Abstract

This research examines how Indonesian Migrant Workers (IMWs) in Taiwan build disaster resilience by mobilizing social capital, particularly in contexts where formal institutional support is limited or absent. Using an interpretive qualitative approach, the study adopts a case study design that includes semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The findings reveal that bonding and bridging social capital, developed through informal community connections, digital platforms, and shared religious and cultural practices, serve as critical assets for disaster preparedness and response. These networks enable mutual aid, timely information exchange, and collective action among IMWs during disaster situations. However, linking social capital appears weak, indicating limited engagement with formal institutions and restricted access to public resources and legal protections. Informal leadership structures and culturally rooted coping strategies continue to play a significant role in fostering grassroots resilience. Nonetheless, systemic challenges such as language barriers, precarious legal status, and digital exclusion continue to impede broader institutional integration. By highlighting the experiences and agency of IMWs, this research contributes meaningfully to the discourse on disaster governance. It underscores the importance of inclusive frameworks that acknowledge the capabilities of migrant communities as active disaster actors rather than passive recipients of aid. It advocates for the inclusion of community-based organizations in national disaster policies and recommends comparative studies across different migrant-receiving contexts to deepen understanding of transnational resilience dynamics.

Abstract

The low critical thinking ability of students is the basis for this study. The focus of this study is to compare the critical thinking ability of class X students of SMAN Jenggawah in economics learning with the implementation of the PBL model assisted by Mind Mapping and the PBL model assisted by PowerPoint (PPT). This study applies a quasi-experimental method with a posttest nonequivalent control group design. This study involved all class X students of SMAN Jenggawah as the population, the research sample was selected using the purposive sampling method. Primary data were obtained from posttests, observations, and interviews. Hypothesis testing was carried out through independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the average value in the class using the PBL model assisted by Mind Mapping was higher, which was 80.14 compared to the class implementing the PBL model assisted by PPT of 74.29. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL model supported by Mind Mapping has a significant effect on critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore the factors influencing e-wallet usage intention among Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) owners in Indonesia by combining the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with cultural aspects. Research Methodology: This study used a quantitative survey of 170 micro and small business owners in Indonesia. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire and examined using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with statistical analysis software. Results: The findings revealed that perceived ease of use and uncertainty avoidance significantly influenced the continuance intention to use e-wallets. Perceived usefulness does not directly affect continuance intention, while collectivism significantly influences perceived usefulness but does not directly impact continued usage. Conclusions: The results suggest that MSE owners’ long-term adoption of e-wallets is strongly driven by system usability and their perception of risk and uncertainty. Cultural context also shapes users’ evaluation of digital financial technologies. Limitations: This study focuses on MSE owners in Indonesia with a small sample size and cross-sectional design, which may limit how widely the findings can be applied. Contributions: This study adds to the existing knowledge on fintech adoption by enhancing the Technology Acceptance Model with cultural aspects in the context of developing nations. The results also offer useful information for fintech firms and government officials to create user-friendly and reliable digital payment solutions.

Abstract

Objective: This research focuses on developing Android-based interactive instructional media using iSpring Suite 11 to enhance the quality of economics learning. The study was motivated by low student engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes in Class XI-4 at SMAN Rambipuji, where a significant proportion of students did not achieve the minimum passing criteria despite the use of conventional PowerPoint media. Method: The study adopted a modified ADDIE framework, concentrating on the analysis, design, and development stages. The product was evaluated through expert appraisal to examine content and design quality, along with student-based assessments to capture perceived attractiveness. Results: The evaluation results indicate that the media achieved a content feasibility score of 97.1% and a design feasibility score of 94.2%, both categorized as highly feasible. Furthermore, the student attractiveness test yielded a score of 92.2%, indicating a very high level of attractiveness. These findings suggest that the developed media have strong potential to facilitate more engaging, interactive, and student-centered learning processes. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the integration of iSpring Suite 11 into Android-based interactive instructional media that are pedagogically structured and empirically validated. This study highlights the strategic role of digital instructional media as a sustainable innovation for enhancing the quality of economics education in the digital era.
