Abstract

Aren is one of the non-timber forest product commodities with various uses, ranging from palm sugar products to bioethanol. Palm juice has a short shelf life and will form alcohol groups that can affect product quality. The addition of preservatives is a solution that can be done to overcome this problem. This study aims to detect the characteristics and quality of granular and liquid palm sugar with the addition of natural preservatives. The results showed that there were variations in the color of the results based on preservatives where the addition of jackfruit wood extract was the best result with a light brown color on the sugar. The dominant flavor produced has a sweet taste (normal) in most of the treatments given. The quality of sugar produced showed a sugar content value of 100 brix in all treatments and types of preservative additions. The lowest water content was produced in the type of ant sugar using jackfruit wood extract around 0.69%. The average pH of all palm sugar products was acidic.

Abstract

The study aims to investigate the practical implications of using YouTube videos to improve the vocabulary mastery ability of students in class X RPL B (Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak) SMK Negeri 4 Kendari. The researcher used a pre-experimental research method using one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample of this study was 30 class X students from the RPL B (Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak) department of SMK Negeri 4 Kendari. The data collection instruments used in this study were pre-test and post-test. Based on the results of the data analysis, the average pre-test score was higher than the post-test, with a pre-test of 54.78 and a post-test of 81.44. Based on the results of statistical calculations using paired sample t-test, the standard deviation value was 10.47 with a significance level of 0.000. Thus, it can be assumed that H₁ is accepted, which indicates a significant increase in students' comprehension ability before and after learning using YouTube videos. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of YouTube videos effectively improves the comprehension ability of class X RPL B students of SMK Negeri 4 Kendari in the 2023/2024 academic year, providing practical insights for language educators and stakeholders.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate uneven development between regions and its influence on regional economic growth in South Sulawesi Province. The main focus is on the comparison of regional development indices in various districts/cities in the province as well as the correlation between uneven development and regional economic growth. The data analyzed includes trends in the increase in HDI and GDP per capita ADHB from 2015 to 2019, with districts/cities such as Makassar, East Luwu and Enrekang showing the highest indices. Another important finding is that there is a significant correlation between uneven development (measured by the Williamson Index) and regional economic growth in the region. The implication is that more inclusive and equitable policies are needed to reduce development disparities between regions and encourage sustainable economic growth in South Sulawesi Province.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of independent class XI students about the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in Biology at SMAN 3 Kendari. P5 is part of the Independent Curriculum which aims to integrate Pancasila values into learning through a project-based approach. One of the projects studied is "Beauty from Plastic", which examines the issue of plastic waste management as a creative product relevant to biology material on pollution and environmental preservation. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach, using a questionnaire instrument (google form) in the form of a Likert scale. Data were distributed to 259 independent class XI students, in this study using Purposive sampling with a sampling technique with certain considerations, so the sample was 198 respondents. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability. Analyzed using descriptive statistics, then frequency distribution analysis to determine the position of perception. The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in Biology at SMAN 3 Kendari has variations in perception, namely high, medium, and low perceptions. The results of the study showed that the highest percentage of understanding indicators was in the high category at 67%, the highest percentage of acceptance indicators was in the high category at 52%, and the highest percentage of evaluation indicators was in the high category at 49%. The perceptions of independent class XI students regarding the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in Biology subjects at SMAN 3 Kendari were generally in the High category.

Abstract

The students’ mathematics achievement at SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan remains relatively low, as indicated by the documented results of their daily mathematics tests. This issue can be attributed to several factors, including mathematics anxiety and mathematics self-efficacy. This study examines the influence of mathematics anxiety and self-efficacy on the mathematics achievement of 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan, both partially and simultaneously. The research employed a quantitative ex post facto causal model. The sample consisted of 188 students, selected through cluster random sampling, with the sample size determined using the Slovin formula. The research instruments included questionnaires measuring mathematics anxiety and self-efficacy and documenting the students’ mathematics achievement. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of Jamovi software. The partial analysis results showed that mathematics anxiety significantly negatively affected students’ mathematics achievement, with the obtained linear regression equation being . Additionally, mathematics self-efficacy significantly positively affected students’ mathematics achievement, with the linier regression equation being . Simultaneously, the analysis revealed that mathematics anxiety and mathematics self-efficacy had a significant combined effect on students’ achievement, accounting for 24.8% of the variance, with the multiple linear regression equation being . Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that both mathematics anxiety and self-efficacy significantly influence students’ mathematics achievement, individually anf collectively.
