigma Blum, Diagram Fishbone

Abstract

Perilaku  hidup  bersih  dan  sehat  (PHBS) dapat diterapkan dalam  kehidupan  sehari-hari  baik  dirumah,  kampus maupun  fasilitas  umum.  Perilaku  hidup  bersih  dan  sehat  dapat  dilakukan  dalam  setiap  sisi kehidupan  kapan  saja  dan  dimana  saja. Cuci  tangan (handwashing)  merupakan  bagian  dari  salah  satu  perilaku  hidup  bersih  dan  sehat  (PHBS)  yang  berguna  untuk  sanitasi tangan  dengan  membersihkan  tangan  dan  jari  jemari  menggunakan  air  untuk  menjadi  bersih  dan  memutus  rantai  kuman.  Studi ini ialah studi deskriptif dengan desain cross-sectional yang dilakukan pada mahasiswa Kedokteran Universitas Tarumanagara. Studi ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku mencuci tangan pakai sabun.  Partisipan  studi  berjumlah  103  partisipan.  Data  gambaran  pengetahuan,  sikap,  dan  perilaku  yang  diperoleh  melalui  kuisioner. Hasil studi didapatkan tingkat pengetahuan yang baik tentang cuci tangan pakai sabun sebanyak 60 (52,2%) partisipan, sikap positif terhadap tentang cuci tangan pakai sabun 112 partisipan (97,4%), dan berperilaku baik terhadap tentang cuci tangan pakai sabun hanya 20 partisipan (17,4%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan yang baik dan sikap yang positif belum tentu mencerminkan perilaku yang baik dalam mencuci tangan pakai sabun pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Tarumanagara.
