Abstract

Language is a communication tool to convey one's wishes to someone else around the world with various characteristics. Arabic is the second most widely used international language, in learning it there are several obstacles that most people experience. Among them is the age factor, which affects memory when receiving lessons, health, mood, tuition fees, signals (for those who are online), distance, besides that it is also a factor in dividing time between family, study and work. In order to overcome this, supporting factors such as strong motivation during the learning process are needed. This is experienced by the ummahat Mahad Umar Bin khattab Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, their azzam to be able to return to study at a young age, the underlying motivation for the ummahat in learning Arabic is to understand the Al-Quran and translate it well, as a provision for communication, educating their children, job demands, as a filler in free time, motivating peers, and realizing the ideals of youth to study in college. Highlights: Age challenges: Memory decline, health issues, and time constraints pose hurdles for Arabic learners, especially older individuals. Motivation: Strong desire to understand the Quran, advance careers, and fulfill personal aspirations drives learners to overcome obstacles in Arabic language acquisition. Ummahat's role: Mothers from Mahad Umar Bin Khattab Muhammadiyah University display determination to learn Arabic despite challenges, balancing family, education, and personal growth. Abstract

Background: Arabic language is a core subject in Islamic education, yet students often face difficulties in mastering vocabulary. Specific Background: At SD Muhammadiyah 1 Trenggalek, vocabulary learning was often monotonous, reducing students’ interest. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies rarely focused on systematic integration of crossword puzzles (TTS) as a structured medium for vocabulary instruction. Aim: This study aims to describe the process, challenges, and solutions of implementing TTS in Arabic vocabulary learning. Results: The findings show that TTS increases students’ participation, memory retention, and contextual understanding of vocabulary. Challenges include limited class time, diverse student abilities, and low initial engagement. Novelty: The study proposes strategies such as pictorial TTS, audiovisual support, step-by-step implementation, rewards, and teacher training. Implications: These results provide practical recommendations for teachers to design interactive and student-centered vocabulary learning in elementary schools. Abstract

Learning media is an important aspect of supporting the achievement of learning objectives. However, currently learning Arabic in Class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo does not use learning media. Meanwhile, students have difficulty understanding Nahwu Adad Ma'dud learning and students need technology-based learning media that attracts interest in learning and is easy to use anywhere and anytime. So this research was carried out as a form of developing learning media, especially in learning Nahwu Adad Ma'dud which was aimed at eight grade of junior high school students to be more interested and motivated to learn Adad Ma'dud so that it was easier to understand. The research method used is Research & Development (R&D) by describing the responses from the questionnaire sheet as well as criticisms and suggestions from the validators, and the results of the responses are processed and measured quantitatively using the Linkert scale. This research is produce the development product of an interactive animation video with time duration 13 minutes that containing animated explain of the meaning, examples, and summaries of the 4 types of Adad Ma'dud. This interactive animation video development product reach a very good response by 86.16% from 15 students.
