Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of PT.McDermott Indonesia's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that is Hinterland Support on the Community in Batam. The purpose of this research are to find out and to describe the impact of the Hinterland Support throughout its programs to Community in Galang. The Hinterland area of Batam has not fully had access to adequate facilities. PT.McDermott Indonesia is committed and brings their awareness about those issues and fix it by their own CSR program.This research is a qualitative research, which is done by explaining the case based on facts. Neo liberalism theory helps to analyze the role of non nation actor, which is Multinational Corporation. Another theoretical framework applied in this research are Corporate Social Responsibility theory and also group analysis to assisting the researcher to find the answers in this case. The techniques used to collect data to study the case of library research in the form of journals, books, an official document, articles, and websites.The result of this research shows that the Hinterland Support program in the form of renovation and development  has given impacts on the people of Batam City since it was established in 2002. Even though it is not implemented every year, in the first ten years of its operation, Hinterland Support focuses on building public facilities that help the Hinterland area community. Abstract

This study aims to explain about Iran's strategy in 2018-2020 after the US left the JCPOA. The US decision to reimpose its sanctions on Iran since 2018, and the failure of the P4+1 countries to provide Iran with economic benefits from the JCPOA, only made Iran’s position more desperate in the end. Therefore, Iran is required to be prepared to take decisive steps to ensure its interests. The research method used in this research is descriptive analysis with qualitative research type. The data collection technique used is document analysis, which is a systematic procedure for reviewing and evaluating both printed and electronic documents. This study uses the game theory as an analytical tool to explain Iran's strategic choices. This research shows that an option that benefits Iran's position is to implement a counter strategy, which is gradually reducing its nuclear commitments to the JCPOA. This strategy succeeded in achieving its objectives, besides being able to pressure P4 + 1 countries to find concrete solutions to US sanctions, this strategy is also capable of protecting Iran from attack by potential aggressor.Keyword: Iran’s Strategy, JCPOA, Counter Strategy

Abstract

This study analyses Indonesia's cooperation in importing cotton from the United States in 2017-2020. Indonesia cooperates with the United States in Cotton Imports where the United States is the main destination country to meet Indonesia's domestic Cotton Demand. This study uses a liberalism perspective where international relations are more cooperative than conflictual and the government plays a role in managing the international economy. This study was also analyzed using the theory of International Cooperation. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. This data collection uses literature studies and various literatures that refer to books, journals, theses and websites on the Internet.This study shows the results of Indonesia's cooperation with the United States in 2017-2020. Indonesia's cooperation in Importing Cotton from the United States provides Indonesia with the opportunity to meet the large demand for cotton in the country, where the value of cotton imports by Indonesia from the United States was in 2017 as much as 289.050,000/kg, in 2018 it was 339,012,000/kg, in 2019 as many as 243,404,000/kg and in 2020 as many as 295,307,000/kg.The cooperation carried out by Indonesia and the United States Was first based on an approach, then continued with negotiations/discussion processes and after all of this was carried out, an agreement was created to establish cooperation between the two countries. keywords: International cooperation theory, Import of cotton, Liberalism, demand for supply.

Abstract

Halal tourism is a global phenomenon today. The development of Halal tourism has been supported by many countries, especially ASEAN countries. Thailand is one of the countries developing halal tourism, the purpose of developing halal tourism is to make Thailand a Muslim-friendly country and Indonesian Muslim tourists are the main target. The demand for halal travel by Muslim tourists will be a challenge for the Thai government, especially the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) which has representative offices in different countries, is the government agency responsible for promoting Thai tourism as a suitable destination for Muslims. . While this study aims to explain and explore the strategy of PR TAT Jakarta office in promoting Thailand's halal tourism.The research method used is qualitative using library research techniques.This study collects data using primary and secondary data.The results of this study explain that the strategy implemented by TAT Jakarta's public relations in promoting halal tourism to make Thailand a Muslim country is very good, due to the number of foreign visitors. Outbound visits to Thailand in 2014-2018 are increasing every year. Improvement efforts are reflected in the existence of guides and brochures for tourists and facilities and add-ons for Muslim tourists to make it easier for tourists to visit.  Keywords : Halal Tourism, Public Relation, Muslim Tourism, Muslim Friendly Tourism

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of united nations high commisioner for refugees (UNHCR) in dealing with venezuelan refugees in Colombia and explain what efforts have been made by UNHCR to help deal with the venezuelan refugees in Colombia 2018 - 2020. The type of this research is descriptive analytic method. Descriptive method is a method that tries to collect, compile, interpret data which is then proposed by analyzing the data. Technique of data analyze is qualitative and use secondary is obtained from books, journals, official websites with valid sources. The author uses a pluralism perspective and a level group analysis. And the theory used in this research is the theory of the role of international organization by Magandar Situmorang. The result of this study indicated, the role of UNHCR in dealing with venezuelan refugee in colombia was to act as an facilitator and initiator. As the facilitator of UNHCR facilitated the collaboration between the Colombian government and other organizations. Then as the initiator of UNHCR brought the issue of refugees to the international community as a disseminator of information through the (RRMP) program.Keywords: Role, UNHCR, Refugees, Pluralism Perspective,  Group Analysis

Abstract

This research analyzes US interest supporting and protecting Taiwan in conflict between Taiwan and China. In this case, The United States arms sales to Taiwan. The U.S. compelled to sell arms to Taiwan as a part of their trade relations, and to offset its trade deficits with Taiwan. Moreover, after the abrogation of Sino-American Mutual Defense Agreement, the U.S. could not leave Taiwan without any collateral security guarantee. The U.S. arms sales agreement to Taiwan was sealed in a policy named Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) on April 19, 1979. TRA marked as the first milestone in the history of the U.S. consistent and continued commitment to maintain the existence of and to provide a security defense for Taiwan, although it invites strong reactions from China. Even, in the reign of president George Walker Bush lead US , that is since 2001 until 2009, arms trade agreement between the United States to Taiwan reaches a value of 15 billion dollars U.S.The method used in this research is qualitative research. Some of the data obtained came from books, journals, articles, newspapers, the internet and other media. In this study also uses the perspective of realism, cooperation theory, the theory of International cooperation as a supported of the theory and use of the concept of national interest in seeing the cases studied.The research show that US have a s interest in assistance Taiwan in the conflict between Taiwan and China.Government of U.S come as international actor who have interest in Taiwan. United states become the state that protecting Taiwan. United State have interest to humanitarian and peacekeeping in Taiwan-China conflict. Abstract

Changes and an increase in military spending ASEAN countries is the fact dynamics armament southeast asia today. nevertheless, on the other hand countries in southeast asia seek to "create" peace through regional collaborations to always maintain regional peace. the article is meant to know further indoneisa’s background in increasing its military expenditure through describing its armed forces’ defense policy especially in its military expenditure and by seeing how far the impact of indonesia’s military expenditure increase for phenomenon of security dilemma in ASEAN especially in two countries, malaysia and singapore This research is using realism perspective, in this perspective of realism emphasizes the existence of structures in viewing the phenomenon of international relations. For structural realism (offensive and defensive) each country is seen to have the same behavior, policies and interests. Backed by the Nation State level analysis and Theory of Regional Security Complex, The concept leads to qualitative methods and library research for references. Indonesia's military expenditure increasing effect in the Security Dilemma in the ASEAN which caused a balance of power between three countries: Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, as one point said by Hass the balance meaning Equilibrium means what it seems to imply to the uninitiated layman: an exact equilibrium of power between two or more contending parties.Keyword: Security Dilemma, Military Expenditure, ASEAN, Balance Of Power

Abstract

This research describes the policy of Rusia implemented the Caspian Pipeline Concorcium system in oil cooperation Rusia with Khazakhstan in 2010-2014. Oil one of most important for human and nowdays every states need a oil with politics oil. Khazakhstan are one of most country in Centre Asia Region that have big potency in oil, its make a Rusia to create a agreement wiyth Khazakahstan.The research method used was a qualitative with descriptive as a technic of the research. Writer collects data from books, encyclopedia, journal, mass media and websites to analyze the policy of Rusia implemented the Caspian Pipeline Concorcium system in oil cooperation Rusia with Khazakhstan. The theories applied in this research are realism perspective with the foreign policy by Richard Snyder.The conclusion of this research the policy of Rusia implemented the Caspian Pipeline Concorcium system in oil cooperation Rusia with Khazakhstan are caused by strategys value of Khazakhstan for Rusia to oil supply, the needed of oil for Rusia, used for distribution of oil Rusia to another state in Center Asia region and to containment of United State hegemony in Centre Asia Region.Key words: implementation, policy, oil and trades.

Abstract

This Research describes that a film is able to actualize symbolize that canbecome an identity of state, community or individual. One of HollywoodMovies that is able to be a signifier from the strength of United Statesnamely the movie of Superman. Symbol “S” at the costume of Supermanbecomes signifier from the superpower of United States. “S” meansambiguity in the meaning of superpower and it has been stuck on theglobal society‟s mindset that United States is the only most super in thewhole wide world. US expands its hidden ideology through diplomacyespecially by culture expanding.This research uses analitif-descriptivemethod. The datas were obtained from internet, journals, and books. Then,they were collected, summarized and analyzed based on the socialresearch method. To analyze it, the writer uses postmodernismeperspective to explore the constructed mindset.This research explores the constructed mindset of Symbol “S” ofSuperman Movie where United States is always considered as supercountry through its Megalomania ideology that is hidden in every untoldicon. Abstract

Indonesia is a country that entered into the Southeast Asia region and can be seen also that Batam Island is a neighboring city also directly adjacent to Singapore and Malaysia. Because of the very strategic location that makes Batam is in international shipping lane, thus making Batam cooperate with Singapore in developing “Funtasy Island” to support the tourism potential. Tourism activity is one of the sectors that play a role in the process of development and development of the region, namely in giving a contribution that directly affects the economy of the country itself. “Funtasy Island” is a resort project that will be one of the tourist destinations located on Manis Island in the waters of the Riau Islands. This island will then be converted into the largest eco-theme park concept in the world. So this big project was created and developed through the collaboration of two companies from both countries, namely Indonesia and Singapore.This study uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analytical models, where the purpose of this study is to describe the facts and characteristics of certain population areas in a systematic, factual, and accurate manner. This study uses secondary data collection techniques and primary data, then connects the theory with data obtained through library research. Secondary data can be obtained from books, journals, government reports, documents, magazines, websites, and other sources. For primary data, the authors conducted a field study in collecting data needed for this study. And the theoretical framework used to explain the problem in this study is the International Perspective theory, the perspective of Liberalism.With the MoU on cooperation between countries, the signing of Special Economic Zones, as well as promotional activities carried out by the two countries showed that the economic development of Batam Island in collaboration with Singapore could be said to be good and beneficial for both countries. Because with the "Funtasy Island" project, it will increase regional and foreign exchange income, which can encourage the development of Indonesia's economy, including Batam Island.Keyword: cooperation, liberalism, tourism, relations.
