Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) strategies in enhancing students' interest and active participation in Fiqh education at MI Al-Hidayah. Many students at MI face significant challenges in mastering Fiqh, resulting in low levels of engagement during lessons. Suboptimal academic performance in this subject is often attributed to the reliance on ineffective instructional methods. Consequently, the integration of PjBL emerges as a critical strategy for enriching learning experiences and promoting practical application within the educational framework of MI. Adopting a qualitative methodology through a case study design, the research collected data using in-depth interviews to gain comprehensive insights. Additionally, both participatory and non-participatory observations were employed to capture authentic behaviors within natural contexts. These methods were further supplemented by the triangulation of data from multiple relevant sources. The findings reveal that PjBL has a significant positive impact on the quality of Fiqh education at MI Al-Hidayah. This pedagogical approach not only increases student engagement and interaction but also enhances their understanding of fundamental concepts. Moreover, PjBL fosters the development of critical social skills, such as collaboration, an appreciation for peaceful coexistence, and a heightened sense of responsibility. Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of the flipped classroom model in improving language proficiency among 20 fourth-grade elementary students at MI Miftahul Jannah, Kedung Supit. The flipped classroom approach allows students to independently review materials before class, maximizing in-class time for interactive and collaborative learning. Employing a qualitative research design with experimental pre-test/post-test components and descriptive methods, data were collected via observations and interviews. Analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Language proficiency assessments and motivation questionnaires served as instruments. Results showed the flipped classroom significantly enhanced students' language abilities, particularly in speaking and writing, and fostered greater enthusiasm and engagement. The model’s implementation involved three phases: pre-class material review using worksheets; in-class discussions and exercises guided by the teacher; and post-class formative assessments. A notable improvement in listening and speaking skills was observed. Previously, students struggled with main ideas, new vocabulary, and expressing opinions due to time and improper language use. After adopting the flipped classroom, 15 of 20 students demonstrated significant progress, outperforming traditional methods. Furthermore, motivation questionnaires indicated increased student drive. This research confirms the flipped classroom as an effective strategy for boosting elementary language proficiency and offers a valuable resource for innovative teaching practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Good Governance principles in the Muhammadiyah Paciran Modern Islamic Boarding School, focusing on the aspects of transparency, accountability, social responsibility, independence, and equality in the distribution of resources. The research method used is a case study with in-depth interviews with pesantren managers, guardians of students, and other related parties. The results of the study show that pesantren has implemented the principle of transparency through various communication channels, although there are challenges related to technology accessibility for some parties. In addition, accountability in financial management is also pursued with internal audits, but external auditors have not been involved to ensure objectivity. Islamic boarding schools are also active in social activities for the community, although they are still faced with obstacles to program sustainability. The independence of Islamic boarding schools in funding has begun to be pursued by diversifying sources of income, but it still requires more careful planning. The principle of equality in the distribution of resources has been implemented, but there are several complaints related to inequality. This research suggests that Islamic boarding schools strengthen their internal capacity, utilize digital technology, and involve external auditors to increase accountability and transparency.
