The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Need Motives on the Spiritual Growth of congregational servants. The need motives studied include high-level needs such as being loved and loving, being appreciated and appreciating, and self-actualization, which are compared with low-level needs, namely physiological and security. Using the Slovin formula and α = 5%, the researcher determined a sample of 80 respondents from a population of 100 congregational servants. This study uses a quantitative method with regression analysis to measure the effect of the Need Motive variable (X) on Spiritual Growth (Y). The results of the analysis show a regression equation Ŷ = 91.960 + 1.357X, with a correlation coefficient of 0.567 and a determination coefficient of 0.321 at a significance level of 5%. The regression coefficient of 1.357 indicates that there is a positive influence between Need Motives and Spiritual Growth. The interpretation of these results shows that congregational servants who have met high-level needs are better able to achieve better spiritual growth. In conclusion, the need motive plays a significant role in supporting the spiritual growth of congregational servants.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the ISO 9001 quality management system at the Pentecostal Church of Cililitan, which has faced a decline in congregation numbers in recent years. Effective and systematic management of church services is crucial to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation and to have a positive impact on society. Specifically, the decline in the number of congregants is caused by issues of ineffective leadership and poor internal communication. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with church leaders, service staff, and congregation members, as well as document analysis related to the implementation of ISO 9001. A literature review was also conducted to understand how the quality management system can be applied in the context of religious organizations. The results of the study show that the implementation of ISO 9001 has made a positive contribution to the church’s organizational structure, including improvements in work procedures, enhanced internal communication, and strengthened leadership. The implementation of this system has helped create a more organized service environment, increased congregational satisfaction, and restored trust in the church leadership. However, the success of implementing this quality management system depends heavily on the commitment of the church leadership and the active involvement of all members of the organization. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the implementation of ISO 9001 can significantly contribute to the growth of the church. With consistent implementation, the church can improve service quality and experience sustainable growth in the congregation. This study recommends that the church continue to strengthen leadership and communication aspects as part of the strategy to enhance service quality.

The decline in congregation commitment to remain rooted in the local church, as reported by the Bilangan Research Centre and Pew Research Centre, represents a significant challenge for churches in maintaining member engagement. Spiritual dissatisfaction is a key factor driving members to other churches. Church leaders play a crucial role in creating an environment that fosters commitment. Leadership marked by care and compassion strengthens the relationship between leaders and congregants, encouraging commitment through the example of Jesus as described in John 10:4. This study aims to examine the influence of shepherd leadership based on John 10:4 and organizational involvement on fostering organizational commitment in the local church, specifically at Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Light of The City. The research method involves a survey using a Likert scale, measuring organizational commitment with Allen and Meyer’s instrument, and organizational engagement using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). The results show that shepherd leadership based on the principles in John 10:4 and the level of congregational engagement play a role in building organizational commitment within the local church. Shepherd leadership, when applied contextually and relationally, can strengthen the congregation’s commitment to the church. However, the influence of shepherd leadership on organizational commitment is not direct, but is mediated by the level of organizational engagement among the congregants.

This study aims to examine the role of church shepherding in enhancing nationalism among young adult Chinese Indonesians. The background of this research stems from the persistent sense of apathy and alienation from national identity experienced by some in the younger Chinese Indonesian generation, largely due to a historical legacy of marginalization. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing various scholarly sources relevant to the themes of pastoral care, ethnic identity, and nationalism within the context of the church and Indonesian society. The findings indicate that contextual, narrative, and restorative shepherding practices are effective in fostering national awareness through faith-based teaching integrated with Pancasila values, cross-cultural engagement, and the healing of collective memory. The discussion reveals that pastoral strategies addressing both social and spiritual identity holistically can cultivate a sense of national belonging without erasing ethnic heritage. The church holds great potential as a transformative social agent, empowering young adult Chinese Indonesians to become nationalistic, faithful, and actively engaged citizens. Thus, church shepherding plays a significant role in addressing the challenges of ethnic integration and in shaping nationalism in Indonesia.

In recent decades, Christianity has been shaken by reports of moral failures among spiritual leaders. News of corruption, fraud, power struggles, and other scandals have flooded the media. However, the most shocking are the cases involving sexual misconduct by spiritual leaders. Churches and congregations have become victims of these leaders’ moral failures, resulting in shame, stress, depression, and even suicide among church members. Arising from this critical issue, the purpose of this study is to explore the theological insights of Galatians 5:16 and identify the solutions it offers. This research employs a library-based method, supported by interviews with two spiritual leaders and a hermeneutical analysis of Galatians 5:16. The findings reveal that walking by the Holy Spirit forms the foundation for ethical behavior among believers, especially spiritual leaders. Such ethical conduct can be actualized through consistent spiritual disciplines, which lead to four practical solutions for preventing moral failure.

This study was motivated by the low scores on midterm and final exams in the Citylight GBI Rayon 8 youth worship programme, where some children scored below the minimum standard of 70. This raised questions about the effectiveness of the methods used to teach the Word of God, particularly the use of PowerPoint teaching media and the level of creativity of Sunday School teachers/facilitators in delivering the material. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the use of PowerPoint teaching media and facilitator creativity with children's understanding of the Word of God, as measured by mid-term and final exam scores. This study employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Data was collected through a 15-item questionnaire using a Likert scale distributed to 64 respondents, who were a sample of the total 175 children. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software to test validity, significance, and correlations between variables. The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between facilitator creativity in using PowerPoint teaching media and improved children's absorption of the Word of God. Children who participated in worship using engaging and creative teaching media tended to have better understanding and achieved scores above 70. The conclusion of this study emphasises the importance of creative facilitators in supporting the effectiveness of learning God's Word, as well as the need for collaboration between the church and parents in strengthening children's understanding outside the context of Sunday worship.

The environmental crisis has emerged as an urgent global challenge requiring a holistic response from various institutions, including the church. This qualitative study, employing a desk research approach, seeks to analyze the role of pastoral care in internalizing ecotheological values within congregational life. The findings reveal a significant gap between theological awareness and the daily environmental practices of congregants. The study identifies three principal forms of ecology-based pastoral care: liturgical and homiletic transformation, contextual education and catechesis, and community accompaniment and action. The internalization of ecotheological values unfolds through cognitive, affective, and conative stages and is shaped by supporting factors such as a strong theological foundation and visionary pastoral leadership, as well as inhibiting factors including theological anthropocentrism and routine-driven church practices. The study concludes that integrated and contextual pastoral care holds substantial potential to bridge the gap between faith and ecological practice, thereby enabling the church to contribute meaningfully to addressing the environmental crisis. Furthermore, the implications of this research highlight the need to reorient theological education curricula and to develop more practical and transformative models of pastoral care.
