Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the significant influence between learning models on metacognitive abilities, (2) significant effects between learning models on mathematical connections,(3) the interaction betweendiscovery learningandproblem based learningon metacognitive abilities, (4) the interaction betweendiscovery learningandproblem based learningmodelson students' mathematical connections.This research is aquasi experimentalresearch.The instruments used were: (1) tests of students 'initial mathematical abilities (2) tests of metacognitive abilities, (3) tests of students' mathematical connections with the subject of Lines and Angles.Inferential data were performed using covariance analysis (MANOVA).Theresult of hypothesis testingshows thatthe average metacognitive ability in learning usingdiscovery learninglearning modelsis 77.20 75 with a standard deviation of 2.161 and students' mathematical connections obtained are 83.63 45 with a standard deviation of 3.480.Byusing theproblem base learningmodelis 76.76 75 with a standard deviation of 2.216 and for the average mathematical connection of the students obtained 81.8445with a standard deviation of 2.096.The data show thatthe metacognitive abilities and mathematical connections of students who are taught usingdiscoverylearning modelsare better thanthose who are taught usingproblem-based learningmodels

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether 1) solving mathematical problems between students who take learning with an open-ended learning approach and students who take learning without an open-ended learning approach; 2) the influence of mathematical ability among students who have learning independence high, medium and low; 3) whether the Open-Ended learning approaches and student learning independence there was an interaction of the students' mathematical problem solving ability. This research was Quasi Experimental design The Non-equivalent Post-test Only Control Group Design. This study population throughout the first semester of seventh grade students of MTs Negeri 1 Bandar Rice academic year 2018/2019. A research technique used is purposive sampling with a sample class as a class VII-1 and VII-2 experiment as a control group. The research instrument used was a test description to measure students 'mathematical problem solving and a questionnaire to measure students' learning independence. Analysis of the data in this study is a two-way ANOVA. The results of data analysis 1) there is a mathematical problem solving among students who take the learning with the Open-Ended learning approach with students who take the lesson without learning approach Open-Ended; 2) there is an influence on the ability of mathematical problems between students who have high, medium and low learning independence; 3) there is no interaction between the Open-Ended learning approach and students 'learning independence on students' mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract

The proposed partnership program is intended to solve two partner problems (SMP Muhammadiyah 01 Medan), namely: (1) lack of partner teacher skills in the design and implementation of online teaching where the learning structure is dominated by assignments, unavailability of scaffolding, and only a small part of the time. Meetings are used for explanations, and (2) teachers do not understand how to choose an appropriate learning model for the topic being taught. In the context of online learning, such difficulties will increase. The solutions offered to overcome the first problem are training in a web-based interactive scaffolding development workshop using Articulate Storyline 3 software, an online class development workshop using Google Classroom, and an online teaching design workshop including learning tools. The solution offered to overcome the second problem is assistance in applying web-based interactive scaffolding in the CTL model. The program implementation method refers to the Learn-Teach-Evaluate-Acknowledge method proposed by Buckenmeyer et al. (2013), which has been modified and agreed upon by the Proposing Team and partners to resolve specific problems faced by partners. The modifications made are: (1) Adding a Fostering phase (coaching) for the sustainability of activities; and (2) the adjustment of each phase to the principles of adult learning, as proposed by Alamdari et al. (2017), which focuses on experiential learning and self-motivation to encourage participants and instructors to participate actively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan aplikasi classroom dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring  dapat meningkatkan keatifan siswa SMP negeri 1 Siempatnempu  dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dengan keterbatasan jaringan. Dimana wilayah tempat tinggal siswa SMP negeri 1 Siempatnempu  masih sulit untuk mendapatkan jaringan, hanya ada di beberapa tempat saja. Penelitian ini saya lakukan sebagai salah satu tugas dalam mengikuti LATSAR CPNS Tahun 2019. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 9 ( sembilan ) yang berjumlah yang berjumlah 60 orang yaitu terdiri dari dua kelas. Dimana dari yang 60 orang siswa ini sudah mewakili semua wilayah tempat tinggal siswa SMP negeri 1 Siempatnempu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melaksanakan pembelajaran di dalam dua kelas tersebut dengan menggunakan Aplikasi google classroom. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut adalah stelah melakukan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Aplikasi google classroom dari 60 orang siswa semuanya mengerjakan dan mengirimkan tugas – tugas yang diberikan oleh guru. Dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran yang sebelumnya dengan menggunakan whatsapp hanya sekitar 20 % siswa yang merespon. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan dengan menggunakan Aplikasi google classroom dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran daring yang sulit menjangkau jaringan internet.

Abstract

Masalah yang terdapat  adalah  hasil belajar siswa tergolong kurang baik, siswa kurang aktif saat kegiatan belajarmengajar berlangsung. Tujuan riset ialah: (1) Melihat hasil belajar siswa SMP dengan model penemuan terbimbing. (2) Melihat hasil belajar matematika berpengaruh pada peserta didik melalui model penemuan terbimbing. Quasy Eksperiment merupakan jenis penelitian, dengan metode kuantitatif. Tes adalah alat pengumpul data. Kesimpulan setelah data dianalisisialah hasil belajar matematika berpengaruh pada siswa SMP melalui model penemuan terbimbing dengan menggunakan LKPD

Abstract

This study aims to examine differences in critical thinking skills between groups of students who apply Autograph-aided Creative Problem Solving learning models and students who apply Creative Problem-Solving learning models without the help of autographs and see students' positive attitudes in learning Creative Problem-Solving models. This research is experimental research at YPK Medan Private Middle School. The sample selection used as the experimental group, and the control group was carried out randomly (random cluster sampling). The instrument used was a set of tests of critical thinking skills in mathematics. The results showed that the ability to think critically in students who applied the CPS model using Autograph was better, with a percentage of mastery learning by 85.27%. In comparison, the group of students who applied the CPS model gained a percentage of mastery learning by 78.16%. There was a positive attitude of students applying the autograph-aided CPS model when learning takes place.

Abstract

The innovative design of this study was to create a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group. The population of this study includes all Class IX students at PGRI 3 Medan Private Secondary School, consisting of 116 students, and the selected sample consists of two classes. The tools used are descriptive forms of mathematical representation tested and validated. The results of these studies showed that students who received open methods were much better at expressing themselves accurately than students who received traditional methods. Show that the open-ended approach can improve students' mathematical expression, even if the results are suboptimal because students' grades are still poor. This happens because the open-ended approach allows students to solve problems in different ways and create multiple representations of the problem.

Abstract

AbstrakMengingat pentingnya kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan komunikasi matematis bagi siswa, maka diperlukan suatu cara yang  tepat untuk mengelola proses pembelajaran yang inovatif sehingga dapat dicerna dengan baik oleh peserta didik agar dapat  menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu model yang dapat digunakan adalah dengan menerapkanmodel pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) dan model pembelajaran Think-Talk-Write (TTW). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran CPS dan TTW terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi Persamaan Garis Lurus. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII SMP Swasta YPK Medan yangtersebar dalam 4 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sehingga terpilih dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII-A dan VIII-B dengan jumlah siswa 40 orang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis siswa. Sebelum uji hipotesis penelitian dilaksanakan, telah dilakukan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas dengan hasil uji prasyarat data adalah semuanya berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Selanjutnya hipotesis penelitian diuji  menggunakan analisis Anova Dua Jalur. Analisis data penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran CPS dan TTW memberikan pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata kunci: Pembelajaran berbasis masalah, Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis, Komunikasi matematis, Geogebra   AbstractConsidering the importance of critical thinking and mathematical communication skills for students, an appropriate way is needed to manage an innovative learning process so that it can be digested properly by students in order to solve problems in learning mathematics. One of the models that can be used is to apply the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) and the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model. This study aims to see the effect of the CPS and TTW learning models on students' mathematical critical thinking and mathematical communication skills on the material of Straight Line Equations. The population of this study were all students of class VIII Junior High School YPK Medan, which was spread over 4 classes. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a test instrument for students critical thinking skills and mathematical communication. Before the research hypothesis test was carried out, a prerequisite test was carried out, namely the normality test and homogeneity test, with the results of the prerequisite test data being all normally distributed and homogeneous. Furthermore, the research hypotheses were tested using two-way ANOVA analysis. The data analysis of this study showed that CPS and TTW learning had a significant positive effect on increasing students' critical thinking skills.  Keywords: Problem-based learning; Mathematical thinking skills; Mathematical communication; Geogebra

Abstract

Abstract: Supporting Critical Thinking Skills In Blended Learning Environment: A Qualitative Study In Mathematics Department, Medan State University. Supporting critical thinking skills is one of the most important goals of many educational institutions. With the rapid development of internet technology, education practitioners are trying to improve critical thinking through online learning systems. This study aims to explore the experience of lecturers and students of the Mathematics Education Study Program related to efforts in supporting critical thinking skills in the Medan State University Online Learning System. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The results of the interview were conceptualized in two main themes: learning design and management. This study clarifies factors that influence efforts in supporting critical thinking skills in blended learning settings.Keywords: Critical Thinking Skills, Blended Learning Environment, Mathematics Education.Abstrak: Mendukung Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Dalam Lingkungan Belajar Campuran: Studi Kualitatif di Departemen Matematika, Universitas Negeri Medan. Meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah salah satu tujuan terpenting dari banyak lembaga pendidikan. Dengan semakin cepatnya perkembangan teknologi internet, praktisi pendidikan berupaya untuk meningkatkan pemikiran kritis melalui sistem pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman dosen dan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika terkait upaya dalam mendukung keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam Sistem Pembelajaran Daring Universitas Negeri Medan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur. Hasil wawancara dikonseptualisasikan dalam dua tema utama: rancangan pembelajaran dan manajemen. Penelitian ini mengklarifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi upaya dalam mendukung kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pengaturan pembelajaran campuran.Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Lingkungan Pembelajaran Campuran, Pendidikan Matematika.

Abstract

Salah satu kompetensi mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) adalah kompetensi kebahasaan, artinya seluruh alumni diharapkan mampu berbahasa Inggris dibidang pekerjaan masing-masing. Di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, bahasa Inggris selalu dimasukkan sebagai salah satu mata kuliah di jurusan diluar jurusan pendidikan bahasa Inggris. Program studi pendidikan Matematika, adalah salah satu prodi di FKIP UMSU, yang mana mahasiswa semester I memperoleh mata kuliah bahasa Inggris untuk Matematika. Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk mahasiswa pendidikan Matematika adalah salah satu pembelajaran yang mempunyai tujuantujuan khusus, yakni untuk melatih mahasiswa pendidikan Matematika untuk dapat menggunakan bahasa Inggris, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan istilah-istilah Matematika. Materi tentang istilahistilah Matematika dasar (Basic Mathematics Terms) adalah salah satu topik yang harus dikuasai mahasiswa, untuk dapat menggunakan istilah matematika dasar tersebut dalam bahasa Inggris. Disini, peneliti menggunakan metode Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) untuk dapat membelajarkan mahasiswa tersebut dalam pembelajaran English for Special Purposes (ESP). Pembelajaran ini dilakukan pada Mahasiswa semester I, T.P. 2023 – 2024. Hasil penelitian pada siklus pertama dan siklus kedua menunjukan adanya peningkatan kualitas perkuliahan pada pembelajaran matematika berbahasa Inggris melaluiCooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh tumbuhnya rasa percaya diri mahasiswa dengan semakinmeningkatnya kemampuan mahasiswa berkomunikasi bahasa Inggris dalam pembelajaran matematika dan peningkatan kemampuan matematikmahasiswa melalui CIRC.
