Abstract

Aerobic physical activity has an important role in improving students' fitness and health. However, the level of participation of MAN 1 Sinjai students in this activity still varies. This study aims to analyse the factors that influence students' participation in aerobic physical activity, including motivation, available facilities, and environmental support, and examine the relationship between students' perceptions of the benefits of aerobic physical activity and the level of students' participation in aerobic activity. This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive design. The population in this study were MAN 1 Sinjai students, with a sample of 50 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, while data analysis used descriptive statistics. The results showed that the level of student participation in aerobic physical activity varied, with most students showing a fairly good involvement, but there were still those who were neutral towards participation. Motivational factors, sports facilities, and environmental support have a significant effect on student participation, where students who are highly motivated and receive more support tend to be more active. In addition, students' perception of the benefits of aerobic physical activity had a positive relationship with their level of participation. In conclusion, increasing student participation can be achieved with strategies to increase motivation, provide better facilities, and strengthen environmental support. It is hoped that the results of this study can be the basis for designing programs to increase students' physical activity in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mental health impacts of esports involvement, focusing on the psychological characteristics of professional players compared to recreational players. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative and quantitative research, with in-depth interviews and surveys used to collect data on players' anxiety, depression, and motivation. The results indicate that player motivation falls into two categories: intrinsic, related to personal satisfaction and skill development, and extrinsic, involving financial rewards and social recognition. These findings suggest that intrinsically motivated players tend to have better mental well-being, while reliance on extrinsic motivation can increase the risk of stress and anxiety. Furthermore, involvement in the esports community can provide significant social support, although there are also mental health risks due to competitive pressure. The conclusions of this study emphasize the importance of understanding both sides of the impact of esports on mental health, as well as the need for more effective support strategies for players to reduce stigma and improve their well-being in an increasingly digital world.   Keywords: Psychological Impact of Esports, Mental Health, Motivation

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explore the physical characteristics of high-level young soccer players based on their playing positions. The research method employed a cross-sectional design, involving 123 young players (average age 15 years) across various positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards. Data were collected through a series of tests measuring speed (5m, 10m, 20m sprints), agility (505 agility test, K-Test), as well as aerobic and anaerobic capacity (Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Level 1, Repeated Sprint Ability). Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to analyze significant differences between positions. The results revealed significant differences (p < 0.01) in physical parameters based on playing positions. Midfielders demonstrated better performance in agility and fitness tests compared to goalkeepers. In conclusion, the physical characteristics of young players are significantly influenced by their playing positions, indicating that training programs should be tailored accordingly. Keywords: Physical condition, football, player's physique Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakteristik fisik pemain sepak bola muda tingkat tinggi berdasarkan posisi bermain. Abstract

Dual-career student-athletes must be supported by rigorous training and academic processes that suit their needs. Unfortunately, student-athletes' academic performances are not as satisfactory as their sports achievements. Their sports training and the academic process are needed. This qualitative study aimed to analyze the academic services student-athletes receive from faculty and their expectations. A total of 30 studentathletes who had achieved sports achievements at regional, national, and international levels were interviewed about academic services ranging from planning, materials, learning processes, assessment, and expectations. The data were analyzed using the NVivo application. The findings of this study are that student academic services are stated to be the same between student-athletes and non-athletes. The faculty has provided special licensing services for student-athletes; there needs to be a better alignment of faculty and lecturer-level licensing. Student-athletes feel that the allocation of academic activities needs to be lowered, assignments are not by theconditions of student-athletes, and students need special athlete classes that are flexible to rigorous sports activities

Abstract

This study aims to test the hypothesis that the traditional game Gobak Sodor is effective in improving dribbling skills in grade 4 students of Bontokamase State Elementary School. This study involved 50 students who were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group (n=25) and the control group (n=25). The experimental group was given dribbling training integrated with the Gobak Sodor game for 4 weeks, while the control group only followed conventional dribbling learning. Data were collected through dribbling skills tests before and after treatment. The results of data analysis using paired t-test showed a significant increase in the average post-test score of the experimental group (M = 87, SD = 6.1) compared to the pre-test (M = 72, SD = 5.4), with a t(22) value = 3.41, p < 0.01. In contrast, there was no significant difference in the control group. These findings indicate that the Gobak Sodor game can be an effective intervention to improve dribbling skills in students of Bontokamase State Elementary School.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding the role of actors in the dynamics of religious organizations, especially Muhammadiyah in Enrekang Regency, which faces social, ideological, and cultural complexity. Muhammadiyah actors at the local level not only carry out structural functions, but also play a cultural role as agents of social change and guardians of social harmony. The purpose of this study is to analyze how exemplary behavior, dual roles, and negotiation strategies of Muhammadiyah actors play a role in responding to the developing social and ideological dynamics. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using thematic and interpretive analysis techniques with reference to Anthony Giddens' structuration theory and Pierre Bourdieu's praxis theory. The results of the study show that Muhammadiyah actors have a strategic role in bridging the ideological values of the organization with the needs of the local community through social exemplars, flexibility of action, and a cultural approach. The discussion shows that the success of the organization is highly dependent on the quality of the actor's agency, not solely on structural strength. This study provides theoretical and practical contributions in understanding the dynamics of community-based religious organizations in complex and pluralistic social spaces.

Abstract

This research is time-sensitive because Sinjai Regency has great potential for establishing leading sports, yet teenage sports participation is low. This study examines adolescents' interest and engagement in potential sports, identifies influencing factors, and compares subjective interest with actual sports participation. This study will also make strategic recommendations for local governments and sports institutions to develop sports based on local potential and teenage preferences. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach involving adolescent respondents aged 13–18 years in various sub-districts in Sinjai Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through closed questionnaires and semi-structured interviews distributed to junior high and high school students, and data triangulation was carried out through interviews with physical education teachers, coaches, and local sports figures. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis to examine the relationship between levels of interest, participation, and the factors that influence them. The results show that adolescent interest in potential sports such as soccer, volleyball, and athletics is relatively high, but not always followed by a commensurate level of participation. Dominant factors influencing participation include sports facilities, social support, and intrinsic motivation. The alignment between interest and actual involvement still needs to be strengthened through coaching programs and competitive activities at the school and community levels. In conclusion, interest-based strategies, environmental support, and the availability of adequate facilities are necessary to increase youth participation in sports in Sinjai Regency.

Abstract

This study differs from field results that many students still struggle with dribbling despite regular PJOK participation. Teachers' incorrect teaching approaches and student learning motivation may contribute to this situation. This study examines how instructional approaches affect futsal dribbling skills and learning motivation in High School 1 Sinjai Utara pupils. This study used a pure experimental method (true experimental design) with a 2x2 factorial design, involving 40 students who were randomly divided into two treatment groups, namely learning with a reciprocal teaching style and a practice teaching style. The research instruments included a futsal dribbling skills test and a learning motivation questionnaire to identify student characteristics. The research procedure was carried out through the pre-test, learning treatment, and post-test stages. The analysis found that (1) there was a significant difference in dribbling skill learning outcomes between the reciprocal teaching style and the practice teaching style; (2) learning motivation significantly influenced learning outcomes; (3) there was an interaction between teaching style and learning motivation; and (4) students with high learning motivation performed better. Thus, a reciprocal teaching style can be an effective futsal learning strategy, especially for students with high learning motivation, because it encourages active participation, mutual feedback, and continuous observation and correction to improve technical skills. This study suggests that PJOK teachers should tailor their teaching techniques to students' traits and motivations for more successful, student-centered skills learning.
