Abstract

In the process of construction work, operators need accuracy in the process of finishing land leveling works such as road highway building, land reclamation, large commercial, landfill installation, so as to increase productivity. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to manufacture and implement a ground leveling finishing tool using Arduino IDE software and Atmega 328 microcontroller on the Dozer D3K Caterpillar heavy equipment unit. The placement of a series of components from the Grade Monitoring Assist includes the ultrasonic sensor on the lift cylinder, gyro and accelerometer at the top center of the blade, as well as a display that displays the results of parameter readings. Connections between components in Grade Monitoring Assist are cables that integrate all installed components. The results of testing the movement of the blade up and down position to get an accuracy value of 97.30% and an error of 2.70%. While the movement of the blade down position has an accuracy value of 96.50% and an error of 2.50%. And Tests by moving the blade according to the implement movement angle at the maximum blade angle position (either side) with an average error value of 1.48o, cutting ditches (angle V) an average error value of 0.676o

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of inputs on sweet corn production and to determine the efficiency of input use of sweet corn production in Maku Village Dolo Sub District Sigi Regency. The number of respondents was 31 farmers selected from 96 farmer population using a simple random sampling method. Cobb-Douglas production function and price efficiency analysis were performed to analyze data obtained. The analysis showed that simultaneously and partially land (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), pesticides (X4) and labor (X5) were found to have very significant effect on the production of sweet corn. The use of land area (X1), fertilizer (X3) and pesticides (X4) had not yet been efficient, while that of seeds (X2) and labor (X5) were not efficient.   Key Words : Cobb-Douglass function, efficiency, production input Influence.

Abstract

Cassava commodity has strong linkages with other industries. This is indicated by coefficient of its multiplier effect being greater than one. That means that investment of IDR 1 billion for the commodity will affect total economic activity of Central Sulawesi as big as the coefficient. The aim of this study is to estimate potentially competitiveness of cassava commodity of Central Sulawesi in international trade. In particular, the aim of this study is to estimate (i) potentially competitive advantage of cassava commodity; (ii) potentially comparative advantage of cassava commodity; (iii) level of governmental protection to price of tradable input for cassava; (iv) level of governmental protection to cassava outputs; and (v) level of simultaneously protection to cassava output sand tradable inputs for cassava. PAM method was used by using time series data of during 2000 – 2013 from BPS and FAO. The results of analysis shows that cassava commodity from Central Sulawesi has potentially competitiveness in international trade. This is showed by (i) potentially competitive advantage was indicated by PCR is less than one; thus cassava farm can be developed on a large scale; (ii) potentially comparative advantage was indicated by DRC is less than one; This means that in developing for cassava farm can be done by saving the resources; (iii) NPCR is equal to zero to show that government policies to tradable inputs is very protective, but actually that was caused by farmers didn’t apply fertilizers and pesticides;  thus developing for cassava farm can be done by organic farm, so cassava farm can be became as entry point in green economy of Central Sulawesi; (iv) NPCO is less than one meaning that government policies for output prices is in-protective, so cassava farmers didn’t enjoy actual prices of cassava output; and (v) EPC is less than one meaning that beside government policies for prices of cassava output is in-protective, government policies for tradable inputs is also in-protective; thus although the farmers didn’t enjoy the surplus prices, however they can pay tradable inputs being lower than actual prices of the tradable inputs.

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to find out the form of sweet corn marketing, the marketing margin of sweet corn, the prices share received by sweet corn farmers, and the level of efficiency achieved in sweet corn marketing in Sigi regency. Data was analyzed using marketing margin and marketing efficiency analysis. There were two marketing channels in Sigi regency i.e. farmers – trader collector – retailer – Customer (channel I); and farmer – retailer – customer (channel II). The marketing margin in channel I was IDR 9,900/kg while in the channel II was IDR 9,000/kg. The share of prices received by the farmers in the channel I was 34% while in the channel II 40%. The marketing efficiency of sweet corn in the channel I was 5.9% and in the channel II was 3.0%. This indicates that the marketing efficiency of sweet corn in Sigi Biromaru sub-district of Sigi regency is more efficient in the channel II due to its shorter chain leading to lower cost.  Similarly, the total sales value of the channel II is also greater than that of the channel I. Keywords :  Corn, Marketing, Marketing Channel, and Marketing  of Corn.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Modo village, Bukal sub-district, Buol regency. The location was selected purposively based on that this village has produced the highest cornyield among villages in the sub district. The research took place since August to October 2015. The sample was all population members including 55 respondents. Primary and secondary data were collected and analyzed using Cobb-Douglas production function analysis to determine the relation between variables studied. The dependent variables included land, seed, fertilizer, and labor(X) whereas the dependent variable was corn production (Y). The results of this research showed that land, seed, fertilizer, and labor significantly affect the hybrid corn farm production in Modo village. The average costs incurred is IDR 7,387,839/1.18 ha equal toIDR 6,260,881/ha, while the income of the farming obtained is IDR 13,372,500/1.18 ha equal toIDR 11,332,627/ha, and the respondent income is IDR 5,984,661/1.18 ha equal to IDR 4,071,746/ha.Keywords: Income, Hybrid Corn Farm, Production.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the financial feasibility of organic vegetable farming at CV. Rahayu. This research conducted in Sidera, Subdistrict of Sigi Biromaru, Regency of Sigi on December 2016 to January 2017. The respondents were purposively determined. Data was analyzed using financial worthiness analysis employing with 4 indicators: Net present value (NPV), net benefit cost ratio (Net B/C), internal rate of return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). The results of this research indicated that the NPV during the period 2014 to 2018 was IDR 543.674.792; the net B/Cwas 1,65, the IRR was 35,09 %, and the PP was 2 years and 3 months. The results of the calculationusing sensitivity analysis in the organic vegetable farming company at CV. Rahayu by assuming the organic vegetables attacked by the pests and diseases were a decreased 33 percent from total production with the acquisition of NPV decreased to IDR 8.587.415, Net B/C decreased to 1.01, IRR decreased to 12.42 percent, Payback period became 3.6 years. In the other hand, NPV decreased to IDR 7,276,181, Net B/C decreased to 1.01, IRR decreased to 12.36 percent, payback period became 3.6 years if the assume was an increased production cost until 74 percent. These values financially show the farming at CV. Rahayu is well worth to effort. These results indicate that financially, CV. Rahayu is very feasible to operate.
