Abstract

The GOBIS application, developed by the Surabaya City Transportation Department, is a digital service designed to provide public transportation information and reduce traffic congestion. Despite having exceeded 100,000 downloads, the application has received numerous complaints from users, as reflected in the multilingual reviews on its platform. To ensure analytical consistency, this research focuses solely on reviews in Indonesian and English. Using Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA), this study employs Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for aspect identification and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for sentiment classification. The aim of this research is to determine the dominant aspects in user feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of the Support Vector Machine (SVM) model in classifying multilingual reviews. The research results show six main aspects that frequently appear in reviews, namely Application Features and Development, User Suggestions and Service Innovation, Error and Location Accuracy, Delay and Application Usability, Comfort and Service Quality, as well as Route Tracking and Vehicle Information. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) model, tested with 10-fold cross-validation, demonstrates consistent performance, achieving balanced metrics accuracy (74.16%), precision (73.76%), recall (73.54%), and F1-score (73.63%). This highlights its capability in handling multilingual sentiment analysis for application improvement.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi informasi sangat penting bagi operasional rumah sakit, namun memiliki risiko yang mengancam kelangsungan bisnis jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Penelitian ini menilai risiko keamanan informasi di RSUD XYZ dengan menggunakan kerangka kerja OCTAVE Allegro, dengan fokus pada aset informasi penting seperti data pasien dan rekam medis elektronik (EMR). Analisis menyoroti integritas sebagai kebutuhan keamanan utama untuk aset-aset ini. Temuan utama mengungkapkan bahwa kepercayaan dan reputasi pelanggan merupakan area yang paling kritis dalam penilaian risiko, dengan strategi mitigasi yang disesuaikan berdasarkan tingkat risiko. Ancaman berisiko tinggi membutuhkan mitigasi segera, ancaman berisiko sedang membutuhkan tindakan terencana, dan ancaman berisiko rendah dikelola melalui pemantauan berkala. Strategi mitigasi yang diusulkan meliputi otentikasi dua faktor, enkripsi data, dan pelatihan keamanan karyawan. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang manajemen risiko aset informasi dan menawarkan solusi praktis untuk meningkatkan keamanan dan efisiensi operasional RSUD XYZ.

Abstract

Industri skincare mengalami pertumbuhan signifikan seiring meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kesehatan kulit. Namun, isu over-claim produk dan kurangnya transparansi informasi menimbulkan keraguan konsumen dalam memilih produk yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem rekomendasi produk skincare berbasis Android dengan menerapkan metode Hybrid Collaborative Filtering yang menggabungkan Content-Based Filtering dan Item-Based Collaborative Filtering melalui pendekatan switching. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, dan Firebase sebagai backend. Proses pengembangan mengikuti metodologi SCRUM dan melibatkan 100 produk skincare dengan data rating serta atribut pengguna yang dikumpulkan melalui scraping dan kuisioner. Pengujian dilakukan dengan evaluasi Mean Absolute Error (MAE) dan Precision, serta Blackbox Testing untuk pengujian fungsional. Hasil menunjukkan metode hybrid ini mampu menghasilkan rekomendasi yang relevan, mengatasi masalah cold-start bagi pengguna baru, dan meningkatkan akurasi rekomendasi seiring bertambahnya data pengguna. Sistem ini mencatat nilai precision sebesar 0,80 untuk metode content-based dan 0,88 untuk collaborative filtering, serta penurunan MAE dari 0,624 menjadi 0,532 dengan peningkatan jumlah user. Temuan ini memperlihatkan bahwa integrasi metode switching hybrid dalam aplikasi mobile dapat menjadi solusi efektif dalam memberikan rekomendasi personal di tengah tantangan pasar skincare digital yang dinamis.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based e-commerce information system for creative services at Cahaya Kreativ using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, addressing the company's lack of an integrated digital platform for managing service orders, portfolios, consultations, and online payments. The RAD method was chosen due to its emphasis on speed, prototyping, and close user collaboration—making it more suitable than traditional methods like Waterfall for projects requiring rapid development and ongoing user input in a dynamic service environment. The system was built using React.js for the frontend, Express.js for the backend, PostgreSQL as the database, Tailwind CSS for UI design, and Midtrans integration as a payment gateway. The development process included two iterations covering requirement analysis, system design (use case diagram, sequence diagram, class diagram, ERD), implementation, and testing through Blackbox Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Results indicate that the system operates according to specifications and has received positive user feedback. It is expected to enhance Cahaya Kreativ’s operational efficiency, expand market reach, and improve the digital experience for customers ordering creative services online, while also supporting streamlined business processes, data consistency, and increased user engagement through responsive and interactive features. Stakeholder involvement throughout the development ensured the system closely matched real business requirements, resulting in a comprehensive digital solution that enhances customer satisfaction and operational performance through technology-driven innovation.

Abstract

The process of submitting travel authorization letters at SMKN 6 Surabaya was previously carried out manually, leading to issues such as writing errors, miscalculations, and the lack of a digital archiving system. These problems highlighted the necessity for a digital solution to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the process. This study aims to design and develop a web-based travel authorization system using the Extreme Programming (XP) software development method. The XP methodology emphasizes close collaboration with users and rapid iterations throughout the development process. The system was designed with multi-role features, online approval, and digital archiving, enabling a full replacement of the manual process. Testing was conducted using Black-box Testing to verify that the system's functionality worked as expected. Additionally, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) was carried out to assess the design, usability, and efficiency from the user's perspective. The results from the UAT showed an average user satisfaction level of over 80%, indicating that the system was well-received by the users. This indicates that the system is effective in supporting the administrative process for travel authorization at SMKN 6 Surabaya. The implementation of this system is expected to enhance administrative efficiency, reduce human error, and streamline the management and digital archiving of travel documents. Furthermore, by automating the process, the system reduces the time and effort required for manual processing, ultimately improving the overall workflow within the institution.

Abstract

Many deaf people in Indonesia use sign language as their communication medium, one of which is BISINDO (Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia). However, limited understanding of BISINDO among the general public often becomes a significant barrier to effective communication. To address this, the study aims to develop a BISINDO hand gesture detection system based on computer vision using the YOLOv8 algorithm. The method used is a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with the YOLOv8 architecture, trained on a labeled dataset obtained from the Roboflow platform consisting of BISINDO alphabet gestures (A–Z). The system was developed using Python and Streamlit, providing two types of user input: real-time camera feed and manual image upload. Detected gestures are translated into text and converted into speech using the Google Text-to-Speech (gTTS) API. The model was trained over 50 epochs and evaluated using metrics including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The evaluation results show an accuracy of 89.74%, precision of 89.28%, recall of 96.15%, and F1-score of 92.16%, indicating strong model performance and generalization. Some misclassifications occurred, such as 'R' detected as 'L', and background images mistakenly classified as valid letters. Nonetheless, the system is able to detect and translate BISINDO sign language gestures in semi-realtime with high reliability. This study contributes both practically and theoretically to the field of assistive technologies by providing an accessible, web-based platform for BISINDO recognition, promoting more inclusive communication for the Indonesian deaf community.

Abstract

Programming education at the Faculty of Engineering, Surabaya State University, faces challenges including low student engagement, ineffective teaching methods, and difficulties in monitoring progress. This study proposes the adoption of the Scrum methodology to develop a Project-Based Learning Management Application (PBLMA) tailored for programming courses. The Scrum framework, with its iterative sprints and emphasis on collaboration, facilitates the development of a flexible, user-centered application. By integrating sprint retrospectives, the development process ensures continuous improvement, aligning the PBLMA with the dynamic needs of educators and students. Results demonstrate that Scrum enables efficient development, with iterative cycles allowing for rapid adaptation to feedback. The application enhances student engagement and simplifies progress tracking, addressing key educational challenges. This study highlights Scrum’s potential as a robust framework for educational software development, offering insights for future implementations in academic settings

Abstract

FURE is a plastic waste management startup that recycles waste into functional furniture products. The main challenges faced are the low public trust in recycled products and the lack of education about their benefits. This study aims to develop the UI/UX design of the FURE application using the User Centered Design (UCD) method, focusing on user needs. The design process was carried out through stages of context identification, user requirement determination, solution design, and evaluation. Usability testing was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. The first iteration showed an effectiveness of 83.75%, efficiency of 92.59%, and a satisfaction score of 78. After design improvements, the second iteration increased to 92.5% effectiveness, 82.3% efficiency, and 85 satisfaction. These results indicate that the developed design successfully improved effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction while supporting public participation in recycled product initiatives.Keyword: User Centered Design; UI/UX; Usability testing; FURE AbstrakFURE merupakan sebuah startup pengelolaan limbah plastik yang mendaur ulang sampah menjadi produk furniture fungsional. Tantangan yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap produk daur ulang serta kurangnya edukasi terkait manfaatnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan desain UI/UX aplikasi FURE menggunakan metode User Centered Design (UCD) yang berfokus pada kebutuhan pengguna. Proses perancangan dilakukan melalui tahapan identifikasi konteks, penentuan kebutuhan pengguna, desain solusi, dan evaluasi. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan usability testing dengan metode System Usability Scale (SUS). Hasil iterasi pertama menunjukkan effectiveness sebesar 83,75%, efficiency 92,59%, dan satisfaction 78. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan desain, iterasi kedua meningkat menjadi effectiveness 92,5%, efficiency 82,3%, dan satisfaction 85. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa desain yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan efektivitas, efisiensi, serta kepuasan pengguna, sekaligus mendukung partisipasi masyarakat terhadap produk daur ulang.

Abstract

Inefficient repair services for damaged smartphones and laptops pose challenges for both users and service providers. This research answers this problem by designing a mobile application marketplace interface for smartphone and laptop repairs by prioritizing usability and user experience (UX). Design thinking methodology guides the development process, which involves user empathy, problem definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing. Iterative evaluation using usability testing and heuristic evaluation refines the design. The evaluation results of the final iteration showed a Learnability score of 96.6%, Efficiency 98.63%, Memorability 95%, Error 0.232, and Satisfaction 83.23 from technicians, as well as Learnability 93.3%, Efficiency 85.23%, Memorability 85%, Error 0.202, and Satisfaction 83.23 from customers, with success and very good qualifications. Heuristic evaluation by UI/UX experts further validates the usability of the design. This research concludes that the design thought approach has succeeded in creating a user-friendly marketplace interface for smartphone and laptop repair services. The app's high usability and positive reception from technicians and customers highlight its potential to simplify the repair process and increase overall customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Kesadaran dalam menghafal Al-Qur'an tersebar ke semua kalangan yang termasuk Generasi Z. Namun, terdapat educational achievement gap pada generasi z yang tidak mengenyam pendidikan di pondok pesantren yang mendapatkan bimbingan menghafalkan Al-Qur’an. Desain UI/UX aplikasi hafalan Al-Qur’an dirancang sebagai solusi dengan menggunakan Design Thinking sebagai metode perancangan yang terdiri dari empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Iterasi dilakukan dua kali untuk mendapatkan hasil yang optimal dengan menggunakan pengujian user experience questionnaire (UEQ). Hasil pengujiannya adalah semua ke-enam aspek UEQ berada di atas rata-rata yang menunjukkan desain antarmuka sudah berjalan baik.
